Chapter:- 3
Next morning, we can see that Lakshya is still sleeping. Suddenly, the alarm rings. Lakshya immediately jumps from his bed.
Lakshya- Shit! It's already 9. Dad will kill me if I get late today.
Lakshya runs to the bathroom. He comes out after 15 minutes and gets ready as fast as he could. After that, he goes to his dad's room.
Lakshya- Dad, I'm ready. Shall we move?
PRM- Wow Lucky, you woke up so early today. Ragini is a great influence to you. I can see that.
Lakshya (in mind)- Oh God! That girl, again? Even her name is enough to irritate me.
Lakshya- Well, never mind.
PRM- You don't like her, do you?
Lakshya- No, dad. It's nothing like that. She is okay.
PRM- Come on, Lucky. You think you can lie to me? I'm your dad, don't forget that.
Lakshya- Dad, it's not that I don't like her. It's just that I don't like girls like her.
PRM- Girls like her, as in?
Lakshya- As in, her clothes, her confidence, her attitude! I don't like it, dad. She is way too boring. You won't believe it, but she cried when I shouted at her for being late to office.
PRM- So what type of girls do you like? Those like Tina? Who get ready to undress for anyone and everyone they see? You know how Tina is, right? I really don't think I need to tell you about her character. You must have understood that by yourself till now.
Lakshya- You took my words wrong, dad. I didn't mean that. I meant, I like girls who are interesting. Ragini is one hell of a boring girl. She cries for every little thing.
PRM- Interesting? Means someone who wears western clothes, drinks with you, sleeps with you, right? You don't like Ragini because she isn't of your level, right? You don't like her because she won't let you sleep with her, right? And let me tell you, Lucky. When one cries, it's only because he/she is hurt. And one can be hurt only by someone he/she cares about. You mean something to her and that is why your words hurt her. She respects you as a boss. Had it been Tina in place of Ragini, you would've been the happiest person alive. Isn't it?
Lakshya- Please, dad. It's nothing like that.
PRM- I know you, Lucky. I know very well, how you are! You needn't lie to me. I know you prefer mordern girls so I chose Ragini for this job. I want her to change you and your opinions completely. Women are not things, Lucky. Learn to respect them.
Lakshya feels embarassed. He gets angry on Ragini because he thinks she is the reason his father insulted him today. He decides to confront her.
PRM- Now come, let's go.
Lakshya- Okay.
Lakshya and PRM head towards the office. After reaching, Lakshya immediately goes to his cabin. He opens the door and sees Ragini arranging his table. Ragini looks at him and smiles.
Ragini- Good morning, sir.
Lakshya slams the door and walks towards her. He grabs both her arms and pulls her close. This causes pain to Ragini. She flinches in pain.
Ragini- Sir, what are you doing? Leave me, please. My arms are hurting.
Lakshya is too angry to even care. He presses her arms even tighter.
Lakshya- What do you think of yourself, huh? You'll impress my dad by telling him that I've changed? And you're the reason behind my changing attitude?
Ragini gets shocked. She is still in pain.
Ragini- Sir, what are you talking about? I didn't get you.
Lakshya- Oh please, don't give me that shit now. I know very well what you're trying to do. You wanna be in the good books of dad, right? So dad would be impressed by you and he would ask you to marry me. That is what you want, right? I know, I know! Girls like you keep waiting your whole lives for someone rich. Girls like you look very innocent from the outside, but are very cunning from the inside. You know very well how to impress rich guys. If not the guy, then his dad. After all, dads always go for the "good girls" while searching for a daughter in law. You're creating a "good girl" image in front of him to impress him, aren't you?
Ragini is very hurt by Lakshya's words. She never thought he would say any such thing to her. She just tried to save him from his father and this is what she gets in return. Ragini's eyes start watering.
Ragini- Sir, you're misunderstanding me. It's nothing like that. Please leave me. You're hurting me, sir.
