One more thing about today's show:

Earlier in the week, they showed both Kush & Luv getting their feet pricked with thorns😵

But in today's episode, they clearly showed both of them wearing padukas, especially in the last scene where Kush was bitten by the snake and died. I don't mind them being depicted either barefeet or with padukas, but wouldn't they have had padukas right when they left the ashram, rather than somewhere in between? Where could they have gotten padukas from, if they left home barefeet?

Tsk tsk, Sagars

And also how is it that Parvati is portrayed as one who has no clue of what is to happen............
Cmon she too is one of the forms of Adishaktis right? And she too is a "Sarvagnya" - all knowing...?????😕
She's questioning Shiva like how I do to my husband when watching a suspense thriller.......😔 Only thing, my husband does not say it is Vidhi ka Vidhaan....😛

Oh, they were wearing Padukas even climbing the mountain using the rope ie Vanar's tail........... May be they built a couple of pairs of Padukas too, while building the raft 😕

Today's episode was half baked - due to technical problems (NDTV Imagine is as brilliantly run as Sagar Arts 👎🏼), after the first break, they showed the balance of Friday's episode. I dunno if there will be either a video update or a written update today.

At any rate, the story picked up with Luv going to look for help for Kush, and Mahadev, as usual, convincing Parvati that Luv is being tested. Sita in the meantime was upset (maybe she had a premonition, or maybe she had heard from Valmiki) about the situation they were in. So Luv went searching all over the place to look for help.

In the meantime, 3 villagers while coming noted Kush's body, and the snake-bite, and took him to the village. After examining him, they concluded that the chances of his survival were slim, and asked that he be put on a raft with a red flag that would indicate to anybody who saw him that he was a snake-bite victim. They did so, and after a while, some other people on the bank of the river saw the raft, determined that he was a snake bite victim, and so pulled the raft over. They started examining him and found the snake bite, and that's where that part of the story ends.

In the meantime, after roaming around in the middle of nowhere, Luv finally ends up at the gateway of a fort. The people of the place are thrilled to see him and surround him, and invite him to be their king. They tell him that the astrological signs indicate that whoever appeared there at that moment was destined to be their king. Luv tries hard to get them to come to his help and resurrect Kush, but they place a turban on his head and declare him their king.

Now for the observations re: this bizzare twist:

  1. If Luv is the one being tested, why is Kush's body taken away and floated off a river? It's not enough that Luv has to get help from somewhere, but presumably, after he gets the help, he'll then have to first hunt for Kush, and then save him? As it is, the clock was ticking as far as Kush's life goes - one can only have serpent venom for soooo long, and if that's not ugly enough, Mr Vidhi, owner of the great Vidhan😈 has to toss in this monkey wrench into the works?
  2. I understand that Luv is being tested for greed, which is why he's offered a kingdom, the same way as one of Surasura's rakshashas were. But while everybody, or at least all the men there, wore crowns very much like that of the Raghukuls, they crown Luv with a turban similar to the one worn in Maratha history by Tanaji Mulasare. If you're trying to make somebody a king in the treta yuga, wouldn't a normal crown be what is expected? Particularly when we aren't talking here about a tribe like the Nishadas, but rather, a city with an urban population?

This was as far as they had shown - I'm guessing tomorrow they may re-run today's episode.

Oh my dear Ramji, where are you, when we all need you? I hope that Gurmi is enjoying his break, but we are suffering badly, worse than Luv and Kush. Shivji, could you please explain the viewers' fate? Like Chen said, is this suffering our "vidhi" as well! No wonder the TRP has gone down the tubes, and the technical difficulty did not help the matter one bit! Yes, the Sagars have turned in to rakshasas to develop this kind of story, and I definitely don't mean the funny and lovable rakshasas!😡
There are so many inconsistencies in the story that I am not even trying to make sense out of the missing padukas, Chandra! The 7 year old boys are being tested more than their ancestors

Chatter

You are right. But the Sagars have already very clearly demonstrated that they don't care about us stupid viewers, it's all about their vidhans, so at least as far as that goes, this thread no longer has that purpose.

Plus, in my update, I point out what is wrong with their show, even if the above story was authentic, which isn't obvious. So this too can be a feedback, assuming that they care.

One thing to note - the original doubts & discussions thread in the important topics section generally discusses any doubts one may have re: the original epic as per Valmiki, and discuss the similarities and differences between the original epic and the show. But now, the 2 are so different that it doesn't make sense to post anything about the serial itself in that thread. Normally, I'd have posted this in the update thread, but there is no update today since there was only half a serial.

The Sagars may not care about this thread itself, but let it stay, since it is about our views on the serial itself.

In the precap to an episode the voice was that of a child and the precap said "ye bade bade rakshas". The tone was as if it was being said to children. Does it mean that it is the intention of Sagars to make episodes for children? If so, then I wonder - whether children are really liking the episodes?😕

I'm sure kids certainly appreciate Shiva's constant 'Vidhi ka vidhan' refrain. If it's targeted at kids, I wonder whether the same was true of Sita's exile?
