Thank you, my dear, and what a nice, breezy id you have!

My post for Episode 4, which was a humdinger, will be up only tomorrow, and I am sure you can catch up with all the backlog online by Sunday, even if you watch each twice, which seems to me to be mandatory!

It will be great fun, the only pity being that there are to be only 16 episodes more, alas!

Thank you 😊 and yup, I'm trying to catch up and should hopefully be up-to-date by tonight (3 done, 2 more to go)

Only 16 more 😲? Now that's a shame. Guess we can only get such amazing shows in small doses 😒

Aunty
Finally watched episode 1.
Thanks for dragging me here and to Yudh.😃

A fine multilayered plot and Amitji. Need one ask for more. Even as he was walking in the hospital looking for Taruni his walk carried his nervous condition. Every angle and every part of him acts. Even his little nuances convey a whole range of feelings. He said that he didn't leak the news yet was happy about it. For that split second he had the exuberance of a 16 year old. His knowing look at Mona when she sends sms to Anand. And the way he looked at his daughter. ...it spoke a whole love story with gauri..

Rishi was a perfect careless responsibility sans youth. Spoilt by his mom for sure. Each character was etched right in episode 1.

But why do I feel a nag about Anand?

My dear Shan,

I have an action plan for you for the weekend. Watch the first 4 episodes of Yudh online, which is the only way out as there are no repeats and no omnibus either. It will take you 3 hours in all, so split it up for convenience, and watch them when you have the time.

Then come to my 3 other posts for this week; No. 4 will be up tomorrow, Sunday, and tell us what you think of the show. There are going to be only 16 episodes more. You will miss something special if you skip Yudh.

No, the Joker here is not sinister; he is a teacher and a guide and Yudh's subconscious all rolled into one. No.4 was a crackerjack of an episode, and yet I missed him!

And no, please don't plan on seeing it thru my eyes. There can be no such thing, regardless of how hard I try!

It is the visuals - the script, the direction, the editing, and of course the actors, with Amitabh in the first place, plying their craft - that makes Yudh such a marvellous watch. So please do make an effort!

HI Shyamala..i 🤗...thx for the PM..I kept thinking I will join yu in your discussions of the earlier serial but never got around to it..mainly coz I stopped seeing long time ago..

As for Yudh, haven't started seeing it, though my hubby watches it. He likes such kinds. Its not a convenient time for me, but I hope to catch up on some episodes..in any case, I will watch it thru your eyes:)
There is something ironic abt Joker..my daughter gets scared of jokers, that's when I realized that jokers can hv a sinister feel abt them, when viewed a certain way..

My dear Fariyal,

I am so glad to have got you back with me at long last, and I am truly flattered that Yudh made you remember me!

Never mind if you are not a fan of Amitabh Bachchan's ; that is not mandatory for enjoying Yudh. Do catch with the first 4 episodes online, and then read my next 3 posts, the last of which, on the humdinger of an episode 4, will be up only tomorrow Saturday.

Yudh, I have now discovered to my disappointment, will have only 20 episodes. I am sure to get withdrawal symptoms after it is gone!

No, you will not be able to trip Yudh up on the morality vs religiosity trap, for there is no religiosity on view at all in the first 4 episodes. Even those lamenting about the apparently selective morality in Yudh having, as it was initially assumed, 2 wives, or a wife and a lover and an illegitimate daughter, have been kayoed, for the daughter is by his first wife and only love, who got an amicable divorce from him.

Finally, Nietzsche might be right about morality, but, we are definitely not being led by the nose here! And it still is a complex morality play. So do come along and join us!

Shyamala,

I wondered last night if this show would be of interest to you & lo & behold...

I haven't watched it yet... I am not much of a fan of Mr Bachchan's (so bite me!) but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about this much publicized project.

You're calling it a "complex morality play" has piqued my interest & I shall, with glee watch it to see how they differentiate morality from religiousity. Morality is character & conduct bred through education, humanity & love of society & has little bearing on ones religious devoutness or lack there of.
But then Nietzsche said: Morality is the best of all devices for leading mankind by the nose😉

Dear Shyamala, I finally watched the first two episodes of the show. Thank so much for introducing me to it. I am usually not in touch with the Indian television media. If it wasn't for your PM, I would have missed out on Amitabh Bachchan's debut in this stunning mini series on the small screen.

I am delighted to have you here with me, and I am sure we shall enjoy ourselves for the next 4 weeks
.
I myself learnt about Yudh only from the Sony ads, and I am not surprised that you did not know of it.

Once I watched Episode 1, I knew I was going to do daily analyses for Yudh, and I have been trying to get as many people on board as possible. You would be surprised to know that it is not at all easy. People complain all the time about Indian TV being stupid, but along comes an intelligent, demanding serial of just 20 episodes, with a complex and very dense screenplay and a superb cast, and yet so many find so many excuses to avoid it! I strongly suspect that all this cribbing is fake, and what they really like is the sort of melodramatic nonsense Balaji dishes out.

@bold, It is interesting you should say that. By seeing the limited the participation in your threads, I wonder myself if majority of the audience find the melodrama in JA more entertaining than this complex thriller. But I am certain that we will get more followers of Yudh in good time.

I hope so, my dear, but I am not at all optimistic. Regardless, I am going to soldier on and do episode analyses for each of the 20 episodes, if only to enjoy myself! Do see the one for Episode 4, which is up now.

Thank you so much, my dear Leela. It is truly a gorgeous show, but only 20 episodes, alas!

The good thing about such a small forum is that you can spot all my 4 posts so far on Page 1 of the index itself!😉
