Chatter, IJ to gaya. Jaane do yaar. 😆 No, I should put 😭 for u. But Praphulla is still around so be happy 🥳 Chatter. 😆

I am a Vishnu/Ramji bakht so I don't care for IJ all that much. 😲

Chen and Chandra, I just meant that Shatrughan kills Lavanasur when the kids r getting in Valmiki's ashram in the other versions.

Chandra, no more assignments. 😆 There r hundreds of versions in every language that I need another lifetime to go through them all. The languages of Ramayan include Sanskrit, Prakrit, all Indian languages (from North to South and East to West), Malaysian, Indonesian, Sri Lankan, and even Japanese. It takes so much time to go through every version that all other work comes to a full stop. Cannot do that yet, not time for Sanyas yet, cos I still have duties to fulfill! 😆

Nah, I was just saying this: in the main Ramayan they were showing all the stories at the same time. They used to show Ramji searching in Vanvas, vali/sugreev story, ravan and his shenanigans, IJ and his story, and so many other things every episode. This made it very interesting to watch Ramayan.

In Uttarkand, they have to do the same thing. Show Luv-kush in Kuber lok, show Ramji and brothers, the brothers' children and their activities, Lavansur episodes, and stuff like that. If they show this in each episode (just as they showed many things in each episode in the main Ramayan), it would make Uttarkand more interesting. By showing only Luv-Kush it has become a little dull.

That was what the original thread on 'Suggestions for the Sagars' was about. A lot of us put a whole bunch of stuff in, including the suggestion that events from Ayodhya, Mathura and Valmiki ashram be shown (note that here, it was assumed that Shatrughan's kids were born and brought up in Mathura separately from Lakshman's & Bharat's kids).

I understand that they're pulling stuff out of many Ramayans, but that's like doing a pot luck party with one person preparing say S Indian, another Punjabi, a third Chinese, another Russian, another Ethiopian and so on. Ultimately, do you think people will be able to digest such a menu? That's what we are seeing here - these guys are going heavily either on the Ananda Ramayan, and Jataka tales. If it weren't for the credits, nobody would guess what the serial was.

Okay, no more assignments for you. I'm guessing that with these clowns, Shatrughan will never be a king.

Speaking strictly IMHO, I am enjoying all the stories. I want to learn more about the sources. I have started reading (in small bits) everyday. Some versions are really whacko but there are lots of stories which are really nice though different from Valmiki. I am enjoying the journey and I am also awed by the diversity and beauty of our Indian traditions. I did not know that such diversity existed until I saw this Sargar version.

Chandra, I do agree that the Kuber lok story seems more like something they would film for small children. I love the new breed of rakshas...what colors...blue, green, red, Jamaica mon et all. 😆. It may be that the Sagars r trying to capture the little people as well with this story line. 😆

I am waiting for the Ram geet shiksha from Valmiki, Asvamedha sacrifice, and Ramji meeting his children.

Gurmiji, where r u?

Well, for those of us who had our wish-list, looks like the Ananda (Sagar) Ramayan has already determined the outcome:

  • Kush is dead😭
    • Sita's prayers to Mahadeva have been in vain (at least by half)🤔
      • The power of her pativrata is being demonstrated as a farce 🥺
  • Luv is now alone in the middle of nowhere, and Hanuman is gloating over his plight
  • Shiva seems to have a sadistic enjoyment at what's happening to them😲😲😲 - somehow, their age seems rather irrelevant to the tests they are being asked to perform. (It's like expecting my 7 year old to ace the MBA, and assigning it all to destiny 🤡)
  • Parvati looks like the only one here with a heart (and a brain to match)🤗

Nice going, Sagars!!!👎🏼

So much like the gods we all know and love! NOT!!!😡

Aah! Viddhi Ka Viddhan! From ur write-up it seems like the Sagars have turned into Rakshas. 😆😆😆 Rakshasas r telling the story of Ramayan. 😭

Agree 200% Chandra & Khalrika.......
Wow, even Ram did not have so much to go thro' in his childhood. But then Luv Kush are the Godly sons of a Human Father... (as Ananya said earlier)....
But still its getting too much to handle. What are the Sagars aiming at??? No wonder their TRPs are nowhere on the chart.
Probably Kush will have a Punarjanma after Luv clears his share of the so called test. I hope they dont proceed to a Uttar Ramayan without Kush. 😕
