Maya take the above case. The contestant wanted to keep that part away from public glare but channel house sent the reports to media with the Ph Nos. of the PR of these contestants. So that quotes from Poonam can be taken. The girl was livid when called by media. How fair is that on the part of Channel house then? Did they really do it just keeping the Poonam help factor in mind or was TRP/Money also a part of the thought process for such an act.

True and I am sure we missed out on some more words Loria's dad may have said backstage. I am sure the channel has a lot more filmed on every elimination , not just Aamir's.

Moderator's Note:
It has already been mentioned not to turn the topic into Amir's elimination issue. Please lets keep that away from this discussion. The poster you replied to never made any mention of such a fact.

I think it is really not correct for the cameras to follow people backstage and without permission of the people being filmed , it is absolutely no. It is ok within the confines of the studio that to within the setting.

I can think of only one meaning for backstage, that is what many of us know as green room. It should not be extended to include any other place!!

yaar but i am very skeptical when they go back and say they did not want it shown. apne maa baap ko aur kya bolenge, that i told them we are poor? i am skeptical because they inevitably end up gaining more sympathetic votes after all the attention highlighting their plight.

fwiw, i dont feel most people ever vote on the basis of real talent anyway. the personal connection we feel for someone far outweighs objectivity. and we can see that even in the way adults vote in elections, let alone teenagers for a tv show. if that's what will draw votes, the channels have to then go with it i think😊

Let me put it this way..I think I am in favour of backstage filming (with full knowledge of participants and their families) as long as backstage means greenroom and areas close to auditorium. However filming of households is strictly with permission of contestants.

CB in Poonam's case the whole thing was completely different. The channel house made the recording of her house and showed it on channel. Poonam was no where then at Lucknow. And no economical issue was raked up by her mother either on that video. But it was the channel house who made those statements in the media about her daughter and garibi and how she made sure to take care of the kid. And worse was that later it was found that channel house while giving the reason for the adoption gave a wrong story.

but how can it be otherwise? there are laws against tresspassing etc. Last thing a channel needs to do if someone does not welcome them with open arms. Who needs potential lawsuits? so that's all the more reason i believe if we have someone to thank for for all the wonderful home-science scenes, it's the contestants themselves😊

ok for the sake of full disclosure, i am a poonam fan. but still, it would have to be a fact i think that the channel could only get inside her home after permission from someone in the household. and yes, i do admire the fact that she never asked for votes on that basis, best i can recall. but surely, she still gained from it. it always does i feel, however objective we try to be

In Poonam's case, the facts came to light only after she got eliminated. Point is, I don't think anyone has to sign a contract saying that they have to sell themselves for two years as Qwestda alleged. They have every right to guard their privacy, and they must openly protest if they feel their rights have been violated. If they don't protest, it means they have no problem.
