AANI!!!!!
What a pleasure to read another new story from you!! Absolutely loved the beginning and the way you weave a sense of dread in those first few lines is amazing!
Her hand near his heart just besides Ruhi' head - he is still not peaceful enough to sleep. --- I love this!! I can't tell you why, I just do!!! Will you accept that? :P Some things just have no rhyme or reason :D
A scenario he fears he will relive in his nightmares for all the days to come from now. ---Ahhh!!!! That is terrifying! To think that an image that strong, that poignant and powerful can stay with him for the rest of his life... That is so scary!! I love the way you point out the seriousness of the day that has just passed for Raman...and I love that you are able to convey his fright without even telling us yet exactly what he has been through!
As he also remembers breaking down and holding her in his arms uncaring of who was looking at them or hearing him profess how scared he was, that he had lost her while sobbing uncontrollably. How she hushed him, comforted him as if she were tending to a frightened child; by gently running her hands over his back, said the words that calmed him at last. ---This is beautiful, Aani!!! It is absolutely brilliant! It is just the kind of placating Raman needs at the moment...and I see this scene playing out between Raman and Ishita. You are so amazing with your descriptions!!!
He is not in love with her. He knows that. As clearly as he now knows, he is petrified of falling in love with her as he is of losing her. ---
Anger and hatred forged his identity; not in parts but the whole of it. He does not know who and what he is without it now.
Unable to love, incapable of hate - he is lost about the nature of their relationship.
AHHH!!! Such clear insight into who Raman is and his crippling fear of falling in love with Ishita!!! These lines are perfect!! I imagine that this is exactly the kind of internal turmoil Raman will go through on the show, which is why I love these lines even more... I feel like your stories are an extension of the plot and characters on screen, which make them so relate-able and easy to understand.
Loved loved loveddd the father-son conversation and Mr. Bhalla's words of wisdom. I am so glad to see a conversation between Mr. Bhalla and Raman because that seems like such a rarity on the show.
I love that you did not force a relationship on Raman and Ishita in this story...I love that you know that this this relationship will take its course and will need it's own time.
You are a brilliant writer, Aani!!! Thank you for writing again!!! We are so sorry if we don't write in on your stories because we have gotten super busy lately, but we will try to drop by as much as we can. I hope you will keep writing so that we can keep reading :D
