Hrithik Roshan has shared a detailed and candid response to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which has crossed the one hundred crore mark within days of release. The espionage drama, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been a talking point for its narrative choices and strong performances. Hrithik’s review added a fresh dimension to the conversation, as he praised the filmmaking while acknowledging his ideological differences with the story.
On Instagram, Hrithik wrote a reflective note about why the film worked for him. He explained that he admires storytellers who fully commit to the emotional pull of their narrative. “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. DHURANDAR is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema,” he shared.
He then offered a rare admission about the film’s political tone. Hrithik said he did not agree with its politics, but that did not take away from how much he valued its craft. “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how I loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing,” he wrote.

His comments arrived soon after filmmaker Siddharth Anand also praised Dhurandhar. Siddharth described the film as “nasha” and said its impact stays long after the credits roll. He wrote that every department delivered at its peak and that he plans to watch the film again. He credited Aditya Dhar’s conviction for the film’s force and highlighted the cast’s performances.
Dhurandhar follows Hamza Ali Mazari, who enters Pakistan’s underworld while pretending to join Rehman Dakait’s gang. His marriage to a politician’s daughter later turns out to be part of a covert mission. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and others. Its sequel is expected to release on March 19, 2026.
