Today's episode was half baked - due to technical problems (NDTV Imagine is as brilliantly run as Sagar Arts 👎🏼), after the first break, they showed the balance of Friday's episode. I dunno if there will be either a video update or a written update today.
At any rate, the story picked up with Luv going to look for help for Kush, and Mahadev, as usual, convincing Parvati that Luv is being tested. Sita in the meantime was upset (maybe she had a premonition, or maybe she had heard from Valmiki) about the situation they were in. So Luv went searching all over the place to look for help.
In the meantime, 3 villagers while coming noted Kush's body, and the snake-bite, and took him to the village. After examining him, they concluded that the chances of his survival were slim, and asked that he be put on a raft with a red flag that would indicate to anybody who saw him that he was a snake-bite victim. They did so, and after a while, some other people on the bank of the river saw the raft, determined that he was a snake bite victim, and so pulled the raft over. They started examining him and found the snake bite, and that's where that part of the story ends.
In the meantime, after roaming around in the middle of nowhere, Luv finally ends up at the gateway of a fort. The people of the place are thrilled to see him and surround him, and invite him to be their king. They tell him that the astrological signs indicate that whoever appeared there at that moment was destined to be their king. Luv tries hard to get them to come to his help and resurrect Kush, but they place a turban on his head and declare him their king.
Now for the observations re: this bizzare twist:
- If Luv is the one being tested, why is Kush's body taken away and floated off a river? It's not enough that Luv has to get help from somewhere, but presumably, after he gets the help, he'll then have to first hunt for Kush, and then save him? As it is, the clock was ticking as far as Kush's life goes - one can only have serpent venom for soooo long, and if that's not ugly enough, Mr Vidhi, owner of the great Vidhan😈 has to toss in this monkey wrench into the works?
- I understand that Luv is being tested for greed, which is why he's offered a kingdom, the same way as one of Surasura's rakshashas were. But while everybody, or at least all the men there, wore crowns very much like that of the Raghukuls, they crown Luv with a turban similar to the one worn in Maratha history by Tanaji Mulasare. If you're trying to make somebody a king in the treta yuga, wouldn't a normal crown be what is expected? Particularly when we aren't talking here about a tribe like the Nishadas, but rather, a city with an urban population?
This was as far as they had shown - I'm guessing tomorrow they may re-run today's episode.
