Chapter 20

In the morning nurse comes to check Akshara.

Nurse: sir you please sit outside. She might wake up and maybe react like yesterday.

Abhimanyu: ok

Both families come to meet Akshara.

Manjari: Akshara how are you feeling now?

Aarohi: di is it painting a lot?

Manish: beta get well soon and come home.

Akshara: stop!!!! How much will you guys talk? I am perfectly fine and I want to go home soon. Maa how's Nimisha?

Manjari: she is fine. She wanted to come but I asked her not to.

Akshara: yes maa you did the right thing.

Nurse:you please come out. Let the patient rest.

They all leave only Anisha stays back.

Akshara: Anisha where is Abhimanyu?

Anisha: he is sitting outside. Should I call him?

Akshara: No, no, I was asking just like that.

It's been a week since that accident and today Akshara will be discharged.

Dr:Mr. Birla she is perfectly fine now. You just have to give her medicine from time to time and alternately change the dressing. You can do that on your own because Wound has healed now.

Abhimanyu: ok doctor. Anything else.

Dr: that’s it. Mrs. Birla you also take care of yourself and don’t exert yourself too much.

Akshara: yes doctor.

In this one week Abhimanyu was always there with Akshara during the night but whenever she was awake, he wouldn't be there. Akshara felt weird and thought that he was distancing himself from her. On the other hand Abhimanyu never wanted to leave her alone but he feared that she might again panic due to his touch so he stood away from her. Now they reached home and their Pooja was done and they sat on sofa.

Neil: bhAbhi now please tell us what happened that day.

Abhimanyu: Neil let her rest. We will talk in the evening. Anisha, Aarohi take Akshara to her room.

They take her upstairs and come down. In the room Akshara thinks he doesn't want to be with her anymore and cries. She goes to the washroom and cries her heart out. Unknowingly her hand touches the shower button and it turns on. She sits under it and cries profusely thinking that she is not worth him anymore. After sometime Abhimanyu enters the room.

Abhimanyu: Anisha where is Akshara?

Aarohi: jiju she is in her room.

Abhimanyu: Aarohi she is not here. What nonsense are you both talking?

Anisha: just now bhAbhi was here.

They start looking for her and finally Abhimanyu checks the washroom and is shocked.He shouts Akshara. Everyone comes to his room. He lifts her and places her on the bed.

Manjari: how did this happen?

Aarohi: didi what happened? Why are you like this?

Akshara: I am fine. Sorry to bother u all.

Abhimanyu: you guys leave it. I will talk to her myself.

They leave and Abhimanyu bolts the door.

Abhimanyu: here change your clothes, then I need to talk to you.

Akshara: This is not my night suit. I don't wear trouser and shirt.

Abhimanyu: I got this Dr said you would be more comfortable in this. Please change.

Akshara(thinking in washroom): he is not my Abhimanyu. He would have scolded me so much till now. He didn't ask me a thing about me and she again cries.

Abhimanyu(thinking in room): why does she always have to put herself in pain?

He hears her crying in washroom and goes to knock but the door is open so he enters.

Abhimanyu(hugging her from behind): Akshara what happened? Why are you crying like this?

Akshara: stay away from me like you have been staying away from the past 1 week. Now I am not worth you.

Abhimanyu(still hugging her and placed his chin on her shoulder): why are you talking like this? What’s wrong with you?

Akshara: nothing is wrong with me. You have changed. Did you come to me in this past 1 week? Did you talk to me even once? Did you even touch me once? You do one thing, you drop me at my father's place and leave me forever.

Abhimanyu(holding her elbow): stop. I am listening to you, doesn't mean you will say anything. Why are you doing this? What do you want?

Akshara: ask yourself this. You might be thinking that now Viren did all this so I am not worth you (crying). That’s why you are distancing yourself from me.

Abhimanyu: I did not distance myself from you. Please listen to me. Don't think like that.

Akshara: then what should I think Abhimanyu. Why don't I see my old Abhimanyu in you?Why do I feel you are somebody else (putting her head on his shoulder)?

Before Abhimanyu could say anything to her, his hand unknowingly touches her wound and he feels wetness in his hand. He sees its blood. He makes her stand straigh tand sees the wound is slightly bleeding.

Abhimanyu: Akshara come fast. See your wound is bleeding.

He makes her lie down on the bed and is panicked.

Abhimanyu(looking through the drawers): where is the first aid box? Why can't I find it?

