Part - 2That Night..
Abal laughed as Ruhi told her about her worst day at work today. Being Cousins had its advantages cuz at the end of each day, they would talk about their whole day and share about all the fun things.
"So, how was your Bakhton Ki Haveli?" Ruhi asked, from the other end.
"Its beautiful, Ruhi. Its situated on the very quiet countryside of Lahore, bohot spacious bhi hai aur khoobsurat bhi. Par wahaan ke log samajh se pare hai, khaaskar woh Badey Sahab." Abal replied.
"Hmm.. Par yaar yeh zamindar aur jaagirdaar aise hi hote hain. Mysterious aur Lazy. Tumhe Bas apna kaam karna hai, that's it. Yeh bataao? Koi Waaris types nahi hai kya?" Ruhi asked, inquisitive.
"Haan, hai toh. Wali naam hai shayad, par woh bhi waisa hi hai. Silent And Brooding types." Abal spoke up.
"Ahaan! Hot Hai?" Ruhi asked, naughtily.
"You need to shut up really." Abal added as they both laughed.
Next Morning..
The gleaming black BMW was parked neatly by Daud in the parking area as Abal got out and thanked him. She walked into the mansion to find it still quiet as no one was seen on the grounds.
Abal looked at her watch which showed 8. She wasn't that early but maybe it was early according to the inhabitants who were accustomed to a lavish lifestyle. Well, she was here to work and it would be better if she did that. She walked over to the stable and wasn't at all impressed by its condition. It had rained last night had made the place dirty as mud and straw along with water created muddles and a weird staunch smell came from it too.
The horses tied were restless and were clicking their feet continuously to show their disturbance.
She shook her head and called over Daud asking him to call the caretaker if the stable. A few minutes later, a swanky young man called Nabeel came in with an apologetic face.
"Kya haal kar diya hai yahaan ka? Agar aapka ghar aise ganda rahe toh aap reh payenge? Yeh bezubaan bol nahi paate par iska matlab yeh hargiz nahi ki hum inka khyaal naa rakhe." Abal spoke up.
"Aap sahi keh rahi hai Baji. Maaf kar dein aainda aisa nahi hoga." Nabeel apologized and she nodded.
Tying up her dupatta, Abal opened the wooden gates which was the enternce into the cell of the horses and unbuckled them bringing them out in the open, which would make Nabeel's work easier.
Badey Sahab wasn't wrong. He truly had maybe the costliest international breeds of horses and she could make out that they were taken care of and fed well too. But the only problem remained was of their vaccination and medical health which would now be taken over by her.
Abal was fond of horses. During her Vet Training Days, she used to work at the Animal Adoption and Welfare center as a part time vet which was just a few walking distance from her hostel and it boasted of all kinds of animals but had a large amount of horses as it was a posh area and Derby parties were held often. The Worn Out, Old, Injured Horses were discarded off as shit by the high society without even a thought that during its health that creature won them huge amounts.
While working there, she tended to those horses and hence the fondness. She lovingly stroked every horse but amongst them was a Chestnut Brown Colored Beauty that caught her attention. Abeer was stroking the beast when Daud came up to her.
"Toh aapko bhi Sultan se pyaar ho hi gaya Baji?" He spoke.
"Ohoo. Toh inn janaab ka naam Sultan hai, Hello Sultan." Abal smiled at him and as if understanding her words, Sultan nodded shaking it's majestic head.
"Yeh Chotey Maalik ka laadla aur pasandeeda ghoda hai. Aapko pataa hai jab Chotey Maalik 2 saal ke the, tab unke Abba Huzoor Sultan ko Dubai se laaye the, uss waqt yeh bhi 2 saal ka tha. Keh sakte hain ki Sultan aur Chotey Maalik saath saath bade huye hain." He added making Abal smile.
"Bohot Pyaara Hai Sultan." Abal replied, stroking his head lovingly and the beast leaned in more to her.
Nabeel came out and told them that the stable had been cleaned. Daud and Abal then took the horses back and buckled them up, closing the wooden doors of their cells after which their drinking containers were cleaned and then filled with clean drinking water.
