Actor Abhishek Bajaj, who was last seen portraying the role of Ayaan Grover—a superstar in the television show Jubilee Talkies – Shohrat Shiddat Mohabbat—recently opened up about his focus on acting, his thoughts on reality shows, and his future aspirations.

Speaking about his current priorities, Abhishek shared that he is more inclined toward fiction roles at the moment. “I enjoy playing characters much more. My primary goal is to establish myself as a strong actor before stepping into the non-fiction space. There’s a unique thrill in portraying different roles and receiving appreciation from the audience for your performance. That validation for my talent is something I truly enjoy,” he said. However, he added with a smile, “I also believe in never saying never.”

He admitted that he had received offers for non-fiction shows several times in the past, but he chose to turn them down due to his busy schedule and focus on building his career as an actor. “I was deeply invested in my shoots and was exploring various characters. That’s why I couldn’t take up opportunities in the non-fiction space at the time,” he explained.

When asked about the hugely popular reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, Abhishek offered an honest opinion. “Bigg Boss places contestants in extreme circumstances—something you don’t often face in real life. In reality, we have the freedom to avoid certain situations or handle them more maturely. But in the house, every action defines your public image. And sometimes, that image may not represent who you truly are—it’s just what’s portrayed on screen.”

He admitted that while the concept of Bigg Boss doesn’t make him feel completely comfortable, he doesn’t rule out the possibility of participating in it someday. “I don’t like running from challenges, so I can’t say whether I’ll do it or not in the future,” he added.

Looking ahead, Abhishek is eager to diversify his portfolio. “There’s still so much I want to explore. I’d love to do an action-comedy. I think my sense of humor is quite good, and the audience hasn’t seen that side of me yet. I’m also open to romantic comedies, historical or period dramas, fantasy projects—or even playing a superhero!”

Apart from his television work, Abhishek has also made a mark in Bollywood with films like Student of the Year 2, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, and Babli Bouncer.
