Thalapathy Vijay reportedly parts ways with wife mutually; did the actor go public with Trisha after this?

Reports about the personal life of Thalapathy Vijay have once again drawn attention online. The actor, who married Sangeetha Sornalingam in 1999, is now facing fresh speculation about his marriage. After more than two decades together, several reports claim that the couple may have mutually decided to part ways. While the development has sparked widespread discussion among fans, neither Vijay nor Sangeetha has publicly confirmed the reports so far.

The rumours gathered pace last month when multiple media reports suggested that Sangeetha had filed for divorce. Some claims pointed to an alleged extramarital relationship as the reason behind the legal step. Recently, a report by Rathnam News stated that the couple have now agreed to a mutual separation, though official confirmation is still awaited from both sides.

The discussion intensified further after Vijay was recently seen attending a wedding in Chennai with actress Trisha Krishnan. Their presence together quickly went viral across social media platforms. The sighting led to fresh speculation about Vijay’s personal life, especially as reports about his marriage continued to circulate at the same time.

According to a report by IndiaGlitz, the actor may settle the divorce by paying around INR 250 crore as alimony to Sangeetha and their children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha. The same report also suggested that Vijay has been asked to appear in person on April 20, 2026 in connection with the proceedings. However, none of these claims have been officially verified by the family.

Earlier, a copy of Sangeetha’s alleged petition had circulated online. The document reportedly claimed that she had been aware of Vijay’s relationship with another woman since April 2021. It also stated that she was assured the matter had ended. The petition further alleged that the relationship continued, causing emotional and mental distress.

Amid the speculation, Vijay’s bodyguard Aroon Suresh shared a brief message on Instagram Stories that read, “Time to rise above all the rumours.” The post appeared shortly before Vijay and Trisha were seen together at the wedding.

On the professional front, Vijay is preparing for his upcoming film Jana Nayagan directed by H. Vinoth. The project is expected to be his final film before he steps away from cinema.
