It's not that they decided to push Raees, but that they decided to push it 6 months ahead and are now trying hard to try for a solo release by asking others to move from the date. Yes it is smart to try to sort it out internally for a solo release, but why even go to a date that has 2 other movies already there? SRK & Ritesh are responsible for the entire mess -- even if your product is bad, you don't let it out. Marketing 101. I'll leave Farhan out as I don't think he has been paying much attention to his PH while he runs off being an actor. I have never seen SRK behave so stupidly before where he killed the perception of the film 6-8 months in advance. There were plenty of dates this year. Actually from the beginning SRK has behaved under-confidently about Raees. He kept pushing it again and again...at one point I was convinced he was going to ditch it last minute & never do it...had only said yes b/c of his friends Farhan and Riteish..he surprised me when he actually started shooting but then of course now toh we know what the self-created mess is.

Then look at the directors he is considering working with next ... SLB, AdiC...directors who are suddenly successful again working with others, or directors who have been successful with him..ie chasing the past. What's the point? With the exception of ALR, there isn't anything exciting on the horizon..and even that might star Katrina. Imtiaz Ali makes terrible films. Just because he used to be capable of making SNT, JWM some 10 years ago doesn't mean SRK fits into that world at 50+ with an actress half his age...there is little chemistry there anyways and Imtiaz's movies rely heavily on that.. With Imtiaz's film, I see SRK chasing what used to work for him with a new-age love story director whose movies progressively get worse. Then this stupid chamchagiri of Sallu he's doing with his bike rides and god knows what else...

So it's a combination of everything..
