Thank you for the post. I watched the episode earlier but logged on here just now and noticed that I missed the boat.

Wonderful discussion.. I was reading all types of comments to get a general trend of thoughts and i am kind of satisfied to see that most people in this forum found today's episode disturbing. It truly was!

I understand that Rudra had a disturbing past .. or Rudra is desperate to save his uniform ...or Rudra has obligations to those who died in that mindless encounter ... But nothing gives him the right to harass a woman who is simply a suspect.

A lot might disagree, but more than that burning scene, i found that henna applying scene very offensive. It was as if a woman was being abused in public by a man in a position and the whole society was watching the scene with serious attention! Horrible!

All I can say is that Jallad is too polite of a word to describe Rudra

There better be a strong repentance track

While his trauma at the loss of his mother and subsequent harsh upbringing does evoke sympathy, I cannot feel sorry for a man in a position of such immense power, who acts in such a foolhardy and hot-blooded manner. The reason he is in this position today is because he chose to disregard protocol and handle things his way. And it proved to be a temporary solution. He may have stopped this one baarat (at such enormous cost), but if he cannot prove his charges, he will have done nothing to save the future brides from Birpur. And that is not Paro's fault, it is Rudra's. HE ensured that Paro was his only witness-- and a damned unreliable one at that. He can't even make her say she SAW the gunfire from the other side, because she would be lying under oath and he knows it. That is why he says he wants her to sign a document that says that Birpur and Thakur deal in arms under the guise of these sham wedding processions-- not that she SAW the wedding procession open fire. In fact, if Paro knows what's going on, as he believes, it ought to occur to him that it is mere CHANCE that she didn't lift a gun and attempt to shoot him herself-- and have him kill her as well, thereby leaving NO witnesses. (I am ignoring the massive loopholes the CVs have left and going only with their plot.)

I see Paro as an unfortunate victim of circumstances, and Rudra digging himself deeper into his own grave. Sure I feel a little sorry for him. Sorry that he is so prejudiced and foolhardy. But not nearly as sorry as I feel for Paro.

You are completely right in pointing out Rudra's flaws. He should be kicked in the head for the idiocy. Infact he should be suspended, with great power comes great responsibility. The show started with him being warned and we knew exactly how he would react. That is the biggest gripe with his character he uses his uniform to hide his angst, but it is spilling over in his job. Now with the mela coming up I really hope he is got a better plan than to go randomly start shooting.

seeing it on screen is making us react this way, imagine the plight of girls who are in this situation, how repulsed and petrified will they be?...

My heart tells me that there will be no wedding ... but one never knows what CVs have lined up for us 😭

Very nice post .To feel the real impact of the situation just put yourself in Paros shoes and you will know how difficult it is for her.Staying with completely unknown people and being forced to get married to her husbands killer and can't share her pain with anyone .Her own people disowned her because they have their own "good reasons".Her pain and loneliness is killing

Ah !! Repentance...what an interesting thought... I remember, not so long ago... there was another serial with very similar situations... some audience were hoping for a repentance track which never saw the light of the day... all is fair when the hero is the abuser because it sold as romance there is an audience to lap it up... 😛 to hell with the dignity and feelings of the abused - if its a girl...

I think it was extremely wicked of Rudra first to provoke her and then turn into her care giver. I think that hurt Paro sa more than the actual burning of her hands. To accept help from one you loath the most is the most disgraceful thing to happen to someone. So the scene was pretty intense. I would have called the scene romantic if under different circumstances Rudra sa had applied that cooling henna on Paro sa's burnt hands. Had there been no undercurrents of hatred between them.
But under current circumstances, there was certainly nothing romantic about Rudra sa's gesture. Had he not provoked her, Raro sa would not have taken such a drastic step.

But all said and done, and also because there must be something wrong in me, I certainly enjoyed the intensity, my heart went dhak dhak and I definitely went all "awww" over them.

(Yes, something is wrong with me. )😆

Have you ever been burnt? While cooking, have you accidentally grabbed the edge of a hot pan? Have you eaten too hot a pakora? How about a candle accidentally dripping wax on your skin? You react, immediately. It hurts--instantly. And the burn is like nothing on earth. You cry, like a mother***. Scream that the top of your lungs, demand sympathy from your loved ones, and why not? It HURTS. And it is a pain that is so pervasive, your entire mind, not to mention that of your family, is focused on that one inch of reddened, inflamed skin for the next week.

Now imagine the kind of hatred, the sheer helplessness, the sense of entrapment, the panicked terror infusing every inch of Parvati, Last Name Unknown. NOT Parvati Ranawat, because she never chose to be. Not Parvati Rudra anything---because she has a last name, in her mind---the name of her dead spouse. She does not get married every Tuesday. She is a widow. To not be able to mourn that death, to be forced to marry the man who killed her man--that realization came clearly to me, tonight.

Imagine the kind of desperation that makes a woman, trapped in every other way, fight back by dashing herself against the wall, hurting herself because she cannot hurt anyone else. And the unfairness of it--she is an innocent woman against whom a sin is being committed. A woman who cannot bear the thought of doing something that is against her culture, embedding that man's identity into her very skin. She burns that skin, for one ... two ... three ... four ... five ... six ... seven ... eight---excruciating seconds. She takes the self inflicted, insane pain with nothing more than a few muffled cries, until he comes to stop her.

And then, her entire pain, her entire protest---so desperately, so silently made, such a scream from her soul---that resistance is immediately, ruthlessly, completely negated by the man she is protesting against. Rudra could have lost this round. Such a small thing--but she is made to submit. Because---he does not lose. In public, before everyone, not one of whom seem to know what is happening to her before their eyes.

We know. So an earnest request??? Lets love the intensity, adore the couple, celebrate the future. But for now??? Lets not go "Haila! Rudra kitne romantic shomantic hai by God!!" over a scene of self-abuse and forcible submission.

Brilliantly put. Espeically @bold. HEr desperation really came through powerfully today. Wonderful screenplay and just outstanding acting by Sanaya. But all of that underlines the injustice that is being perpetrated on her. Whatever the reasons. for her, from her eyes, it is really wrong. No matter how many times he's saved her life.

The wedding cannot and should not happen. Not untill the truth is made clear to all. And his cover (of that moral righteousness) is pulled. completely.

Brilliant Post, For a few episodes , Rudra's leching towards Paro was making me feel quite uncomfortable and yesterday was the height!. While it was the first time in so many episodes, that Paro actually rebelled against this sham marriage albeit by hurting herself I am atleast glad that Finally the CVs have bought Paro back on track.
But a disturbing scene nervertheless made even more tasteless by an inappropriate BG score.
I feel this humanising of Rudra track is not being executed well .
