Chapter 19

Flashback To The Previous Night

Akshara is tied to the chair and she is gaining consciousness.

Akshara: who is here? Why have you tied me like this?

Person: ohhh so you are awake. I was waiting for this since quite some time.

Akshara: who are you? What do you want?

Person: just you and nothing else.

Akshara: you do not have the guts to come in front of me.

Person: I can't deny you madam. Ok I will come in front of you.

Akshara: you??? But Viren why are you doing all this.

Viren: what do you mean by why i am doing this? I had proposed you with all my sincerity and what did you do. You rejected me. And slaps her hard.

Akshara: Viren are you mad? What are you trying to do? If Abhimanyu finds out he is going to kill you.

Viren(laughs): who are you trying to fool, yourself? Because I know that Abhimanyu Birla doesn't even look at you. (And touches her lips).

Akshara(resisting his touch): see don’t you dare touch me.

Viren: touch??? Akshara I haven't started yet. You just wait and watch what I will do with you (and tears both the sleeves of her shirt).

Akshara(tears flowing from her eyes): please don’t do this viren. Please. What will you get from this?

Viren: cry as much as you want to. Nobody will come here to rescue you. You have seen how desolated this place is (holding both her arms).

Akshara: please...

Viren(again slaps her): stop this drama of yours. I know you also want this, then why are you pretending. (throws her dupatta away).

Akshara: once just once you open my hands then I will tell you what I want.

Viren(laughing hard): do you think I am mad that I will agree to this (while cupping her face).

Akshara is irked by his touch and kicks him hard and he falls down.

Viren: you kicked me? Now I will show you what I will do. I had thought I will make this easy for you but you are not worth it.

With that he cups her face and is about to kiss her but his phone starts ringing and he goes out to attend it. Akshara starts scanning her surroundings and spots a knife near her. She takes it and with much difficulty cuts the rope and opens her hands. She stands near the door to hear who viren is talking to.

Viren: yes what is it? Did I not ask you not to call me in between?

Kalyani: I called to inform you that everyone has found out here that Akshara is missing and they are talking about involving the police.

Viren: let them go to whoever they want to go because by the time Abhimanyu Birla reaches here he will find that Akshara is no longer worth him.

Akshara understands that Abhimanyu is looking for her but gets thinking who Viren is talking to.

Viren: ok cut the phone now. My Akshara is waiting for me.

He enters and Akshara frightens by his sudden entrance and drops the knife.

Viren: you were listening to my talks (while pinning her to the wall). You might bethinking who I was talking to (while tracing his finger on her cheek). Ok I will tell you because no one would believe anything you say once you leave this place. I was talking to your Kalyani Aunty (and starts laughing).

Akshara is crying still in his hold and he wipes her tears but Akshara jerks his hand away.

Viren(holding her by her chin): what do you think of yourself? What are you proud of? Your beautiful face? This will not remain such after today. He pushes her hair to one side and is about to kiss her on the neck.

Akshara remembers how Abhimanyu had kissed her on the neck the other day and smiles through her tears and pushes viren back.

Viren: enough now.

Akshara tries to run but stumbles and falls down. Viren is quick to get up and pins her on the floor.

Viren: what will you do now while hovering above her. He touches her inappropriately.

Akshara spots the knife by her side and takes it and points it towards viren.

Akshara: move back. It won't take me a second to use it.

They both get up and she points the knife towards him.

Viren: Akshara this isn't a toy. Give it to me.

Akshara: what happened? Are you afraid? Ab kahan gayi tumhari mardangi.

Viren: give it to me, I said.

Akshara: step back. I don’t want your dirty blood on my hands.

Viren: what are you trying to say?

Akshara: Akshara Abhimanyu Birla par pehla aur aakhri haq sirf aur sirf Abhimanyu Birla ka hai samjhe tum. And saying this she stabs herself.

Viren panicked seeing her in pool of blood and runs away.

Flashback Ends.

Meanwhile operation is over.

Manjari: Dr how is Akshara?

Dr: operation was successful. She is unconscious and under observation. Mr. Birla you come with me.

Abhimanyu: Dr is everything fine? Why did you bring me here?

Dr: see Mr. Birla there are certain things which as a husband I think you should be knowing. Please sit.

Abhimanyu: Dr what is it please?

Dr: Mr. Birla, somebody has tried to force himself upon her and she has resisted it way too much because of which she has had external injuries.

Abhimanyu: are you trying to say that Akshara has been….

Dr: no no Mr. Birla we have run some tests but Mrs. Birla k saath kuch bhi galat nahi hua hai.

Inspector(entering the cabin): Dr can we take Mrs. Birla's statement.

Dr: no, not at all. She is still unconscious and immediately you can't talk to her. She might be under some shock we don't know yet. We have shifted her to the room but let’s just wait till she is conscious.

Abhimanyu: inspector I need that person in jail as soon as possible. And leaves the cabin.

Manjari: what did the doctor say Abhimanyu? Is Akshara fine?

Abhimanyu: yes maa she is fine. Now we have to wait for her to gain consciousness. Neil I will stay here, you take maa and Anisha back home.

