Kumud is covering her chest, all she is showing is her back 😕 Her family don't have a problem but we do?😕

see I dont want to argue with anyone..!
I have no problem with her clothes...I know SLB likes to portray his heroines in such way!
I'm just stating my opinion on why some people feel awkward to watch her like that!

Which world do u live in? she is decently dressed and the female lead is usually dressed diffrerently frm the others... do u see saras wearing dhoti while in thevillage? so why cant she wear what she wants?

Dont sermonise... girls today wear all kinds of clothes... full on, itsty bitsy... leave it to their choice... and as long as they can carry it... just enjoy the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is a woman of substance with the balls to wear what she wants...

I was always told that clothes say everything about you!
People judge you on how you dress. Only business attire is allowed at my workplace!
Hence my confusion as how Kumud dresses and what her character is.
Regressive as it may seem, I identify a powerful force like Kumud with powerful clothes. I was imposing my sense of what I thought her character should be wearing! Refined, dignified and understated clothes.
But viewers have rightly pointed out that as the lead of the show, she has to look different to other characters, (point taken)
and someone else mentioned that women in villages dress like her.
So her sense of style is not different to what women are wearing in villages in her part of the world.
I learn something new about India every day!

I really admire the character of Kumud, but am having trouble getting past her sense of style. (or lack of!!)
I am being purely objective here, is her dress considered acceptable in the home and school?
Isn't she dressed more for the beach? (minus the skirt).
Please don't get me wrong, I not aware of traditional gujarati customs. And her dress may be a reflection of that society. But other female characters are not dressed in bikini tops, so I am bit confused about the mixed massages being relayed here.
Or is her dress just for the titillation?
what is the target audience for the soaps anyway? 18-25 year old men? Are they watching while doing arm curls at the gym?

Which part of the world are you from? Looking at your post it is very clear that you have never visited any village in India (Just my speculation😛)

Kumud to me is more a woman of substance than a bikini babe. She has her own ideology, she stands for truth and is very strong character. I wish and pray that we see more women in society like her and we would have less social issues that are privelant in the society these days.

The cholis that she is wearing although are backless are not out of place. Its more due to her odhani it looks out of place. If only she can wear Chiffon or Georgett odhani instead of the net odhani her dressing would be great for Gujarati village girl.

As far as others in her family is concerned- Kumud always was shown as the women who was way ahead of her time in her family and so her dressing too would reflect that.
Although i would like her hair to be made up properly. Her bangs is covering her face and now after the mooh deekhayi she better tuck it in 😉
I am sure that the men 18-25 for sure would not be interested in the eternal love story😛.

I agree with you my friend.
This is very same issue I have raised in my first post. I myself am a Gujju and know that sure women in rural area do wear backless and such blouses. But makers are simply over doing it here.

The transparent dupatta, only 2 doris, intentional camera angle on khidaki, hairs more often than not in front to show her back. What is need for all that?

Some may say well she is the lead so she needs to look different and sensual. She is wearing most designer clothes so she stands out anyways. Also since when is "angpradashan" sing of sensual? If that is the only way, well what exactly are they trying to show?

We see her aunt give lecture to her daughter on proper attire but she gets away. After all it is not fair world and not everyone is being treated equally.

But then argument goes it's a show so why not. Then I am confused as SLB tries to portray reality. Reality that is stretched I would say.

Kumud's dress, well we all know why is like that...

And one thing to clear - I won't call her bikini babe though...

You are totally right... never been to India and don't intend to -- my clothes will be completely out of place!

Bikini babe? :O why? What has woman of substance got to do with clothing? Her actions speak louder than anything else and that makes her woman of substance.. She is the first graduate from the village..its a big thing in a small remote village where girls STILL are not sent to schools.. She learnt computer and fought with the authorities to get one installed in the village school.. She questions the age old regressive traditions and stands up for the right no matter who she has to face and what she has to face.. THAT makes her woman of substance ..How can we judge a person with the way they are dressed? And whats wrong with her dress anyway! She flaunts what she has whether its her knowledge, her morals or her great figure.. call her bold if you want to but she is not vulgar.. why does she have to dress like other girls? I have a different style from my own sister.. Do we have to walk around looking like clones of each other? No! She has it she flaunts it ..big deal ! Whats the big fuss.. I dont get it! Forget the character..lets judge her and question her right to be called woman of substance because she wears backless cholis? seriously? Kamasutra comes from Inida.. go and watch the paintings in the world famous Ajanta and Ellora caves.,.Woman are all dressed sensually in the paintings and they are all ''traditional'' Showing off the navel through see through dupatta is not new and alien concept.. Sarees and ghagra cholis are very sexy attires..that allow woman to show off their midriff...so? Cholis and blouses are always short..the long ones are not cholis they are short kurtis.. Phew! guys There is a lot more to the character than her dress which anyway looks amazing on her.. my POV!

.Kumud is a woman of substance ...& about her style of dress the same thing came into my mind when the show started.. she is given short & backless cholis for being the lead.while other girls are given long .Skin show invites more viewers for sure but can be make elderly uncomfortable
Though jennifer is skinny & carries herself well , she will look good too if cholis are made longer & the back is made little deeper rather complete bare but the cvs. & costume designer want to give her a sexy look

That is what i was thinking am not indian but i know that i would never wear that in or outside the house i consider it too revealing. I dont think its what people wear where she lives because so far she is the only one i have seen wearing what she wears when i saw the promos i would think to myself that she likes wearing sexy saree's and running around so far i have not seen her in a promo when she is not running. I think what she wears is too revealing after all the majority who watch the show are female many indian shows are design for females . I mean no offense to anyone
