@vidya let me tell you one personal experience. It's a sensitive topic, but I cannot but put it as I felt as a 18 yr old that day. It is regarding reservations. It was when I wrote entrance I started hearing abt reservations and realized since I belong to forward community I do not have reservation. Based on my rank I got electrical though I very much wanted electronics and communication.
When I joined college what I saw a girl who was atleast 6000-7000 rank behind me, who had scrapped through intermediate was in electronics. No she didnt come from any poor family. She came from a rich business family who had a driver to drop her to college, while I belonged to upper middle class family and was commuting my bus. I had merit entrance rank in top 2000, more than 85% marks for intermediate still I was asked to go to electrical, while in the name of reservation someone who lacked merit was in electronics. There was enough anger in me to burn the system. I had cried also. But I put that behind me and studied and landed a good job.

System has lot of problems. If you focus on the problem, if you keep on harping I am a victim, you will burn in anger, looking at your shortcomings destroying yourself and others. It is because of something that happened in the past. You cannot change it. Look at the present and what you got.

If you dont get MBBS it is not end of the world. There are other options to study including para medical courses. Fight it out, come to a position where you hold the power to change the system, then you change the system. Get the power. You can always say system is wrong, system did this to me. Fight within the system. Get in the mud and dirty your hands and rise like a lotus bringing positive change. Dont stand at the shore and shout i am a victim, system did this to me.

I can never accept system did this to me because as I said, I have come across live examples of people who had fought within the system. Yes system sucks, but suicide or becoming victim will not change system. It will only become a news item.

That incident did make me research a lot on caste system, reservation policy of India, mandal commission, you can say anything and everything about reservation instead of sitting and complaining about it. Instead today I use the knowledge to help the students who genuinely need the benefit of reservation, but are unaware of it. I would not have been in a position to tell those students about scholarship schemes available for students from backward communities who are in dire need of them. Because reservation benefits does not reach the beneficiary, scholarships dont reach the beneficiary it is taken up by the creamy layer in those communities who does nothing for their brethren who desperately needs that help.

It is not that reservation is bad, it is the way it is implemented causes social inequality as deserving are denied justice.

Anami Satrupa is showing wrong way to Laddu, you are uncomfortable when Ladoo warms upto Satrupa. She is good for him Anami. The big dialogue you told Vikku. From where you are standing you dont like Sudha, but where I am standing she is right for me. Same thing Ladoo did today. Then coming to sanskaar and respect. You call your grandfather bade miyya, grandmother bade miya ki begam, Pujan makuknadh, Avdhoot Samosa chap, Adhiraj dharoga babu. Do you respect them. Is this your sanskaar. Giving names to people as you wish. Pujan is elder to you, Avdhoot is elder to you, Adhiraj is elder to you. Base minimum they need to be called their given names not names you deem right for them. And what did Ladoo do he asked bhola please, he has not lost his sanskaar, he is putting his sanskaar in the new things he learned. He gave respect, he called name but told Aap.

It is not by naming attaching ji, aur wearing banarasi dress, or drinking banarasi chai you keep your sanskaar, you keep your sanskaar when you are able to express it in any language, any culture, any dress. Because these are only mediums to express yourself. You blame Satrupa she doesnt understand you. She uses force with you. When Ladoo didnt behave the way you wanted what did you do, you raised hand at him. You used force at him. With each step you are losing right to question Satrupa. Yesterday you asked Narotham his identity for Vatsalya dreams and today you raised your hand at Ladoo.

You have the theory of Pandhitayan parvarish, but in your gene in your action you have Satrupa. Ladoo is Pandhitayan gene and he is taking Satrupa's mentoring and expressing her gene and parvarish the right way in actions.

Most interesting aspect. What were you telling.Let gundas come, they cant do anything blah blah. Understand the risk of LM. This is the learning for you. Understand what Adhiraj, Satrupa was telling you. The reality of LM is going to hit you hard. The grey is going to hit you hard Anami. You are going to hit ground.

Yes Satrupa is giving wrong direction to Ladoo, but could you understand the wrong direction of Sudha. You cannot stand Ladoo near Satrupa. you expect Satrupa to tolerate Sudha her souten. It is easy to talk Anami, it is difficult to practice.

Coming to Sudha. Narotham has unnerved her. She is in a soup. If she signs she wont get LM, if she dont sign she will lose Anami and if she loses Anami then she will be thrown out of LM.Purushottam says they will finish off Anami. Ladoo hears it and as expected they kidnap him and wants to kill him. Yes desperate Sudha has made the cardinal mistake. It is the beginning of her downfall.

Adhiraj has seen the location but Purushottam escapes. But Adhi gets asthma pump. I am sure that pump will have a huge role to play else it wouldnt have been shown.

@vidya since you said you are working in backward district in TN wanted to check with you on few things.
Are you aware of the various government schemes available to backward castes for education

Are you aware of the merit scholarships that are given both by public and private sectors.

Is any type of career guidance, support in application given to these students by teachers

Are you aware of the skill india initiative under which many corporates are giving free job oriented training and placement opportunists to people from financially weak families.

