Radhikka Madan recalls walking into first audition armed with hockey sticks: 'Crime Patrol bada dekhti thi'

Radhikka Madan recently opened up about a rather unusual start to her acting career. During a candid chat with Farah Khan for the filmmaker’s vlog, Radhikka recalled her first-ever audition and why she decided to carry hockey sticks along with two of her friends.

Back when she was still in Delhi, Radhikka received a casting message on Facebook from someone she didn’t know. “There was this casting person who sent me a direct message for an audition in Delhi. Badi shady si jagah pe audition ho raha tha,” she said. Unsure of the situation and influenced by watching too many episodes of Crime Patrol, Radhikka made a safety plan. “Main uss time Crime Patrol bada dekhti thi. Toh main aapne do friends ke saath gayi hockey sticks leke. Delhi main thoda pitaayi ka chalta hai,” she added, explaining how she was mentally prepared for anything.

She even joked about planning a dramatic exit with her friends. “Maine bula liya friends ko ki main andar jaaungi fir tum peeche se aake, aur agle din pura newspaper ke front page pe hum hi hum,” she laughed. However, things took an unexpected turn. “But main ghussi toh dekha vahan sachmein audition ho raha tha for a television show. Then I got awkward. I was about to leave, but they called my name.”

That audition turned out to be for Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, which marked her television debut in 2014 opposite Shakti Arora. The show ran till 2016 and earned her recognition in the Indian TV industry.

Radhikka Madan later transitioned to Bollywood with Pataakha and was later seen in films like Angrezi Medium, Shiddat, Kuttey, and Sarfira. She is now gearing up for Subedaar, directed by Suresh Triveni and starring Anil Kapoor. The action thriller is currently under production, with the release date yet to be confirmed.