Lakshya- Oh, really? Then how's it like? Please tell me. Why did you lie to dad?
Ragini- Because I wanted to protect you, sir. I knew he would be angry at you if I had told him the truth. Now please leave me, sir. You're hurting me.
Lakshya realises that he is actually hurting her. He lets go of her arms.
Lakshya feels guilty for hurting her.
Lakshya- I'm sorry.
Lakshya then sits on his chair. Ragini wipes her tears and picks up her diary which was kept on the table. Lakshya sees this.
Lakshya- What's this? Are you trying to steal this thing?
Ragini feels insulted but doesn't show.
Ragini- No, sir. This is my diary.
Lakshya- Alright, now help me out with these files. I don't know anything about them.
Ragini starts explaining him about the files one by one. Lakshya keeps listening for a while and after that, he gets bored.
Lakshya- Ragini, do me a favour, please.
Ragini- Yes, sir. Please say.
Lakshya- Please stop this bullshit and get out. This shit and your face is really getting on my nerves now.
Ragini gets upset but she agrees.
Ragini- Okay, sir. As you say.
Lakshya- Wait!
Ragini- Yes, sir.
Lakshya- Send Tina in.
Ragini- Alright, sir.
Ragini gets out of Lakshya's cabin and walks towards the reception, where Tina was.
Ragini- Tina, Lakshya sir wants to see you.
Tina thinks of insulting Ragini.
Tina- Hahaha poor Ragini! You're so unlucky. I mean just look at the scene. Lakshya Maheshwari throws you out of his cabin and calls me in. Isn't that great? Anyways, better luck next time, babe.
With this, Tina goes to Lakshya's cabin. Ragini fakes a smile and goes to the canteen, alone. She has no friends in this office. Firstly, because she is new and secondly, because people think she is boring. She opens the diary and starts writing. On the other side, Tina and Lakshya continue "having fun" (if you guys know what I mean) for about an hour. After their "encounter", both of them get dressed again. Tina then sits on his lap.
Tina- Wow Lucky, you were simply awesome! It felt so good.
Lakshya (in pride)- Well, I know that. 17 girls have told me that till now. Thanks, anyway.
Tina- 17 girls?? OMG! You're kidding me, aren't you?
Lakshya- Of course not. Why would I? I wish you were my secretary.
Tina- Awww my baby, it's okay. I'm there, anyway. You can just call me up anytime you want. Well, I know why you wish that. After all, having a secretary like Ragini is no less than a punishment.
Lakshya- Please Tina, don't even mention her name. Such an irritating thing she is!
Suddenly, Tina's phone vibrates. It was a message from her boyfriend. Lakshya saw the name saved as "baby". But he wasn't one to care. He didn't love Tina. Why would he even care?
Tina- Lucky, I'll have to go now. My mom is ill. She just texted me.
Lakshya understood why she wanted to leave but as I already told you, HE WASN'T ONE TO CARE!
Lakshya- Oh, take good care of her. Make sure she feels good.
Tina hugs him and is about to leave when Lakshya calls her from behind.
Lakshya- Wait, Tina!
Tina- Yeah?
Lakshya- Please send Ragini in. Too many files are yet to be read. And I cannot do this without her.
Tina- But Lucky, I don't know where she is.
Lakshya- Go, find her then. But send her in, right away.
Tina feels insulted but keeps quiet.
Tina- Cool.
Tina roams around the whole office searching Ragini. She finally finds her in the canteen writing something in her diary. She walks to her.
Tina- Ragini, you're being called.
Ragini immediately closes her diary.
Ragini- By?
Tina- Your boss, Lakshya! He wants to see you right away. Stop eating my damn head and get lost now. I did as I was told. Now vanish from my sight.
Tina goes to meet her boyfriend and Ragini walks to Lakshya's cabin. She knocks the door.
Ragini- Sir, may I come in?
Lakshya- Yeah, come in.
