I saw this and thought of the story as it is being narrated right now .Did make me wonder how many still think it is watchable ...and what about those who are not in sync with the tale as it is unfolding ?

Let us have a healthy discussion without bashing as this I presume is the purpose of this forum >

Asad: Hi there. Uhh, my name is Asad Ahmed Khan. And well, I'm here to talk about my family. I mean I don't talk much, but my wife, Zoya, says I should. So here goes.

Zoya. She's the light of my life. No kidding. And after a lot of difficulties thanks to Tanveer, we finally got married. Oh by the way, did I mention Tanveer is my ex best friend? Oh wait, I should pay her more respect, she's now my step mother in law. I guess that means my step mother in law, who also happened to be my best friend once upon a time, tried to kill my family, sleep with me, and kill my present wife! She fits the 'step' criteria quite well doesn't she? Quite the stereotype. But don't think badly of her, she only did all that to give support to her unborn child, who, by the way, should be born by now. Not sure what's taking him/her so long. But we digress. Oh, the baby you ask? Hah, funny story there.

*looks awakwardly around*

The baby is my sister's husband's child. It was an accident. He's a good man otherwise. Really he is. So that makes my eldest nephew/niece my brother/sister in law as well! Pretty complicated huh? It could be worse I guess. Maybe I left out the detail that my wife's real father is my step mother's brother. Not by blood, but brother all the same. And she and my father are the reason my mother cried for seventeen years non stop. Oh but don't worry about this. All is well now.

I didn't know you knew about that story. Well, let me tell you in detail then. Basically, I gave up my going to be wife to my step brother, whom I adore so much, so that my step sister won't commit suicide. There's a huge issue about her dusky complexion, making her unable to get married, and somewhere her in laws said they wouldn't get their son married to her if her brother didn't bring his wife home. His wife, who is my wife, wasn't really his wife. It was just a misunderstanding, see.

How? Well, basically both were running from gundas, and got into this quick marriage thing to hide from them. Coincindentally, both said 'yes' three times on the phone so the Qazi pronounced them married. He was a great person, awed by the fact two rich people had a simple marriage! He was so proud of the simplistic, non attention grabbing style of marriage two people from a rich household held, that he decided to announce it to the public and make a big deal out if it anyway! Okay, I'll have to agree with you. Quite the paradox is it not? He had good intentions. Please don't think him bad. Anyway, I stopped the whole conference in time. And regarding the Nikaah, dont let me delve into details of Islam. I'd rather talk about 'tehzeeb' 'tameez' and 'hayaa'. Pssst. I'll tell you a secret, please don't tell anyone. All three took a trip to Switzerland when I had my bachelor's party! I couldn't stand Zoya in a mini skirt underneath my roof, but had no issue watching a horde of barely dressed girls at my party dancing to sensual songs. This can be our dirty little secret eh?

So where were we? Yes, when the going to be in laws refused to accept her unless my fiance went over to my brother's house as his wife, my step sister, whom I'd barely said ten words to all my life, decided to commit suicide. No, she's not an airhead, please don't judge her, her first alliance had already been broken because of the constant taunts of her complexion and greed of money.

I don't know if I really want to tell you the first.. oh go ahead. You already know everything else. Yeah, her first alliance happened to be with my sister's husband.. No they weren't married then. But they were in love. Yes my sister hid it from me. I should mention my step sister got married into the same family that insulted her a lot and showed their greed for money. But see, all is really well now. I think. Besides the fact my brother/sister in law will be my nephew as well. That's just.. odd. And that my mother in law once upon a time tried to seduce me and accused me of raping her. See, I would have thought that was my child! Then that would make my potential child my brother/sister in law!

No you're right. This is REALLY REALLY weird. That's maybe why I'm losing my mind and forgetting the beloved brother I sacrificed my beloved fiancee for.

Oh shit. You didn't know about that did you. Basically, my wife's step sister fell in love with my step brother since childhood. He left her to make something of himself, and she seems to have fallen for this new guy who might or might not be Zoya's best friend from childhood. My brother also loved the girl dearly when he came to his senses, but I've given my blessings to the new couple without sparing my brother a single thought.

Complicated life? Tell me- Heyy don't run off!!! I haven't told you about how my wife's father had a hand in murdering his wife but has pined for their daughter ever since! That's got to stand for something doesn't it? Hullo... Where are you? Okay, clearly they're not coming back. I should keep this tale to myself shouldn't I?

Thank you for being informed but there is no reason that just because it is a Hindi serial we should not raise our expectations .I have seen some brilliant Hindi serials and am craving for the era to return . Let us also get our share of enjoyment on the National TV.

QH started wiht that promise !

Good that you both love each other... 😃

But Farhan and me are true, ishq wala love - After shireen-farhad, Laila -Majnu... we will have Harini -Farhan 😳😳😆

@TM - the story of QH has picked up tremendously in the last 1 month or so. The writing, direction and execution are top notch and the show is fast paced.

Agreed there are many loopholes and logical inconsistencies, but this is a Hindi soap not an academy award aspiring movie.

For me, I am enjoying the serial as much as I did last Feb!

Frankly mamta I have no expectations from the Hindi tv industry. Their stories are always logic defying and overtly focused on romance and kitchen drama because I guess that's what the average viewer wants. QH was better than the rest and still is in some ways. Yes it's illogical and sometimes mind numbingly stupid and in all honesty none of the actors (past or present) would ever win any global prestigious awards but I am not watching the show for such high quality fiction. If it was that I was looking for I would be watching the millions of American and British shows out there (which i do) and expect and fret more about whether those shows were diminishing in quality. With Indian cinema (tv or otherwise) I am looking for some story, a lot of drama and some semblance of logic which QH at the moment delivers. Everything else is secondary.

you are right about the fact that current hindi shows are not that much good storywise as there were many shows in past.but again i feel its always two parties fault ..makers and audience.
makers served hypothetical situation,self sacrificing bahus,evil MIls,plastic surgeries,multiple marriages,reincarnation,blah blah blah..and audience loved it.and this continued.
every show is example of this continuity.though now they have changed a bit in some shows.but stillits there is most of shows.
Qh started well..but there were always loopholes, age of leads and siblings were always confusing, gudiya factory was always confusing, the whole mangalpur track was beautiful visually but stupid logically, tanveer track was most stupid track ever but that track and afterwards gained v v good TRPs,and after july actually everything was stupid and illogical.
first we as audience should appreciate quality work and reject the rest irrespective of actors working in.for me it does not matter that there is any star or some big actor if character is written well and actor is dedicated and direction is honest,a simple character and story can do wonders .

The success of a Hindi show is measured on the curiosity it creates in the minds of the viewers. It is successful if its viewers are given enough motive to come back and switch on the TV when it airs. I have watched majority of the show's episodes ever since it went on air, so that proves its still entertaining and still watchable. Of course QH is a jumble of twists and turns, yes there are loopholes and it is flawed, but it is 'entertaining' and that's all viewers need. There are not many shows that manage to maintain its quality and entertainment factors at the same time, QH at least manages to strike that balance much more than often.

@mamta - just thought I would also make the point that Indian fiction more often than not is plagiarized work which in itself diminishes credibility or any expectation. Just my person pov. :-)
