When we talk about evolution, it is so ironic that we term, the word 'MANkind'. Not intended to be a sexist here, this particular depiction however, has been
changed by women over the years. From stereotyped beliefs to liberal thoughts,
and from being chained by restrictions to becoming a free bird, women have
evolved momentously and continue to match and even outclass anyone who comes in
their way.
The telly world is criticized for being female oriented, where the
soaps on tube have a woman as its protagonist and the saga keeps revolving
around her. However, as much as for the apparent 'on-screen' domination they
have, the 'behind the screen' phenomena is quite different.
Apart from the likes of the queen, Ekta Kapoor, we list down the female
TV moghuls, who became the stars' off-screen and embarked a journey like no one
else.

One of the industry veterans and responsible for changing the way one watches television,
Ashvini Yardi is currently one of the most successful producers of the country.
She is one of the prime faces who built
Colors from becoming a newly launched
channel to surpassing the leader,
Star Plus at several occasions. Ashvini is
currently the co-owner of Grazing Goat Pictures with Bollywood actor, Akshay
Kumar and has produced some hugely successful films. Currently, she is
co-producing the successful show, '
Jamai Raja' on
Zee TV under her banner with with
Meenakshi Sagar from Sagar Pictures.
Meenakshi Sagar

Belonging to the illustrious clan of the Sagars, where TV legend Ramanand Sagar
transformed television viewing experience by introducing us to the epic '
Ramayana',
Meenakshi Sagar is the legend's great granddaughter, taking the legacy forward. It is only obvious that
expectations are sky high, when one helms such a major responsibility. Meenakshi
has managed to do total justice to her great grandfather's name and has
presented us a number of successful shows like '
Prithviraj Chauhan', 'Jai Shri
Krishna', '
Dharam Veer', '
Ramayan' among many more. She had also produced 'Akbar
Birbal' on
Big Magic and is currently co-producing '
Jamai Raja' on
Zee TV.
Preeti Simoes

Preeti Simoes made her debut in the entertainment industry as an
assistant director but got her big break when she was appointed as the creative
director of the successful franchise, 'Comedy Circus'. The show ran for almost
seven years and was hugely popular. Later, joining hands with Kapil Sharma, she created 'Comedy Nights With
Kapil' under K9 Productions. The show reached immense heights of popularity and
became one of the most loved shows of all time. Her current project includes
the upcoming show, 'The Kapil Sharma Show' with Kapil after the major
controversy which led to 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' going off-air.
Priti Sinha

Priti Sinha is the daughter of veteran producer Vinay Kumar Sinha, who owns the company, Reel Life Entertainment. Responsible
for giving some major hit films, Priti decided to venture into television and
presented an ambitious project, '
Darr Sabko Lagta Hai'. The show was hosted by
Bipasha Basu and got a fantastic response. Capitalising on the success of the
first season, she came up with a second season which aired a month ago. She has
now become one of those few people to change the way horror is presented on the
small screen for good.
Nivedita Basu

One of the most popular industry veterans, Nivedita Basu has been in the
industry for over fifteen years. Embarking a journey from deputy creative
director to creative director, Nivedita worked under soap queen, Ekta Kapoor
and became the reason for presenting some of the most iconic shows on Indian
television. Recently, she made her debut as a producer with her magnum opus TV
show, 'Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchan Hai' which is also the debut of Bollywood actress,
Amrita Rao.
These women are just a few of the many women, who are the perfect representation of the 'change' in the adapted norms. India Forums salutes and admires all the
women in the world for being the wonderful being they are..!