Abal knew many would call her stupid, for working this hard just for the sake of animals but this is what she is, passionate about what she does.
She was oblivious of the two eyes watching her, Two deep chocolate brown eyes that had been watching her ever since she came in.
Wali was standing at the huge victorian window of his bedroom, holding his mug of steaming black coffee. His silky longish locks were a bit disheveled but as he ran a hand through it all settled down in place. His Eyes were a bit sleepy yet intact on her.
What was her name now? Wali stressed on his memory a bit. Abal, yes. Dr. Abal Warsi. An uncommon name she had along with an uncommon vibe. Ever since he woke up, he saw her working incessantly with the horses. He saw her stroking Sultan and was surprised, the beast didn't threw up in fit nor stamped his foot angrily on the ground. She was successful in befriending him.
Later That Day..
Abal was still on the grounds, sitting on a haystack and writing the vaccination list needed for the horses here in her diary after which she would hand this over to Daud and ask him to bring along the medications from her hospital.
She was engrossed in her work when a loud creak of a car, made her look up. A Black Honda Civic, had stopped up at the gates and out stepped a woman who seemed in her late twenties. She was short yet highly fashionable as could be made out from her outfit and had highlights in her short brown hair.
That woman asked the driver to park the car as she adjusted her handbag on her wrist stylishly and took off her sunglasses. She looked around and spotted Abal, made a peculiar face at her and walked off into the mansion. Abal shrugged her shoulders and got back to her work. A few minutes later, she called Daud and handed him the list who went off to get the medicines.
Just then Salima, who was Daud's wife and worked in the Bakht household came up to her and took her inside.
Lunchtime was nearing and Salima insisted them to have lunch with her which Abal thoroughly declined but after much insistence agreed.
As the table was setup for Lunch, Badey Sahab came in and sat down at his usual place, that was only and only meant for him. Abal was awkward to go and sit down at the same table where the Bakht family had lunch, but Salima took her.
Abal wished him politely as she came in and he wished her back.
"Maalik, Maine socha ki kyun naa aaj Abal Baji bhi humare saath khaana khaye?" Salima spoke up.
"Haan, kyun nahi bilqul. Maine kahaa tha naa yeh humari mehmaan hain. Ab se yeh dono waqt ka khaana humare saath hi khayengi." Sikander replied.
"Shukriya, par iss takaluff ki waqai koi zarurat nahi hai." Abal tried but it was overruled by Sikander.
"Iss mein koi talaluff ki baat nahi hai. Humne keh diya ki aap khaana humare saath hi khayengi toh bas." Sikander Bakht smiled at her.
"Jee Shukriya." Abal nodded with a small smile.
"Salima? Wali kahaan hai? Usse bhi toh khaane ke liye bulaao?" Sikander Bakht asked.
"Jee, Maalik woh Chotey Maalik apne kamre mein hain. Darasal Neelum Bibi aayi hui hain." Salima replied.
"Oh Accha. Dr. Warsi if you don't mind aap Wali ko bula layengi?" He spoke.
"Main? Jee theek hai, par mujhe unka kamra nahi pataa." Abal replied.
"Corridor se jaake, aage se left mein teesra kamra uska hai." Badey Sahab instructed to which Abal nodded and got up.
Meanwhile, Wali's Room..
"Wali? Shaadi ke baad naa, we'll have three kids!" Neelum spoke, somewhat excited.
Wali who was reading a book, didn't even bother to answer or look up.
"Wali, are you even listening?" Neelum turned to find her fiance engrossed in his book. She walked up to him and snatched it out of his hold.
"Neelum, yeh kya bachpana hai? Give it to me!" Wali replied, and one could tell that he was already bored.
"Bachpana nahi, humara future hai Wali..!! Aren't you excited?" Neelum spoke up with that weird accent, that sometimes even Wali couldn't understand.
"Neelum? Pehle shaadi toh ho jaane do? You're already into planning kids? First we need to know each other, develop understanding and compatibility." Wali spoke, taking rather snatching the book back from her.
"What Understanding and Compatibility? Hum dono bachpan se engaged hai Wali..!! We know each other well." Neelum spoke.
