Some mega stars who had no release this year and even last year will now have a release in 2026, some of the most ambitious films are also releasing in 2026, and some long-awaited reunions and long-awaited comebacks as well. The final film of Thalapathy Vijay is going to be the ultimate festival possible and thus meaning to be the first big release of 2026. It certainly cannot get bigger than this in several ways.

Prabhas has been frequent with his films and The Raja Saab was initially supposed to have a December 2025 release. But the fantasy horror-comedy is now going to be the second mega release of 2026.

The war drama marks the return of nostalgia and legacy where Sunny Deol becomes the beloved war veteran again, this time with a young cast that includes Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in key roles. The film is slated for a Republic Day 2026 release.

This one comes in not mainly because of the scale but because of the sheer fact that two powerhouses are reuniting after having a fantastic record already. That is that of Shahid Kapoor and director Vishal Bhardwaj as the duo reunites after their work in Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon and will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It helps that the film also has a stellar ensemble with the likes of Avinash Tiwary, Triptii Dimri and Nana Patekar.

Rani Mukerji returns as the formidable cop Shivani Sivaji Roy in the only female cop franchise to have a third installment coming in and is joined by Shaitaan and Vash fame Janki Bodiwala.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do

Ayushmann Khurrana made his return with Thamma after two years and now already has another release set to be rolling, which will be the second installment of the Pati Patni franchise. The film stars Khurrana alongside three lovely ladies in the form of Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Wamiqa Gabbi.

If there is one universe that needed a full reset, it was that of the YRF Spy Universe. After the debacle of War 2, the makers realised they need to go back to the drawing board for their next film which also marks the first ever film to be having female superstars as the leads. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari lead the charge here as Bobby Deol becomes the antagonist but the December 2025 release date being pushed was anticipated and now the film, as things stand is headed for an April 2026 release with hopefully important and noteworthy changes.

The film is in the shooting process and would probably have a release mid 2026 but it is still uncertain.
