Beautiful...breathtakingly beautiful shot Nyna.
I was so moved while reading it.
This piece really lift up my low mood a bit.

Hi Nyna,

For me, this is snippet of your works - Guardian Angels and Amaranthine. I find the words and plot style very similar. The color blue, cerulean makes a return, and so does the "infinity" and "forever".

Once I started reading it, it didn't allow me to put down my phone. I was hooked to the story right from its first line.

The accident had me worried, wondering if there was a villain lurking thirsty for revenge. It is very much true that near-death experiences have the power to re-align your priorities and clarify the reality. You will see the world through new eyes and would appreciate something you previously found trivial. In Swara's case, it was something she took for granted.

That's one phrase that I didn't want to associate with Swara after reading this one shot, and thanks to you, it was never that. Swara's possessiveness and reliability on Sanskaar are portrayed in a way that it doesn't feel like she takes him for granted.

The confession and the aftermath were shocking. However, going into a sixteen-year old's mind, it probably scared her. For such lifetime friendships, the line between like and love blur with age. What is only a close friendship could be misinterpreted as love. Also the vice-versa is true, when true love like Sanskaar's is seen as mere close, childhood friendship. A kiss and confession would definitely cross that line of friendship.

Now Sahil is basically a ghost in this story, and I don't think I want to read about him in detail. However, he indirectly plays cupid. If he had proposed, Swara would never have that disagreement with her Baba, hence that accident would have been avoided and so would Swara (and we) miss the opportunity of realisation.

The charm bracelet is a touch of something physical since the plot surrounds the abstract concept of love and feelings. Each charm denoting an event that's special for them, that's downright romantic. No other words do justice to that gesture, in my book atleast. The last letter was sad yet, I felt it held that hope and reminded me of a number of dialogues reinforcing that whenever Swara falls, Sanskaar would be there to help her up. When I read the whole poem, I quickly copied it to my library where I have some of the other quotes you have mentioned. It will definitely be part of my photo-edits one day.

The patch up was a beautiful end to this one shot. It was purely clean romance and once again reminds me of Amaranthine climax.

All in all, great read with concrete plot and awesome characterization.

Dear Harshada,

I am glad you liked the OS and that it lifted your spirits, as mentioned, I did write the story when I was mourning the loss of another story of mine (my mind refused to work on it) so I did enjoy writing it too.

And I am finally back to reply to your lovely comment.

When you mentioned that it was similar to Amaranthine and the Guardian Angel, I was struck silent for a few minutes and then realised, yes, the feel and the tenor are similar. Cerulean / blue and all its shades is a common feature to all my stories (I do not think my first one had it, if you ignore that the font was in blue colour🤣) though FM has mention of blue shades in it.

Swara was not actually taking Sanskaar for granted, she just did not want to examine her dependence on him and what it could translate into. She wanted to rebel, convinced that both the families deciding that she and Sanskaar were meant for each other was not right, and she wanted to chart her own independent course. Of course, she did realise that all her roads did reach to Sanskaar.

The infinity bracelet and the charms were the manifestation of the die hard romantic in me, but considering the man that Sanskaar is, it is absolutely possible. That poem by Pablo Neruda has a permanent spot on my Pin Board. The full poem however, is not of hope though the first few lines do give that hope, Sanskaar believes that he would be losing Swara but a part of him hopes that she might reach out to him and promises that he would always be there for her.

The patch up - after all, Swara had to settle all the dues, right? Though Sanskaar would not mind repaying his debt and a little more.
