Well, seems like Sanskaar maintained so beautiful and colorful garden. I so love these casual yet meaningful moments of Swasan.
and yeah, finally came the part in which I wanted to see this Smart businessman Sanskaar. but Sigh!! some people don't learn from mistakes , so is the case of Raagini.
and Sanskaar's description for his father was very touching! I can see how defeated he was feeling! I think Swara is right! he shouldn't come to conclusion without knowing the full scenario!!
loved how Swara consoled him. well, from inside he is so soft.
they both are perfect for each other. and yeah, loved the passionate reunion in end. :)
err! I didn't find him like Karna. may be some qualities are similar. So, my mind didn't go in this way. so, whom you consider other two.!?
sometimes I think he has every good quality , so he matches with every single good hearted person. Like Krishna, a good friend, knows how to turn situation on his side.
and like Bhisma- always on his words, or like Arjuna ,a great warrior.
and whoever was the true lover err! give me the name Viji, so like him.
by the way, what was in Karna parva!! 😛
Nice update dear and eagerly waiting for the next update! Hope, you enjoyed you vacations!! 😊

Hey Toshi my dear pal...🤗 🤗

Adrak and Elaichi chai is like manna from heaven for me. 😆 My absolute favorite! So I wanted to imagine Sanskaar and Swara enjoying a hot steaming cup of tea on a cold winter morning, soaking in the warmth of their companionship and love. 😳 Nice, na? 😉

I think there is something very symbolic about the fact that Sanskaar's favorite hobby is gardening. It shows his tender and nurturing side, devoting himself to unconditionally care for others. And in a way, this also involves a lot of focus, a lot of sincerity and dedication. Attributes of Arjuna from the Mahabharata.

I feel Sanskaar is a combination of traits of Shri Krishna, Arjuna and Karna.

Like Shri Krishna, for his capacity to look at the bigger picture, to have an overall perspective of things. To be able to take very difficult, even unpalatable decisions for the greater good; even at the cost of his own interests.

Like Arjuna, for his qualities of focus and dedication as I mentioned above. And also for being the most skilled, the best at what he does.

Like Karna, for his courage, valor and loyalty. And also because, despite all his sterling qualities, he is always somewhat taken for granted.

You are right about Sanskaar being sensitive inside his tough exterior. He has an iron resolve, a steely determination, but inside that, he has a very tender heart. That is why, when he had felt so devastated when Swara doubted him earlier; and now, when he hears something which makes him feel his father might have cheated on his mother; his sense of identity and self, his belief in the characteristics he had inherited, is severely shaken.

But Swara reassures him in the best possible way, to hear out Ram Prasad first; and also that one's choices are what is important. Heredity and genetics only take a person so far, more important is one's conscience and the goodness in one's heart.

Very glad you liked their passionate and tender time at the farmhouse. 😳 ☺️ We will never get it in the show, so might as well write and dream about it, na?

Karna Parva in the Mahabharata refers to Day 16 and Day 17 of the War at Kurukshetra, when Karna was the Supreme Commander of the Kaurava army. 😊 Of course, it is not an exact parallel here, I am not planning to get Sanskaar defeated. 😉 But he is the General, the supreme accomplished warrior, of the Maheshwaris! 😉

Will update as soon as I can, dear. Within end of this week.

Hey Saku dear...🤗 🤗 I'm thoroughly enjoying this Mahabharata analogy discussion with you! 😊

I completely agree with you on seeing Sanskaar as a combination of some traits between Shri Krishna, Karna and Arjuna.

That was very well put, interpreting Sanskaar as alternately Karna or Arjuna to Durga Prasad's Bhishma or Drona (depending on the context and situation). I saw a similar parallel to the roles these two play, and the grand setting of those august characters in the Great epic.

Your interpretation of Durga Prasad as Lord Parashuram, banishing and cursing Sanskaar (parallel to Karna here), for daring to do something the family frowns upon (loving Kavita), was an awesome inference. I hadn't looked at it from that angle, to be frank.

Your analogy of Swara as a female version of Yudhishthira was interesting. I still see her as mostly a blend between Chitrangada and Subhadra, but like you said, the willingness to stake all one has, for the quest of the ultimate truth, the ultimate good, might be a parallel. But you know what they say, that game of dice was also due in part to Yudhishtira's fondness for gambling--almost an addiction at the time, which Shakuni was well aware of, and exploited. Swara doesn't seem to have a similar weakness to me, apart from the compulsive desire to set things right! 😊 Even when she is not really the person who ought to decide---her attempts to patch RagYa together, for example.

Eagerly waiting for the rest of Frost Knight to roll out---your Chapter 3 drawing some analogy to Gandhari (as you have titled it), is very tantalizing, as I am coincidentally also drawing some parallels to Gandhari for part of my forthcoming "Karna Parva--Day 17" OS.

