One of the issues raised by some people in the past few days was that it is wrong for cameras to follow people backstage or out of the auditorium. I am wondering about this.

In todays' world of reality shows, the new reality is that there is no backstage! One cannot put up a decent behaviour inside an auditorium only to go and spit venom backstage. There are cameras and reporters everywhere. Hypocrisy is easily detected these days.

I think this is good for contestants, judges and everyone else. The only way to survive in this world is to be serene and in control of emotions.

In don't know. I am sceptical.

It's easy to say but much more difficult to control emotions. There may be occasional outbursts.

It's good to film but its even better to execute the editing rights sensibly. Media looks for sensation, but in the process compromise on the sensitivity issue. A balance should be there between the two so that neither sensitivity or sensationalism gets away and things are balanced and well presented. One does not have to be crude or loud and yet deliver the punch but in a much refined way. Rising above sensationalism is all about good journalism I feel.

Now for my own views.

There's nothing wrong in taking cameras backstage and film. But yes I personally feel the backstage part can always be avoided from being aired on the show. Finally this is a music show. You add the fun factor to the show to make it more entertaining is fine. But when you add such drama the whole aesthetic nature of the show gets marred.

i think it's a perfectly valid thing to do. also can be entertaining for the masses, which is why they do it in the first place. 😉 it's like the media tracking down some politician and finding out they are not so preacher-like in their personal lives as they are making out to be. that's useful to know. or someone who walks onto a stage trying to drum up the poor votes, we get all impressed, but find out he's getting into a rolls royce on the way out. helps the audience see someone's true colors 😉 😆

u r right, but now in reality shows they show all these back stage dramas 2 increase the TRP of the show. in a music show these should be avoided.

Sure when they have reached with there camera into there house and bed room showing misery and making money nothing wrong to take it to back stage more money absolutely 101% correct helps the audience see someone's true colors.

actually, talent show people wldnt even go as far as ordinary media in chasing people. they'll probably not go somewhere if the contestant does not want his/ her family to be on candid camera😉

It would be ok if they filmed backstage as a rule and not just to expose irated walkouts. Trump's Apprentice show films all exits from the show in a cab as they depart from the premises and it seems ok when they do it as a rule.
