well i think THATS a reason why they call this a reality tv show. It is meant to expose "REAL EMOTIONS" and "REAL DRAMA" as they happen backstage or not as long as the camera's rolling. tho i'd beg to differ 😛 As for whether it is unethical to show backstage footage, blame the format if you have to. Also knowing that u have submitted to this format, those involved should exercise personal restraint and conduct themselves appropriately on the SETS or simply put, put on his/her best behaviour for the camera cos who noes who's watching u😉

there's a tendency imo for people to assume that if the media wasn't covering backstage, everything would be ok. but reality is that if someone has a really loose tongue or is prone to bad behavior, they'll sooner or later be shooting themselves in the foot. just a matter of time. they might win a competition or two, might even seem to be getting successful, but the more they go on without incident, the harder they'll fall when they do. there's no substitute for being generally nice on and off-the-camera. 😊

thanks. it's like people who dont have it are like accidents waiting to happen. they are also the kinds who believe that whatever happened is just because of one specific event, one stroke of bad luck, backstage or otherwise. the black cat did it to them, the backstage got to them next time, the judge had it in for them, the stars were not right for something else. the thinking is usually event-driven, seldom an attempt to find the underlying pattern or cause😊

oh well, dont know how i got philosophical here. maye because i'd like to think we have some control over our destiny. sry😊

Now for my own views.

There's nothing wrong in taking cameras backstage and film. But yes I personally feel the backstage part can always be avoided from being aired on the show. Finally this is a music show. You add the fun factor to the show to make it more entertaining is fine. But when you add such drama the whole aesthetic nature of the show gets marred.

Agreed....but if you were the director and producer of the show then the only thing you would care about is TRP.... remember it is business and you do business to make money.... TRP brings money😉

The audience tunes in to see onscreen talent show and what channels and the producers seem to be saying is hey we dont have enough material to show on screen that is why we show you the backstage stuff.

IMO channel is implicitly acknowledging they dont have the requisite material onstage to fill up their show so I prefer stop watching a show when they start broadcasting offstage material to promote their show

not sure i agree. i dont think it's for lack of being able to come up with enough music/ singing material. if they thought that was what the audience wanted, i am sure they cld always fill the programming with such material. if they are not doing it, it's probably because it doesnt work for them, or the audiences either.

SMS's bring direct money. TRPs will multiply the money flow by attracting more advertisements and selling time for more money!!