Akshara: relax Abhimanyu it’s there only. You will find it.

Abhimanyu: you keep quiet and finally he finds it.

He goes to her and sits by her side. He lifts her shirt and slowly removes the adhesive tape from the bandage.

Abhimanyu: You ok? Should I do this or should I call the doctor?

Akshara: no u only do it. It's nothing.

Abhimanyu(slowly removing the bandage and blowing on the wound): he cries seeing the wound. I am so sorry Akshara.

Akshara: shhh relax. Don't do this please.

Abhimanyu bends down and kisses her wound and his tears fall on her stomach. He says sorry to her.

Akshara: Abhimanyu please don’t do this. Please.

He does her dressing very delicately. And once again kisses the wound and straightens her shirt. She gets up and hugs him tight.

Akshara(rubbing his back): stop now. Please. You don't have to be sorry for anything.Whatever happened, it was not your mistake but my Carelessness.

Abhimanyu(still hugging): I gave you lot of pain this week by staying away from you but I was helpless Akshara.

Akshara(sitting straight): what do you mean?

Abhimanyu: you were too much traumatized by whatever happened. So whenever I was near you or touched you, it used to frighten you a lot and he narrated the hospital incident to her.

Anikhi: I am so sorry. I thought you are ignoring me and that you don’t trust me anymore and you hate me.

Abhimanyu: that is not possible. Never. Leave all this.Tell me what happened that day. Why had you gone to that place when there was no reunion planned? And why did you say this happened because of your carelessness.

Akshara(holding his hand): I will tell you everything but you will listen to mecalmly.

Abhimanyu: I will try to

Akshara: that day kalyani aunty got juice for me saying nimi had send it. So I drank it. Then she told me that pooja was calling on landline and told me about the reunion. So I went. But when I reached there no one was there. Then I started feeling dizzy and I fainted. Then when Igained consciousness Viren was there and then she hugs him tight and cries profusely.

Abhimanyu: shhh stop crying. Viren is bearing the punishment of his deeds. He is in jail. And now one person is left and she too will get the punishment. You won't say anything this time. I had told you last time only that I won't forgive any other mistakes of her and this is not a mistake but a crime.

Akshara: Abhimanyu, but nimisha?

Abhimanyu: as much as I know Nimisha, she too won't agree to your thinking.

Just then there is a sound outside there room. Abhimanyu goes to check and sees Nimisha standing and a tray has fallen from her hands.

Abhimanyu(taking her in): nimi are you fine?

Nimi: I am so sorry bhaiya. Please forgive me.Everything was done by my mother.

Akshara(getting up holding her wound): nimi its nothing like that. Do not blame yourself.

Nimi: didi i don't know what are you made off but I agree with bhaiya. And bhaiya what were you talking about another mistake. Has mummy done anything else?

Abhimanyu: no nimi its nothing like that.

Nimi: please tell me the truth. Please.

Akshara: nimi leave it how does it matter? Everything is fine now.

Nimi: didi please you let it be. Bhaiya you tell me.

Abhimanyu: last time the poison that Akshara had consumed was given by kalyani aunty.

Nimi: and you knew it bhaiya but you didn't do anything.

Nimisha goes downstairs to her mother's room. Abhimanyu takes Akshara along and follows Nimisha.

Nimi: what I should have done long back maa? Bhaiya did you call the police.

Kalyani: are you out of your mind? What nonsense are you talking? What police?

Nimi: I am your daughter, Right? Then how could you even think about doing such a thing with someone else's daughter.

Neil: nimi what are you saying?

Nimi: what else should I say Neil? I am afraid of her now. When she can do such a thing with di, she can do anything with me.

Kalyani: have you gone mad? What will I do with you?

Manjari: can somebody tell me what’s going on?

Nimi: maa i will tell you. The poison that was being given to di was given by this woman. Whatever Viren did, he didn't do alone. She was with him

Manjari: what???? Kalyani Ji but why did you do this?

Kalyani: I Havent done any such thing. Nimi this Akshara will say anything and you will believe her.

Nimi: didi didn't tell me a word. I just overheard their conversation else they wouldn't have said a word to anyone.

Kalyani: whatever she says can’t be the truth. What proof does she have: She is infertile and now she is blaming me.

Abhimanyu: Enough Kalyani Aggarwal. Not a word against Akshara. I let go off your first mistake but not this time. I will give you proof.

He plays the footage and all are shocked.

