In fact, she was already married to someone else when Krishna seranaded her, but their friendship was just that. This is the first I'm reading of Radha being the one to tell Krishna's wives on how to keep their husband happy.

As an aside, I'm surprised that Lakshmi, who incarnated as Rukmini, agreed to have co-wives to Vishnu. Wouldn't that have been a humiliation for her?

Exit question: In the treta yug, Vishnu preceded Sesha-nag, but in the Dwapar yug, the opposite happened. Are there any stories as to why?

chandra this i know a bit abt why sheshnaag preceded vishnu
sheshnaag told him that in treta yug i was ur younger brother but in ur next incarnation i want tobe ur elder brother
i dont know the full story of it but this was sheshnaag story
though for some reason im fascinated with sheshnaag and the entire story and the role of lakshman
i particularly enjoyed when lakshman was unconscious and indrajeet tried to lift him but cudnt and the background sound was so apt there
this only due to the fact that lakshman was sheshnaag incarnate
not that i have lost my adoration for my indrajeet
hahahhaaa

Mandavi would make a good Draupadi, while 'Dhanya' (there she is again 😆) would make a good Subhadra. I'd make 'Kaikeyi' here Devaki, Jaya Ojha here would be Kunti.

Balaram would probably be best played by Praphulla, given that Praphulla combines both the physique and fury. Vijay Bhatia would make a good Pradyumna, while Ankit would be a good Satyaki, and 'Shatrughan' would make a good Arjun. Akhilendra would be a good Jarasandha, while Rakesh Deewana would be a good Kamsa. I'd also have Pankaj Kalra playing Shalva. Can't think of a good Shishupala from this cast.

Oh o.... looks the cast of Sagars Mahabharat is already brewing up...............

I happen to agree with Chen2chic - I too have read about Satyabhama being Krishna's fav, not Rukmini. The Tulabharam incident was just there to demonstrate a lesson about the name of god being greater than god itself, but it in no way reflected who Krishna's favorite was. When Krishna went out on his campaign against Narakasura, he took Satyabhama with him, and once, it was Satyabhama who asked Draupadi how she managed to satisfy 5 hubbies when Krishna's 16108 wives couldn't satisfy even him. Draupadi taught her accordingly, and likely, that was how Satyabhama worked her way into being Krishna's favorite.

Thnx Chandraketu for supporting my view. In the Mahabharata, when Draupadi goes to work as Sairandiri under Queen Sudeshna in King Virat's place, she introduces herself and says that she had worked for Krishna's fav. queen Satyabhama and Draupadi, and that is how the queen agrees to employ her.
Oh yes, and also the Narakasura story, I think Satyabhama was the charioteer of Krishna, right?
And also is there a special significance of the number 16,108? (number of wives of Krishna)

Besides, Sathyabama was the incarnation of mother Earth and Rukmini was the incarnation of Goddes Lakshmi. Lord Krishna had 8 principal queens and the rest (16,100 - if I'm not mistaken) were released from the clutches of Narakasur and Lord Krishna accepted them to vindicate their honour according to one version of the story.

Didn't know that Satyabhama was an incarnation of Bhudevi. Wow then the Narakasur fight was Parents vs Son? Since Narakasur was born of Lord Vishnu and Bhudevi after His Varaha avatar... Family fued.... mmm😉
Also there is another version that these 16,100 queens released from Narakasur were the vanars in their previous birth, in the Ram Avatar. It is said since Lord Ram could not do anything to repay these vanars for their bravery, he would take them as his wives in His next Krishna avatar.

Does draupadi introduce herself as having been a servant of queen Satyabhama??
In BRchopra MBH Draupadi introduces herself saying that she was the foremost maid of Draupadi herself and she had been serving draupadi even before she (Draupadi) was married and that King Dhrupad regarded Sairandhri as his daughter.....
Btw Sairandhri is a position , if I'm not wrong; Draupadi calls herself 'Malini"
(Sorry Chandraketu, there's no 'Dhanya' as a prefix to Malini here) 😉

I too only read of Draupadi introducing herself as the foremost maid of Draupadi. Yeah, Sairandhri is a position. I think it's another word for 'hair dresser'. She called herself 'Nalini' in the book I have.

The First 8 wives of Krishna were all incarnations of the Ashta Lakshmis (there are eight of them). Rukmini was Adi Lakshmi and so on....
Also, all the Ashta Lakshmis are ultimately one Lakshmi only, so Krishna's First 8 Wives weren't really co-wives. It was just Maya (Illusion), because they are all incarnations of Lakshmi.
After Ramayana War happened, Rama granted boons to all those who helped him. To Lakshmana, he said, "Since you have served me with devotion in this life, in the next life, I will be born as your younger brother and serve you." That's why Sesh-Nag was reborn as Balaram, and elder to Shri Krishna.

Yes, Sairandhiri was a class of people, and she calls herself Malini. I missed that out. The Mahabharata of Vyasa mentions that she said she served Satyabhama also.
She also says that Draupadi is the foremost beauty of the Kuru race...(self appreciation?👏)
