Most of these actors were amazing in their respective roles...so can't imagine him in these roles...SRK was offered Maddy's role in RDB...

It's not that they decided to push Raees, but that they decided to push it 6 months ahead and are now trying hard to try for a solo release by asking others to move from the date. Yes it is smart to try to sort it out internally for a solo release, but why even go to a date that has 2 other movies already there? He kept pushing it again and again...at one point I was convinced he was going to ditch it last minute & never do it...had only said yes b/c of his friends Farhan and Riteish..he surprised me when he actually started shooting but then of course now toh we know what the self-created mess is.

Then look at the directors he is considering working with next ... SLB, AdiC...directors who are suddenly successful again working with others, or directors who have been successful with him..ie chasing the past. What's the point? With the exception of ALR, there isn't anything exciting on the horizon..and even that might star Katrina. Imtiaz Ali makes terrible films. Just because he used to be capable of making SNT, JWM some 10 years ago doesn't mean SRK fits into that world at 50+ with an actress half his age...there is little chemistry there anyways and Imtiaz's movies rely heavily on that.. With Imtiaz's film, I see SRK chasing what used to work for him with a new-age love story director whose movies progressively get worse. Then this stupid chamchagiri of Sallu he's doing with his bike rides and god knows what else...

So it's a combination of everything..

I don't know from where you are getting that he didn't want to do Raees. He is on record talking about how Raees is looking good. I'm talking about an interview that he did just a few weeks back. A lot of the folks have gone on to call him arrogant and what not everytime a movie of his has clashed with another so the contradictory view is not surprising to me and I understand it to that degree since they did decide to shift Raees. He has Dear Zindagi coming out in Nov and to be honest there really aren't plenty of dates available this year. Infact if there were movies that are about to release in the next few months wouldn't be clashing, I agree with you that I didn't quite get why they decided on 26th Jan either since Kaabil and Baadshao were stated to release on that date. But if I'm not wrong Baadshao has shifted and one doesn't know about Kaabil. Besides it ain't the first time he has talked to a producer of a movie with regards to the release date issue. It happened during the last clash and it happened during CE too. The ideal scenario is obviously a solo release but sometimes you can't avert a clash or think a particular date is indeed right to release your movie even if another movie is coming on the same date.

Adi has only worked with him so far. Befikre is the first project where he is working with a different male lead so this notion that he's chasing the past in order to be have BO success is something I couldn't disagree more with. He worked with Adi when Adi was a complete newcomer. He has worked with the likes of Farah and Karan when they were newcomers. They are considered big names now but that wasn't the case when he worked with them. So the fact that they are big names now and he happens to be working with them means he's working with them because of that reason? Come on now! Imtiaz's last film didn't work at the BO so by your logic Shahrukh shouldn't be working with him but he's. As for the chemistry or the lack of that you refer to , well I disagree there as well. Anushka and Shahrukh in my humble opinion have terrific chemistry , whether it be their scenes in JTHJ or RNBDJ. As for riding bikes with SK or what you refer to as chamchagiri 😆, considering how many here seem to think he's quite PR savvy , I think most out there who have an iota of idea about how PR works would know a move like that wasn't going to do anything for his image. So it was the friendship talking there than anything else.