Kalyani: how does this prove that I am mixing poison in her drink?

Abhimanyu: its ok, Viren is in the police station and sooner or later he will confess his crimes and then there is no need of any other proof.

Nimi: mummy please tell me what is the truth? Aapko mere hone wale bache ki kasam.

Kalyani: yes I did all this but only for your sake. So that they respect you.

Nimi: I am very happy in my life. I don’t need anything else.

Akshara: but aunty, how do you know viren?

Abhimanyu clenched his fist but Akshara held him back.

Nimisha goes to her mother's room.

Akshara: Neil go to nimi.

Abhimanyu: ok police can't come here but she will also not stay here with us. I don’t want to take any risk with your life.

Akshara: for once think about Nimisha.

Nimi(with luggage in her hand): I totally agree with this decision. Here is your luggage. Please leave before I change my mind and she takes her to the door. Abhimanyu: because sooner or later Viren will give up her name and Akshara that time you can't stop the police.

Nimisha closes the door on her face and goes to hug Akshara.

Nimi: I am so sorry didi.

Akshara: ok stop crying and we won't talk about this ever again now. And you don't take any stress. Neil take nimisha out after lunch.

Neil: as you say bhAbhi.

Akshara: lets have our lunch. I am hungry. Where are Anisha and Aarohi?

Nimi: Anisha had to finish a project so Aarohi is helping her. They have gone to the library.

Post lunch Nimisha and Neil leave. Manjari goes to her room. Akshara is climbing the stairs but is unable to. Abhimanyu reaches the room and looks back to see Akshara on 2nd stair only and rushes to her.

Abhimanyu: are you tired? What happened?

Akshara: I am not able to climb. It’s paining slightly.

Abhimanyu: wait. He lifts her and takes her to the room and makes her lie down on the bed. Better?

Akshara: yes I think I will rest I will be ok.

Abhimanyu: ok I am going to the office. If there is anything just give me a call.

Akshara: office at this time?

Abhimanyu: lot of work is pending. This week no work has been done. I will come back soon. You take your medicine and I will ask Anisha and Aarohi to stay here.

Akshara: they have gone to the library. I don’t need anything. I will sleep for now. You go.

He kisses her forehead and leaves.

Chapter 21

Abhimanyu comes back from the office and sees everyone is having dinner.

Abhimanyu: maa howz Akshara? Did she have her dinner?

Manjari: she is sleeping, so I didn't disturb her. Come you have your dinner.

Abhimanyu: no maa I will first freshen up and then check on Akshara.

He goes to his room and sees her sleeping. He kisses her forehead and goes to freshen up. Once he comes back he hears Akshara is murmuring something. He holds her hand and sits beside her.

Akshara: stay away from me. Don't touch me.

Abhimanyu: relax (patting her forehead). You are at home.

Akshara(still murmuring): do not come near me. Please get away from me. Abhimanyu where are you and wakes up with a jerk.

Abhimanyu(hugs her tight): I am here only. Shhh.

Akshara hugs him tight and cries.

Abhimanyu: Akshara what happened? Why are you so frightened? I am here only and now everything is fine. Please relax.

Akshara: Abhimanyu mujhe ghin aarahi hai apne aap se. I feel dirty whenever I remember that incident (while rubbing her arms).

Abhimanyu(shaking her): stop this. What are you doing? You will hurt yourself.

Akshara: Abhimanyu please take this memory away from me. Please. I can't live like this. The thought in itself makes me like killing myself.

Abhimanyu(placing finger on her lips): shut up. I understand what you are going through but no way that i will let you go away from me.

Akshara(placing her head on his shoulder): Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu: please (wiping her tears). Tell me what is it you want.

Akshara cries profusely hugging him and places his hands on her waist. Abhimanyu engulfs her in his arms and rubs her back. He then holds her face kisses her tears.

Abhimanyu: enough Akshara, stop crying. You know I can't see you crying.

He holds her and kisses her forehead. She closes her eyes. He continues kissing her all over the face on her cheeks, ears, nose. Then he shifts towards her neck and gives her kisses all over the neck. He then slides her shirt slightly down the shoulders and starts kissing her shoulder and then shifts to the other shoulder.

Akshara is shivering under his touch but she is liking the feeling. The feeling of his Abhimanyu on her. The thought of his haq on her was making her feel proud and she felt this was the way to erase the memories of that horrible day.

