Yes yes Viji I remember .Haha There you go ! so our Sanskar truly is earthly in every way. I guess the perfume simply enhances his essence. I agree Sanskar is also very much like Arjun especially his steadfastness and single mindedness in achieving his goals. I am a massive LOTR/Hobbit Fan too. I have lost count of the number of times I have watched those movies. Each and every dialogue is etched in my brain. Ever since I was introduced to Middle Earth I have never really been able to leave it. I keep revisiting it time and again. I know Crazy me.

I feel Aragon's dilemma is still relevant in today's times. He belonged to a superior race of men yet he was not immune to the vices that plague ordinary men. And in his case it was no secret how these weaknesses ran in his bloodline. Of all the members in the fellowship I could relate to him the most. Probably because he was less supernatural compared to the others.

^^^ I am in absolutely the same boat as you, Ruqu. 😊 I've seen each of those movies dozens of times. Some time ago, had done a DVD marathon of the 3 hobbit movies over a long weekend, and then the 3 LOTR movies over another long weekend. 😆

I like Aragorn's character too---like you mentioned, his insecurities, his fear of the possibility of the inherited weaknesses which ran in his bloodline, made him so relatable, so grounded, so identifiable, in a sense.

I like Legolas's character too---for the flamboyant elegance mostly. 😆 But apart from the fellowship, another character I really liked was Faramir. Again, a fundamentally good and honorable man, battling his insecurities of always being considered second best, to his elder brother Boromir. His own father Denethor shows this open partiality towards Boromir all the time. But in the end, it is Faramir who turns out to be the better human being, than either his father or his elder brother!

Viji Not you too😆. I used to have major debates with my friends over Aragon and Legolas. And I agree Legolas has this other worldly appeal oh yes great hair and piercing blue eyes. He could have done really well in a Pantene commercial. And the fact that he is immortal makes him well timeless. But my heart was always set on Aragon just like Eowyn . Alas he had pledged his life to Arwen. There was no way I could resist those deep set eyes that reflected an unspoken sadness

Oh yes Faramir was another example of a good man who strived to rise in the eyes of his unworthy father. He also underwent the test of his willpower and ultimately succeeded. Another thing that stood out was that he never resented his brother for being the favored son and shared a great bond with him.

^^^ Bold above---so true, Ruqu. And you know, there are echoes of Sanskaar here in Faramir, too. Sanskaar also has always been given less love, less affection from the family than Lakshya received. But he has never resented Lakshya for this. In fact, he himself was so considerate, protective and elder brotherly towards Lakshya.

Absolutely true. But in Faramir's case his father was completely unapologetic and outright on who he preferred and deemed to be a better son. With the Maheshwaris they know which son is capable and has far more strength in his character. I guess Sanskar can emotionally sustain himself. This is one strength that Lakshya doesn't have. Therefore all the love is showered upon him.

You're right about that difference between Denethor's attitude towards his sons; and the Maheshwaris' attitude towards Sanskaar & Lakshya, Ruqu.

The family does feel Sanskaar is far more capable than Lakshya, has much more mettle and strength to his character. So they always expect more of him, demand more of him, since he can endure more, do better. And Lakshya gets the emotional hand holding and the cossetting! 😆

But I think the family has forgotten that though Sanskaar is emotionally self reliant and self sustaining for the most part, even the strongest do need a shoulder to lean upon sometimes, a companion to hold their hand, to be by their side no matter what.

Swara, thankfully, realized this and was prepared to be that person for Sanskaar---before this Kavita track came along to ruin the mood in the serial. 🤢

That is very true. Even the strongest can break when the burden becomes too big to shoulder and every now and then they do need to be replenished with love that is external as much as internal.
After watching yesterday's episode I feel may be Lakshya is finally growing up. Hope the Cvs keep him consistent with this growth, though its still too early for him to develop feelings for Ragini after all she has done.

Kavita.. I don't know what to say. I can't really identify this Kavita as the girl Sanskar used to love. I am hoping that she might be a Humshakal trying to cash in the riches of Maheshwari. Though technically they have nothing since Ragini took over. If this girl is indeed just a look alike then at least Kavita's memory will remain preserved just the way we want it to.

I have no hopes from this Kavita track yaar. They should never have gone down this road. There were dozens of other tracks they could have used, even if they wanted to do melodrama. Why unnecessarily tamper with a character who should have been left just as a sweet memory? Some things should not be milked for melodrama and trp's!

These days I am recording the episode and only watching SwaSan scenes, such as they are. I fast forward all scenes where Kavita is focused upon. 😆 I also plan to re watch the old episodes on Rishtey, from Sanskaar's entry onwards.

Will start re watching full episodes once Kavita says sayonara and pushes off. 😉

Yaar Ruqu, don't say that yaar. I was pinning my hopes on a cameo, with Kavita being asked to leave on a February 14 (Sunday) maha episode, and SwaSan's tender, mutual love confession as a Valentine Day Special! We can always dream, na?

Hey Prachi. 🤗 🤗

Thanks a lot dear, glad to know you loved this chapter.

No, Sanskaar is not adopted. 😊 But there certainly is a secret behind the Ram Prasad---Kaveri conversation, which will be revealed in the next chapter.

Wish you and your family a Very Happy New Year!

Cheers,

Viji
