It had an engaging plot, a brilliant lead pair and ensemble cast and it was supported by a fabulous album. No surprises that it clicked. If you judge it by today's standards, it is obviously cliched and outdated. Back then it was brilliant. So no it is definitely not overrated and I don't think we have a single lead pair in Bollywood who can replicate the charm of Raj and Simran. I can totally see why it clicked the way it did.

I preferred the SRK and Kajol pairing a lot more in Kjos movies barring MNK.

I agree, I liked Kuch Kuch hota hai a lot more, heck I even find mohabbatein and rab ne better than ddlj.

@TM-I loved DDLJ as a kid and I still love it even as an adult. The film which made me a shipper 🤣 There are so many scenes from the film which have been replicated a million times in various other films and shows and yet none of them have managed to beat Raj-Simran. SRK-Kajol were truly something 😆

No, it is not.

While I do find it cheesy and all,personally not a fan but overrated?? No.

Because see that movie inspired a generation of romantics, has a very strong pop culture reference and was well received everywhere, whether public or critics.

I don't think bahubali is overrated 😛

i find ddlj overrated af and hahk highly underrated. Hahk was bigger hit than ddlj and was over all better movie than ddlj