Ragini- Sir, you called me?
Lakshya- Yeah, I need your help.
Ragini- What help, sir?
Lakshya- Read these files. I'll sleep now as I'm really tired. After I wake up, just tell me where to sign. Got it?
Ragini- Yes, sir.
Lakshya- Good. Now lock the door and wake me up if you see someone coming this way, okay?
Ragini- Okay, sir.
Lakshya sleeps on his chair and Ragini gets busy reading the files. After 3 hours, Lakshya wakes up. He sees Ragini arranging the files in the cupboard.
Lakshya- What are you doing?
Ragini- Oh, you woke up? I was just arranging your cupboard.
Lakshya- Arrange it well. Anyways, are you done with the files?
Ragini- Yes, sir.
Lakshya- Come here. Bring the files.
Ragini takes the files in her hands and goes near him. She starts explaining the details about the projects to him.
Lakshya- Cut the crap! Just tell me where to sign.
Ragini shows him the places where his signatures are required. He signs the papers.
Ragini- Sir, may I ask you something?
Lakshya- Yeah.
Ragini- I may be a fraud. I may even be a thief. I may get your signs on the wrong papers and make all your property mine. Why do you sign the papers without reading them then?
Lakshya- Because I know you won't do any such thing.
Ragini- And Tina? You believe her?
Lakshya- Look Miss secretary, be in your limits. You're my secretary, not girlfriend or wife to ask me such questions. Stay out of my personal life. You're no one to poke your nose in my personal matters. Is that clear?
Ragini- Yes, sir. I'm really sorry.
Lakshya- You better be! Now go do your work.
Ragini feels hurt. She goes back to arrange the cupboard and Lakshya gets busy with his phone. He takes out his headphones, closes his eyes and starts listening songs. After a while, someone knocks the door but Lakshya is busy in his own world with headphones on, so he doesn't realise. Having no option left, Ragini slightly shakes his shoulder. Lakshya opens his eyes in a second. He gets angry.
Lakshya- Hey! How dare you touch me?
Ragini- I'm sorry, sir. But someone is there on the door.
Lakshya- So? What am I supposed to do?
Ragini- Sir, without your permission, no one is allowed to enter this cabin. Plus, the door is locked and if your father sees you like this, you'll be in danger.
Lakshya- Oh yes. I'm sorry, I forgot. Go open the door.
Lakshya removes his headphones and sits on the chair properly. Ragini opens the door. PRM is waiting outside the door.
Ragini- Sir, please come in.
PRM enters inside the cabin.
PRM- How're you, Ragini? Do you like this cabin?
Ragini- I'm good, sir. Thank you. And yeah, this cabin is beautiful, sir. I love it.
PRM- And what about your boss? How do you like him?
Ragini gets nervous.
Ragini- Ummm he is great, sir. We make a good company together.
PRM (to Lakshya)- Lucky, she said she makes a good company with you. How do you feel about it?
Lakshya gets nervous too.
Lakshya- Yeah dad, she is right. We make a great team together.
PRM- Have you completed the file work that you were asked to do?
Lakshya- Yes, dad.
PRM- Show me the files.
Lakshya (To Ragini)- Ragini, show him the files.
Ragini- Yes, sir.
Ragini goes to the cupboard and takes out the files. She shows them to PRM. PRM is really impressed by both Lakshya and Ragini.
PRM- Hmm, I see. You guys actually make a good company.
PRM (to Ragini)- Ragini, you really are an angel. You are the reason my son has completed his work so efficiently today. Thank you.
Ragini- Please don't thank me, sir. Thank him (pointing at Lakshya). He has worked really hard today.
PRM walks towards Lakshya and hugs him. Lakshya hugs him back.
Lakshya (in mind)- This girl will do anything to get in the good books of dad. Shit! If this goes on, I'm sure one day dad will ask me to marry her and I can't do that. I have to stop her from being so good in front of dad.
