Xu Kai fans demand justice as Weibo gets summoned by China's Cyber National Administration

Those familiar with Chinese dramas and entertainment will know about Weibo. The social platform is used by every Chinese celeb to connect with his or her fans. It does not take seconds for content to go viral given the reach of Weibo. Now, China’s National Cyber Administration has summoned officials from Weibo for disrupting the ecology of information being dispersed through such platforms. It seems the app is flooded with content relating to celebrity. Some of them are very trivial matters like personal updates, spotting and so on. Officials have claimed that such efforts to hype up artists has harmed the ‘search’ ecology as main issues get relegated.

Xu Kai, 30, is one of the most popular Chinese actors globally. He is known for his shows like Story of Xanxi Palace, Falling Into Your Smile, The Legends, She and Her Perfect Husband and more. In August 2025, he got embroiled in an infidelity scandal. Xu Kai, faced immense trolling on social media. Xu Lisha, the former girlfriend of Xu Kai had alleged that he gets physically close with women after pretending that he is drunk. She also alleged that he took a junior actress Zhao Qing inside a hotel room.

He denied all the rumours saying that he was rehearsing his lines with Zhao Qing. His fans have said the bullying that Xu Kai faced on Weibo should be investigated. It seems he brought a traffic of 33.95 billion to Weibo. They said he is supporting the entire domestic industry. His last drama was also a big hit. He faced huge cyber-bullying after Xu Lisha shared some chats on Weibo. The matter quietened down in some time. It should be noted that this directive has come after netizens are raising alarming speculative questions on circumstances surrounding death of Yu Menglong.
