It is pretty standard, they might have sexed it up a bit. I think it is beautiful.

I agree with you TM... she gets self conscious if she isn't wearing her transparent dupatta too. If she was really worried about revealing her body, why wear such clothes? I've even asked one of my Gujurati friends, and she told me that nobody wears clothes so revealing in the village. It's completely unrealistic... she's the only one dressed like that too. =/ It's one of my biggest pet peeves with the show.

Oh God! I'm a Gujarati and I have worn short dresses. Like seriously! Are you all girls? You dont have an issue with a guy showing off his bare chest but acting all backwards because the lead heroine is showing off her back? It looks sensual and Kumud is meant to be sensual and intimidating too. The other females don't wear such outfits because they are NOT the main leads! The main protagonists are meant to have a distinct look.

Even Nandini wore quite bold outfits in HDDCS and you could clearly see her cleavage. Leave out the gujju crap because we don't all dress alike!

i agree with ur post..i do not get how one can wear such a blouse in the house, i mean its so revealing! they have shown this as a traditional house with values and all the rest of the females r all covered up, i think the cvs shud think of changing her dress code as it does not go with the plot..i am glad u made this topic because i wanted to do the same but was worried about getting bashed from jennifer fans!

No..in gujarat..no one wears such open backless blouse regularly and transparent dupatta that shows belly. Even blouse is there ..back is covered with hairs, not dropping on side to show back😆
This kind of dress in now wear during Navratri only. Kumari's dress is more appropriate for gujarati custom esp girls from village. Even in cities is more of jeans-tshirt and punjabi dresses like kumari. Dupatta are more bandhani (cotton) style not transparent

Esp.they have shown village..I agree with the topic maker that her dresses are more revealing..

I do love Kumud's outfits - but you're right, it's a bit strange when the rest of the girls are dressed more conservatively than her 😕