"Yeah Right!" Wali smirked to himself again engrossing himself in his book.
"You know mujhe lagta hai ki tum kids planning ki baat se isliye gussa ho jaate ho, kyunki tum mein woh qabiliyat hi nahi hai..!!" Neelum spoke accusingly.
Wali closed his book with a loud thump and looked at her, sternly.
"Come Again?" He asked, his voice warningly stern.
"You heard it right! Tum uss qaabil hi nahi ho!" Neelum spoke, annoyingly accusive this time.
"Are you out of your mind?" Wali hissed, angrily as this was nothing more than an insult slapped on his face.
"If I'm Wrong. Prove It To Me!" And with that Neelum threw herself on him wanting to get physical with him. Wali had a strong frame and it wasn't difficult for him to yank her off which he did, But Neelum being a witch had unbuttoned his shirt and also broken 2 buttons from the top.
"Get Off Me Neelum!" Wali thundered and pushed her away from him.
Abal came up to the door which was slight ajar and knocked onto it for 3 times. Waiting for a bit and getting no response, she opened the door a bit and came in only to regret what she just did.
There was this very woman, whom she saw half an hour ago was clinging to Wali.
"I'm Sorry. I'm so sorry. I actually thought that the room might be empty cuz no one answered my knock." Abal apologized, hurridly looking away.
Wali was surprised to see her in his room but spoke up nonetheless.
"Its okay. Its not your fault actually." He spoke, looking at his shirt.
Abal's eyes fell on it too and her cheeks flared a bit as she dropped into an intimate moment.
Neelum was looking at her from top to bottom as if Abal was a criminal and committed a crime.
"Yeh Kaun Hai?" She demanded from Wali, who seemed to be in no mood to answer her question as he looked through his wardrobe for another shirt.
"Main Bas yeh kehne aayi thi ki, lunch pe aapka sab intezaar kar rahein hain." Abal spoke to which Wali nodded and asked her to go on as he'll be joining them shortly. Abal nodded and hurridly left the room.
She came back and informed that Wali will join them, sitting down in her chair. 10 Minutes later, Wali came in sat down in a chair, facing her. Abal didn't looked at him, deciding not to embarrass herself any further.
The servants served them and she ate quietly while Wali and Sikander mostly talked about business, lands and other stuff which were none of her concern.
As Abal took a sip of her juice, her eyes fell on Wali and she couldn't help but think about what she witnessed back in the room.
That woman whose name was probably Neelum was litreally clinging to him and Wali's shirt was unbuttoned too. Were they up to something that she shouldn't have witnessed? But who was Neelum? Girlfriend? Mistress? Fiancee? Fiancee sounded more appropriate as he wouldn't bring a mistress or girlfriend into his bedroom that too amongst so many people. But then who knows?
But wait a minute! Why the Hell was she thinking about this?
"Accha hota, agar Neelum bhi humare saath lunch kar leti." Sikander spoke up.
"Usse kuch kaam tha, so she left." Wali replied his grandfather, as he ate though he sounded disinterested which wasn't unnoticed by Abal.
"Hmm.. Kaafi lambi baatein chal rahi thi tum dono ki?" Sikander added.
Abal choked on her juice and coughed badly as tears came out from her eyes, Wali kept his spoon down and quickly offered her some tissues while Salima patted her back.
She regained her normal self as Salima made her drink some water.
"Aap theek hain?" Wali asked as he offered her some tissues which she took nodding. They all went back to eating, as Wali's eyes skated over to her. Though she had wiped her face but his sharp eyes could spot the traces of the juice she choked on, on her lips. Her lips were unpainted and that made the marks more visible. Though unpainted, her lips had that luscious pink color which was absent from Neelum's though she applied the costliest branded lipsticks on herself. He knew it was creepy and pervy to stare and notice a woman's lips but he just couldn't take his eyes off.
And what was he? A Pervert? He just saved himself from the lust attack of his fiancee and was now noticing other women's lips. Wow! There was surity to the fact that he was going mad.
Wali shook his head and got back to his lunch.
