This sounds pretty fantastic, Ma'am.
I was planning to watch the show myself and it makes me so happy that I can finally talk to you about a show I am actually interested in.
Will talk more after I watch the episode.

Just finished watching the first epi and I'm SOLD...if for nothing else but to watch the GRAVITAS of the one and only Mr. Amitabh Bachchan...truly there is no one else like him...and yes this show very much appears to be a dedication to this icon...in many of the scenes, it is his PERSONA that looms large even as Yudh speaks but a few lines...but so much is conveyed through his eyes, the body language and that epic baritone of his.

That aside, I'm enjoying the way the story is being built up too...it's not dry in any fashion and there were plenty of interesting, mysterious or thrilling moments otherwise in the epi...the supporting cast of characters seems well put together...most notably the actor playing Anand, K.K. Menon, Sarika, Taruni.

Lovely analysis...especially liked how you explained the Joker motif...I didn't know what that meant...but it was eerie to watch...

HI Shyamala..i 🤗...thx for the PM..I kept thinking I will join yu in your discussions of the earlier serial but never got around to it..mainly coz I stopped seeing long time ago..
As for Yudh, haven't started seeing it, though my hubby watches it. He likes such kinds. Its not a convenient time for me, but I hope to catch up on some episodes..in any case, I will watch it thru your eyes:)
There is something ironic abt Joker..my daughter gets scared of jokers, that's when I realized that jokers can hv a sinister feel abt them, when viewed a certain way..

I am delighted that you liked this one so much, my dear Anu! Now go and read the next one, Dark Chocolate. It is more of a tribute to the inimitable Mr. Bachchan. And yes, I remember, and love that bitter line from Trishul.

It is so nice to have you on my threads again!

Now see if you like my next post, Dark Chocolate, as much. Episode 2 was really very, very good. I am curious as to whether you share my take on the Joker, who was far more prominent in the second episode.

As for Amitabh Bachchan, he is now able to experiment with himself and his talent in a way in which he never could in his salad days, when he had to be heroic and larger than life all thru the film. His ultra-loyal audience demanded it, and I still remember the complaint about Silsila in 1981 that he did not beat up any thug in it (though he did shove an impertinent chap against the hood of a car)! He can now do everything from a Paa to Yudh, and enjoy himself thoroughly into the bargain!

He is also a very entertaining and thoughtful dinner companion. I once had dinner with him and the First Lady of a neighbouring country in the Taj Palace in New Delhi, in April 1991, and I was much impressed by the grace and ease with which he coped with a company of just 6 strange women!😉

Aunty
Are you sure that like JA this show will not begin with a bang and then get diluted and fall into naari shakthi lot.

I don't have it in me to sit through another show and then weep disappointed. 😕😭

As such I am also watching Mahabharat since war. 😃

I haven't read your post yet. Will comment on it after I summon courage and get to see the episodes. 😳

Hello Shyamala Aunty...🤗
Great to see your stand alone post on IF 🥳

But frankly, could not make head or tail of your post, as I need to watch the episodes before I can comment anything...🤣

So I shall watch, n then comment...😆

But welcome back to IF anyways...🤗

Thank you :-) It is lovely to participate in your threads again :-)

I have read your analysis on the second epi and have posted my thoughts there as well :-)

Oh you've had the fortune of meeting Mr. Bachchan? How lovely! Thank you for that anecdote...I enjoyed reading it...and yes indeed he's able to experiment so much more with the kind of work he gets to do as compared to his heydays...all the better for us to enjoy as fans and viewers :-)
