I agree with you except for the tone of blanket judgment. First, have you watched any of the seasons of the Naagin franchise? It's a great fantasy show with an indigenous concept.
The first season had a perfect blend of suspense, thrill, drama and romance. The second season was considerably weaker, but the third season is again suitably interesting. I'd request you to at least watch a few episodes before giving out a sweeping verdict.

I admit I havent watched the entire seasons.. but I have watched a couple of episodes from first season.. There was some morni, and one mongoose apart from the naagins of course.. it was unintentionally funny to watch for me.. and the VFX were really bad.. Couldn't look past that, so stopped watching.. As u r saying, the story might have been interesting, but the packaging didnt really appeal to me..

You cannot judge an entire show by just the first two episodes. That's exactly what I was saying. The first couple of episodes didn't appeal to me either, and the VFX wasn't great as you said. But after two weeks the story became intriguing and the pull remained till the end (save one or two bad tracks).

I liked rishta.co too
kuch rang pyar ke aise bhi was a nice tv show that showed nuances was real and had a great stor with good character development
I also liked naamkarann in parts especially taking revenge though some things were unrealistic
other than that indian tv is good on some levels e.g. no nudity, no/minimal snogging and it is shown daily
though some scripts should be realistic and nonsensical stories should not be shown as it can insult our intelligence

Naagin was good only for few episodes and then they introduced some other creatures like mongoose, peacock and I don't know who else who kept dancing and attacking people in the show. I can't stop thinking about how the peacock used to dance and plan to kill Shivanya. 🤣

These shows look promising in the start (especially Ekta's shows) but then they start adding such nonsensical tracks that viewers feel they are making fun of their intelligence by watching these shows. Just they need TRP to continue and no matter what happens then, they assume people want to watch the show and love such idiotic tracks. Ekta herself said how viewers don't want to watch sensible shows where the wife doesn't tolerate infidelity and moves on but they can watch how a wife gets insulted and beaten up by the husband and runs after him from start to end.

Now again when good shows like Khichdi go off air due to low TRP, we can only assume that nothing will change till this TRP is not considered as an important factor. Zindagi was shut down due to the same reason. Channels like SP and Colors take off web series as well due to low TRP like how they did with Sarabhai.

Pow was the finest show I have seen on Indian telly in years . Currently I am watching Bepannaah only . Star plus started some finite series in last few years like Mahabharat , dehleez , ek Hasina thi & Sumit sambhal lega...they were really good but pow was the best of the lot .