Neil: ok.

It's been an hour since Abhimanyu is sitting with Akshara holding her hand. Akshara starts moving. Abhimanyu realizes she is gaining consciousness and gets up with a jerk.

Abhimanyu(placing hand on her forehead): thank god you are awake. Are you feeling better?

Akshara(pushing him): Stay away from me. Do not touch me and with that she takes out the drip and gets down from the bed.

Abhimanyu(moving behind her): Akshara listen to me.

Akshara: I said stay away from me. Do not touch me.She sits down on the floor holding her stomach and faints.

Abhimanyu rushes to her and lifts her. He places her on the bed and then goes to call the doctor.

Dr: Mr. Birla what exactly happened?

Abhimanyu narrates the whole incident to her.

Dr:nurse give her the sedative and re-stitch the wound. Mr. Birla you come with me.

Abhimanyu: Dr Why is she reacting like this? Why didn't she let me come near her?

Dr: Mr. Birla I was worried about this thing only. She is under too much trauma. She is frightened too much. She hasn’t recovered from whatever happened with her. She needs you the most at the moment but she won't at the same time.

Abhimanyu: Dr what are you trying to say? I am not getting you.

Dr: Mr. Birla she has become sensitive to any male touch. We still don't know what that person has done with her that she is traumatized to this extent. She needs your support but she would resent it. So you need to create a balance.

Abhimanyu: I understood and goes to Akshara.

Akshara(murmuring): Abhimanyu where are you? I am feeling frightened.

Abhimanyu(holding her hand): I am here only with tears in eyes. Just then his phone rings.

Abhimanyu: hello inspector did you find anything.

Inspector:Mr. Birla come to the police station I think we have found some clue.

Abhimanyu: I will be there in 15 minutes. Whoever this is Akshara I won't spare him (kissing her forehead). He then calls Anisha. Anisha you come to the hospital, I have to go to the police station.

Anisha: ok bhai I am coming.

Abhimanyu reaches the police station.

Inspector: Mr.Birla come, we had to show you something.

Abhimanyu: what??

Inspector:we went back to that place where we found Mrs. Birla and we found a CCTV their and its working. You see if you can recognize this person.

Abhimanyu: show me.

Inspector plays the CCTV and Abhimanyu is shocked he clenched his fist. He feels so helpless when he hears Akshara Abhimanyu Birla par pehla aur aakhri haq sirf Abhimanyu Birla ka hai. Tears form in his eyes. He bangs the table.

Inspector: please calm down Mr. Birla. You tell me do you know this person while he focusses on Viren's picture.

Abhimanyu: no I don't know him. Wait show it again. He is Viren.

Inspector: who viren?

Abhimanyu: he was with Akshara in university. Inspector can I click his picture.

Inspector: sure.

He takes the picture and leaves. He reaches the hospital and goes to Akshara.

Abhimanyu: Anisha you leave.

Anisha: bhai did the police find anything?

Abhimanyu: no not yet.

Anisha: ok I will leave.

The moment Anisha leaves. Abhimanyu rushes to Akshara and hugs her tight and cries.

Abhimanyu: I am so sorry Akshara. How much it would have hurt you? (Kissing her forehead). I promise you I will kill him.

On phone

Abhimanyu: hello detective X, Abhimanyu speaking.

Detective X: yes sir.

Abhimanyu: I am sending you a photo. You need to find him asap.

Detective X: ok sir.

In evening, Dr. comes to Abhimanyu

Dr: Mr. Birla the sedatives will wear down and she might be conscious anytime. I think you call someone from your home because what happened in the day can happen again and her stitches are sensitive.

Abhimanyu: ok doctor I will call someone.

Anisha comes and goes to Akshara and Abhimanyu sits outside. Akshara is awake now.

Anisha: bhAbhi you are fine?

Akshara: nods her head. How is everyone at home? (with difficulty).

Anisha: everyone is fine. You take rest. I am here only.

She sleeps again because she is very weak. At 3 a.m. Abhimanyu receives a call.

Detective X: Sir I am forwarding you his address.

Abhimanyu receives the address and leaves.

Detective X: that’s his flat. He has turned off all the lights and put a lock on the main gate so that nobody knows he is here. Here is the duplicate key.

Abhimanyu(opens the lock and enters): Viren, viren where are you?

Viren: I had told you don't bring food for me at night while turning on the light... you? And runs upstairs.

Abhimanyu(drags him down the stairs): how dare you do such thing with Akshara? What did you think I will never find out?

Viren: see Abhimanyu I didn’t do anything. Yes I did kidnap her but she stabbed herself with the knife. It wasn't me.

Abhimanyu(clenched his fist): how could you think that you will hurt Akshara and I will spare your life. You touched Akshara with these dirty hands and beats him blue.

Viren is bleeding profusely but Abhimanyu does not stop. He drags him to the police station.

Abhimanyu: inspector here is your culprit. Make sure he is severely punished for his crime.

Abhimanyu heads back to the hospital and sees Akshara sleeping. He kisses her forehead and says sorry for not being there for her. He holds her hand and sleeps like that.