Akshara takes her neck back to give him more access and he proceeds down but stops in the middle and looks at Akshara. Akshara looks back at him wondering why he stopped. She stares at his lips and without a thought kisses him on the lips.

Abhimanyu is taken aback by her sudden move but he too couldn't resist and continued the kiss but then they parted due to lack of oxygen.

Akshara: Abhimanyu please give us new memories.

Abhimanyu: no Akshara not now.

Akshara(puzzled):what do you mean?

Abhimanyu: do not misunderstand me. I too want this but not like this. It shouldn't be an emotional decision. Jazbaat main beh k nahi. I hope you understand.

Akshara: then I am sorry for what i did right now

Abhimanyu(cupping her face): shhh what are you being sorry for. Are you mad, I am not regretting anything that happened. I am all yours but try to understand my point. And pecks her lips.

Akshara: I got your point and hugs him.

Abhimanyu: I will get dinner for us till then you freshen up.

H egoes to kitchen to get dinner for them. He enters the room and sees Akshara is inspecting her wound.

Abhimanyu(panicked):what happened? Is it paining?

Akshara: no its not paining, just i am having slight irritation.

Abhimanyu: wait let me call the doctor. You lie down.Don't touch it.

Akshara: relax. Don't panic.

Abhimanyu: hello Dr, Abhimanyu Birla here.

Dr: yes Mr. Birla, all ok.

Abhimanyu: Dr, Akshara was complaining of some irritation near her wound.

Dr: did you do anything with the dressing?

Abhimanyu: yes actually I changed her dressing today only, because the wound was bleeding.

Dr: ok. I think you might have tightened it too much thats why she is feeling this irritation. Do one thing you bandage her wound again but this time wash the wound with betadine. It will soothe her and keep the wound open for 1 or 2 minutes.

Abhimanyu: Dr wont betadine cause pain to her wound?

Dr:Mr. Birla you do it. I know what i am doing? She will be fine. Relax.

Abhimanyu: thanks doctor.

Akshara: if you are done talking to the doctor, can we have dinner.

Abhimanyu(gives her a WTH look): first dressing then dinner.

He brings the first aid and sits by her side and lifts her shirt.

Abhimanyu: let me know if it pains.

Akshara: ok.

Once he is done with the dressing. He puts first aid box back and washes his hands.

Abhimanyu: lets have dinner now.

He sits and they feed each other.

Abhimanyu: Akshara there something on your lips.

Akshara: where and wipes near her lips.

Abhimanyu: wait its still there.

He wipes it and licks his thumb. She looks at him.

Abhimanyu: ok finish the dinner now.

They finish it and he goes to put the things back in kitchen. Once back he takes pillow and a blanket and places it on couch.

Akshara: what are you doing?

Abhimanyu: going to sleep. Why?

Akshara: but why on the couch.

Abhimanyu: you are hurt that's why.

Akshara: so???

Abhimanyu: if I came near you at night or touched your wound by mistake and it hurt you.

Akshara: please Abhimanyu. Your sleeping on the couch will hurt me more.

Abhimanyu: Akshara what if....

Akshara: ok do whatever you like and with that she sleeps on her side.

Abhimanyu: are you upset?

Akshara: no, why would I be? You sleep now. You might be tired.

Abhimanyu: and you.

Akshara: I am not feeling sleepy. I had slept during the day.

Abhimanyu: you sure na you are not upset.

Akshara: yes (with a choked voice)

Abhimanyu senses she is crying so he gets up and lies down on his side. He snakes towards her and puts his arm on her waist carefully. Then he places his face on her face and kisses her cheek.

Abhimanyu: sorry I irritate you a lot. Right?

Akshara :no I think I am too demanding.

Abhimanyu: please don't say like that. I am with you now. You know how tensed I get when it comes to you.

Akshara: i understand your concern but that doesn't mean you will distance yourself from me.

Akshara turns towards him carefully and places her head on his chest.

Abhimanyu: i never will. Can I say something?

Akshara: hmmm

Abhimanyu: earlier when you had that nightmare, I stepped back and denied you. Did I hurt you?

Akshara: sach bolun

Abhimanyu: hmm

Akshara: it did hurt me at first but then i understood your point and i felt you were right.

Abhimanyu: i want that to be the best moment for both of us na ki jazbaat main behke. And kisses her hairs.

Akshara: i know and kisses his chest.

Abhimanyu: lets sleep now. Good night.

Akshara: good night.