If you are aware it is fine, if you do not know and wants to make a change, help genuinely interested students we can have discussion offline.

I have been working in this area for past 7 years and have collected quite a lot of information to support case to case basis. Very recently we managed to get scholarship for a guy whom our CSR initiative have sponsored till 12th std. We dont support college education at org level, but we try to see any of the deserving students we supported till 12th can get scholarships from other sources to continue their studies.

If indeed Satrupa saves laddoo then the game is over for Sudha at LM. Because laddoo will surely reveal what he has heard. I am curious to know how Sudha and purushotham continue this cat and mouse agenda. They have to come out and wage s open war. Where does this leave Narottam?

First I have to say this. I was waiting for the kidnapping, it will move the story. But this kid is so cute, so sweet I wanted to just hug him. To see his little head bobbing in the big bundle with Anami screaming his name in the foreground. Ladoo, Laduwa. 😭.
Other than the kidnapping, What is sanskar is the name of the episode today for me.

I know a little bit of the world Ladoo is facing. My parents emigrated to the US when we were kids. Their biggest fear was that the world we were exposed to will make us forget our roots. Our citizenship is in one country, but we are first generation there and our roots and family history tracing back generations is in another. But my parents did. They taught us through language, music lessons, told us stories like Pagli Panditayen did. If i am able to talk about the MB today in any way it is because of the effort they put in. That does not mean I am not familiar with US culture or not a part of it. In fact a large part of my thinking and my life is that.

I call parents of my American friends by name, but every desi of my parents generation auntyji and uncleji even if they are not related to you. You can have roots in two continents, love two culture, speak many languages. One does not negate the other. The more you are exposed to, the more you learn people are the same all over the world. With the same hopes, dreams. Most will respond to a warm smile even if you don't speak their language. Ladoo's world will only expand further by the knowledge he gains.

Anami is holding on to Benaras on a pedestal because she is afraid she will lose herself. That is why the insistence on the clothes, the braids, chai drinking in that annoying way. The Ganga flowing in Benaras is not special. It is the same river. God is everywhere, not just in Benaras. There is a devotional song in Tamil about how Narayana will be in a pillar or a speck. "Thunilum Iruppar, Thurumbilun iruppar'. My parents tell me that they do not connect with India now because it has changed so much, it is not the India they grew up in. Perhaps Anami is afraid of that ? That she will not recognize Benaras of her memories if she does not keep everything the same. Ladoo adapts well to change.

Coming to Satrupa I am not at all pleased with the faces she made when Anami was talking about Panditayen. Every time I try to like that woman she does something that makes me dislike her a lot more. Respect Panditayen especially then only will I ever even respect her. Jaise Maa Waise Beti. The same things I dislike about Satrupa I dislike about Anami. Very good episode.

Shruthi if you can recall the last moment of Bhishma, Draupadi asked him why he did not stop the injustice happened to her in the rahasabha, he tells her that "during that time, my body had the blood which had the debt of Duryodhana as I had eaten his salt, means he was the master or the king and in rahasabha I was tied by that debt, so I could not stop that act.
Then she asks him again, so what made you condemn that now and he say's the arrows on which I'm laying now have pierced deep and all that blood which had. The traces of kauarava salt has drained out of my body, so i can talk right things.

Shruti I want to say sorry. I should not have brought up that Anita thing. But it affected me very much because it is my name too. I am not from India, but my family is from the same state. I do not know the system in India except what I have heard as complaints. But I could not stop feeling bad for that girl because if I had wanted to be a doctor it would have been a different story. My parents struggled so much and what I have now is directly because of that. My struggles are different but the opportunities in my life are so different because my parents struggled. That thing about God 'But for the grace of God go I' I thought about it so much then.

I don't deserve a lot of things I have, it is not through merit but because of birth. God decided where i should be born and I am grateful. Arjuna was like that to me. He had more opportunities because he was a prince. Karna and Ekalavya did not because they were poor. Most of all Arjuna had the hand of Krishna on him. What more do you need to succeed ?

I think it is easier to change the world if you don't struggle for basic necessities. I also believe you do not have to harm anyone even if you do not help. One of the wisest thing my grandma taught me is 'You put out your hand to give and to receive. Always be grateful you can give and be thankful to receive'. This show and this thread is making me think a lot about good and evil. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and you Shruti for this thread.

I saw Pujan Chacha on Porus doing an important role as Darius. Now I am worried about how it will affect our show. Seeing Kamini chachi instead of Pujan Chacha play villain by accident is making me a bit anxious.

Beeshma hid behind his vow as Bramacharya, his promise towards the gaddi of Hastinapur, namak of Duryodhan. Wrong is wrong. What happened to Draupadi was wrong then and wrong now. If we see a strange woman being disrobed today humanity demands we step up to help her. Same as then and these were her relatives. Rules of good are the same throughout time. God does not change his rules. Beeshma is a kayir, a coward. He could not face the truth till the end for me anyway and is not someone I can respect.