Lots of Love

I enjoy discussing Mahabharata anytime, with someone who understands the depth as well as you do Viji dear,😃
Now coming to Swara and my theory what I see as her addiction here is that thirst for doing everything right, making everyone happy at the cost of her own happiness...we've seen the worst outcomes of that habit and I fear in future concerning Sanskar and Kavita, we'll have to see more of this side from her. Other than that weakness for greater good I agree she has no other weakness to her character. That's why I said she is somewhat a Yudishtira not completely. And I fear kavita would in future exploit this weakness as Shakuni, we'll see in time.
As for Durga Prasad being lord Parshurama, I'm glad I could interest you with a theory like that.😳
Well you have already seen what parallels I drew to Gandari in FK, still waiting to hear your thoughts on that.😊
loads of love,
Saku

Ruqu my dear...🤗 🤗

My New Year got onto a nice enough start, thanks! What about you? Hope 2016 brings you a whole lot of joy, love, peace and prosperity!!

So you also loved the gardening Sanskaar to open this OS. 😉 Oh I just loved your description of Sanskaar in your comment, Ruqu. Beneath the rock hard exterior, the gentle soul with a bed of comforting layers like Mother Earth herself. WOW!! So accurate, so profound. Acha, so that's the reason for his woodsy scent is it? The earth connection? 😆 So long as Swara pines for his clean, woodsy tang, whether it is Hugo Boss or essence of Sanskaar, we needn't worry, na? 😃 BTW Ruqu, in my "Elements" series of OS's on SwaSan, I had described Sanskaar as an Earth element sign. 😊

Seriously, when they showed Sanskaar gardening in the serial, I felt it was such a good match to the intrinsic nature of the man. As you rightly said, it showed his caring side, his nurturing side. It showed his ability to shower unconditional tenderness and care. And in a way, there is a Mahabharata analogy here--to Arjuna. Sanskaar's focus and dedication is evident in his hobby, as it it in any of his activities and the relationships he holds dear.

I completely agree with you that Sanskaar has several traits of Shri Krishna. That perspective, the ability to take difficult and even unpalatable decisions for the greater good of his family is a case in point. As you rightly said, expecting nothing for himself, willing to take the needed actions even at the cost of his own self interest.

I loved your take reminiscing about Aragorn. I am a major Lord of The Rings/ Hobbit fan, so this really struck me in your comment. You're right, Aragorn was so haunted by the possible trait he might have inherited as Isildur's heir. As Arwen tells him so memorably, he is Isildur's heir, not Isildur himself. I really do believe, that it is one's choices, one's conscience and one's heart that decides one's path and destiny. Genetics and heredity only takes one so far and no more, anyway.

Besides, as you suspect, there is something more to Ram Prasad and Kaveri's conversation. 😉 Will reveal that in the next chapter.

I will never include Kavita in any of my SwaSan works, Ruqu. Apart from as a pleasant memory of a past love in Sanskaar's mind (which I had portrayed in my TS "Second Chances" and in my OS "Earth".) I will never want to portray the resurrected Kavita in any of my fics. I just cannot identify with that absolutely illogical and inane plot.

And my dear, my dear. 🤗 You made me feel on top of the world with your lovely compliment in the end. For a SwaSan fan like myself, there is no higher praise, than to be told I made them look so good together, and portrayed their passion and intimacy in a way you loved so much. You truly made me feel so very touched and humbled with that. I can only say, it was a privilege and a pleasure to get that comment from you, Ruqu. Thanks!

Lots of Love,

----Viji

Yes yes Viji I remember .Haha There you go ! so our Sanskar truly is earthly in every way. I guess the perfume simply enhances his essence. I agree Sanskar is also very much like Arjun especially his steadfastness and single mindedness in achieving his goals. I am a massive LOTR/Hobbit Fan too. I have lost count of the number of times I have watched those movies. Each and every dialogue is etched in my brain. Ever since I was introduced to Middle Earth I have never really been able to leave it. I keep revisiting it time and again. I know Crazy me.

I feel Aragon's dilemma is still relevant in today's times. He belonged to a superior race of men yet he was not immune to the vices that plague ordinary men. And in his case it was no secret how these weaknesses ran in his bloodline. Of all the members in the fellowship I could relate to him the most. Probably because he was less supernatural compared to the others.

^^^ I am in absolutely the same boat as you, Ruqu. 😊 I've seen each of those movies dozens of times. Some time ago, had done a DVD marathon of the 3 hobbit movies over a long weekend, and then the 3 LOTR movies over another long weekend. 😆

I like Aragorn's character too---like you mentioned, his insecurities, his fear of the possibility of the inherited weaknesses which ran in his bloodline, made him so relatable, so grounded, so identifiable, in a sense.

I like Legolas's character too---for the flamboyant elegance mostly. 😆 But apart from the fellowship, another character I really liked was Faramir. Again, a fundamentally good and honorable man, battling his insecurities of always being considered second best, to his elder brother Boromir. His own father Denethor shows this open partiality towards Boromir all the time. But in the end, it is Faramir who turns out to be the better human being, than either his father or his elder brother!
