Hi Gan... Let me begin by saying that your collages and insights are fabulous... i am a regular "silent" reader of your thread and i love the fact that this is one place where i get to view a scene from different perspectives... i love the balance in the discussions here... something clearly lacking in the forum these days which clearly reached a new high (or should i say "low) today... hence couldn't stop myself from commenting... so bear with me...
coming to today's episode... it was a great episode... because it had the undercurrents of vintage YHM... to me YHM has always been about two very realistic and flawed characters... Raman and Ishita... they each have their beliefs, their moral compasses, their passions and obsessions... and this story has been about them accepting, changing or adapting to each others flaws...
Ishita's outburst and anger was as justified and real as Raman's pain and regret... in a span of a a few hours the main catalyst that pushed them and invariably guided them to accept and love each other was ripped apart from them and so they both hurt...
Ishita deserves a break... in the last one year she has been given the best gift possible in the form of her daughter and husband but at the same time she has been through a lot... and losing her daughter was the last straw... and so she lashed out... she lashed out at the person closest to her... who unknowingly and unintentionally is the cause for the loss of her daughter... her reaction to me was human... and her statement "Ruhi hai toh Hum hai"... i think makes perfect sense... in no way did she mean that their relationship wouldn't exist without Ruhi... what she probably meant was that the scars of losing their child would change them... as individuals, as life partners and as parents... it changed Raman once when he lost his son... and it could change them now if they lost their daughter... Ishita and Raman will not be Ishita and Raman if they lose their daughter... so the idea of them as a couple will also change...
at the same time Raman's plight brought me to tears... a man who was dreaming of a happy life with his wife and both his children is on the verge of losing everything... and the worst part is that the one person who was had become his strength in the last one year... supporting him directly or indirectly in all situations... is disintegrating right in front of him... he needs to draw strength from his wife but right now she is too broken and hurt to be his strength...
i am excited to see how these two individually face their demons to then come together and find the strength in each other... because for once they will have to do it for themselves and for each other so that they can fight for their daughter...
My heart goes out to Ruhi and Adi... children are supposed to be loved, cherished and nurtured... but these two have become victims of a situation where a father's desperation to protect his son and an opportunist mother's desperation to hold on to the last semblance of being important in the lives of others is costing them their childhood...
Sorry for the long rant but just could not stop myself today...
