I know am gonna be harsh here so I apologise here first, but the truth is many of us find word toxic very fancy to use. We forget that nobody's perfect but WE WANT THEM PERFECT !! WHY ? Why trouble them and give them labels later ?

Abhimanyu is not toxic. Yes overtly possessive, he is harsh on many occasions, but still he is not a stalker. He is a confused soul who stayed troubled with his parent's reality throughout his childhood, couldn't protect his mother initially. Lost faith in relations so remained in his shell with studies and music. He is complex. When he met akshara, the most easy, goofy, happy, singing,caring and soft like his ma, he was besotted the very moment. Strikingly different from him. She fills in gaps in his life. Only person he smiles to, listens and chases. That's the reason he was in denial even after repeated rejection. Hard for him to let his only solace go. He comes to his usual self with words at times but never with his voice.

So with akshara....

HIS EYES, ATTITUDE AND VOICE ALL GOES DOWN

The girl who's rejected him multiple times goes against her family to save him from false charges, arranges a party to bring smile on his face, romances his shirt, catches him when he falls down, only person who cares about his physical wounds, cries to hear about his engagement and many other things which he is unaware of, won't he be hopeful for a future together with her?? Moreover she's yet to answer if he is a perfect match for her sister, why not for her?

He becomes the same abhimanyu as he is with others only when, despite of all the signs coming from her, akshara blatantly denies any connection between them. Rude,harsh and mad with flickering hope. Who doesn't? Who wouldn't? Isn't it part of being human?

... But here he becomes a toxic guy for us and Irony.. in our hearts we all long for a guy like him who is madly in love with us😏

I understand consent is important, but akshara's eyes tell him a different story. He is not delusional when he hopes akshu loves him equally.

Harshwardhan is not toxic, plain ambitious.. and never pretends to be otherwise. Straightforward like abhimanyu.

Pls reserve this word toxic for Arohi. She knows what abhimanyu and akshara are going thru still she wouldn't budge from her resolution. She doesn't mind who suffers, she'll continue with her manipulations, narcissism and wild obsession to get what she wants.She is half human, half ambition.

I hope we are kinder on people around us instead of calling them names.

I am not good with words, but I know as a Psychologist what a toxic personality is..and trust me you wouldn't like to see them in face..

I rest my case here. You can abuse me for the day for my plain words. I won't mind as am busy with period cramps already 😊

Yes. This is where I started having problems with his character too. I mean I was okay with him taking a stand infront of the family during Tilak because he was so sure and he is a vocal person.

And I have no issues with him agreeing to marry Aarohi either. Do whatever you want, it's upto you. But doing that on one hand and on the other hand, all the manhandling and emotional abuse of Akshara is just 🤢

Today his shaking and all after the bowl breaking made me scared. Legit scared. If my partner behaves likes that, I will run with my life. Coz, you'll if that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. 🤣

Lol. I remember writing praiseworthy essays about Abhimanyu in the beginning. But some fans won't see those and make such vague as points to suppress any kind of criticism. Lol

Yes. Abhimanyu is aggressive , harsh with akshara , he is possessive, he is unable to process his pain and his heartbreak. It's sad that aggression is being passed off as something normal ..this is the issue with whole of itv , bollywood , social media included. How r we projecting our heros ? Our heroines ? Our culture ? Ekdum bakwas. But it sells and cycle continues. I wish there comes a time when this correction happens ..

Abhi asked Akshu why did she saved her and she responded with koi bhi, and he returned her bracelet and pulled her to ask one last time, he termed as toxic and unthankful person.

Abhi believed that Aaru convinced Akshu when all the proofs are in for Aarohi, he was an idiot and toxic.

Abhi started to think about moving on, he is idhar udhar aadmi. Indirectly termed toxic.

Abhi believed Aarohi saved him and Akshu left, once again toxic and idiot.

He called that in hope Akshu will ask him about his health but all he got was I don't know why r you calling me type response. He was a clown.

Abhi moved on for his mother health, he was toxic and cheated and pendulum.

Abhi begged Akshu, he is toxic.

Abhi did not begged Akshu and tries to be happy but was constantly being poked by Akshu for being normal and when he gives back he is toxic.

Abhi should not even have Akshara name card in his hard, it made him a cheater and toxic person and Akshara have all the right to snatch it but kya hua agar Akshara ke haath mein Abhimanyu ke shakal ki mehandi hai? What happened if Akshara did not wiped it? Why the hell should Abhi wipe it? And give her back her own words? He is so toxic!!!

So you see, toxic word in this forum have been overly used. Just when the character don't act on what is "right" and under "moral code" of them, they are toxic!!

This is such a nice post! And I actually agree with everything you said. I was actually in love with him till he started considering aarohi.

I loved how he was so sorted and handling things and he even told Neil after she rejected him in birla house that uske nah hee mera destiny hai. I accept her no even though I know she is lieing. That was the abhi we were promised

The issues I had was - manhandling her in cabin, the conversation today, asking her in own house to not be in her house

Like I reject a guy and he comes to my house and says don't stay in your house only

And expecting me to speak up when he is already in an alliance with my sister

Then that bike scene se forcefully was too much

"thoda pyaar ka Dard tumhe bhi ho"

And to purposely try to make her jealous by using aarohi by making saali remarks knowing it's affecting her

His weird ranjhana dance was actually abnormal and the wicked expressions he gave Akshara when he was laughing ( HC put Aditya Hooda in abhimanyu- it seemed pretty odd to me especially the way he was dancing lying in the floor 😆- uske pehle episode mai I felt he is actually back into his senses when he was ignoring akshara although he should have done it politely but next episode he showed a psycho side of this)

I didn't like him ignoring in a rude way also. Ignorance can be done in a polite manner. He was behaving as if she doesn't exist.

The best thing to do in situations were you are rejected is to be polite and maintain formal terms

What I mean even after rejection , a person shouldn't stop being kind and nice to the other person.

I guess we are overanalzying and soon abhi akshu both will realize their flaws and abhi would also become the calmer, toned down version of him as he was earlier.

Your analysis is good and it's not wrong even if we cut a character slack. I don't know why you were getting so much bashing as I didn't see you being disrespectful in this entire thread - I read all the comments . We are all here to express our opinions and enjoy at the end it's only a fictional show with fictional characters.

P.S- I still love abhimanyu and am willing to overlook all those things that appear very toxic to me. As of now, he doesn't seem the ideal partner to me but I know things would change soon as cvs have purposely created this angst to make abhira start afresh.

That's the thing - there is such startling and rigid divergence among the folks on this board in how they react to his behavior. You and I have obviously had some personal experiences that color our reaction. What I can't decide is if the ones who are NOT disturbed by his behavior are blessed in their ignorance or if they are made vulnerable by it in their own lives. Not my business either way but I'm just curious. Because this type of overt toxic masculinity is killing my enjoyment of this show and my shameless ogling of HC.

All the hitting on random things is getting out of hand. The way he turned off the lights pulled Akshu aside and then went on to hit the wall..the way he threw the sweets box..the way he pulled and danced Akshu to show that he's "normal"..the way he washed the mehendi off and pushed the bowl..🤢

All this for what? Because Akshu is not accepting her love for him? That's it?

Has he even once tried to understand why Akshu is doing what she's doing? No! Pushing her to accept her feelings is taking a turn for the worse. And he has become intolerable since Roka with Aarohi.

So that was me and you're misrepresenting what I said. I didnot say that those are the only things that are toxic. I was asking what that person's definition of toxic was to understand what limits of behavior they find unacceptable and asked this as a rhetorical question. I acknowledged that other person's opinion was valid and tried to get my point across with humor. Why be so thin-skinned about it?

BTW I've read what's said on those threads which worship at the alter of Abhimanyu Birla (and that's fine, no skin off my nose).
