I have several Muslim buddies and I am glad they are not as judgmental as the maker of this post. Being a Muslim doesn't mean that you follow every stupid custom, had it been that I don't see why you even watch the show or even use internet as that too isn't allowed in Islam. Religion is open to interpretation and isn't set in stone. Stop being so damn judgmental about everything.Give some one a little breathing without bombarding everyone with religious propaganda that doesn't even matter. Clothes are clothes , they don't make or break a person. It is whats within oneself that does. Grow up!!!

LOLLL WOW You blew up :P

"Being a Muslim doesn't mean that you follow every stupid custom, had it been that I don't see why you even watch the show or even use internet as that too isn't allowed in Islam."

uhm... where does it say Internet is not allowed in Islam? It does not say that actually. And what custom are you calling stupid? The first part you said till the comma does not make sense.. and is rude actually. You said how "being a Muslim doesnt mean that you follow every stupid custom"... uhm excuse me?? If you are Muslim you follow a Religion which is Islam, if you are a Hindu, you follow Hinduism, etc. So are you calling Religion Customs stupid? What you said there sounds stupid and rude. (no offense)

On the other hand...this is a forum and you can post about whatever you want about the show (unless your bashing etc) and the post maker made a post about what they thought, and we should learn to respect what people post about and also if we want give our opinions without being rude.

Anddd... this post... yeah she could of worn a shalwar if she wanted.. but since she wore a long kurta with the pants.. who cares. At the end of the day, your Neeyat matters and Allah already knows what you think. Also.. mostly people wear jeans.. I do too but during prayers I do sometimes.. but it is quite uncomfortable and if I am at work or uni then yea I pray with jeans.. does that make me a bad Muslim? No.. that doesn't make anyone a bad Muslim. So no point in arguing about Zoya wearing Jeans during Namaaz since we can't do anything about it anyways, they could have shown her wearing a proper bottom but they didn't .. so that doesn't make Zoya a bad Muslim in the show.

Anyways... this is a show at the end of the day and they have already failed to show a "Muslim background" properly.. so no point in expecting proper-ness from them .. Lol

xoxo

Ermm i wear jeans when praying... All it says is that we women have to be covered from head to toe when praying and if Zoya's jeans are doing the job of covering her, why can't she wear it ?

I am not here to please anyone so I don't give a damn whether you find my post rude or not. As far as religion is concerned , its made for guidance not oppression. As far as customs are concerned they change and need to change with time whether Hindu or Islamic. Any custom which is misogynistic or shows bias towards a particular gender deserves to be questioned.

This is not the first time I have come across such misogynistic and outdated posts on QH forum and it spoils and spreads negativity throughout the entire forum.

And no I don't agree that the makers have failed in portraying a Muslim background properly, not every person who is a Muslim follows each and every rigid tradition blindly and I don't see anything wrong in it.

The point of her wearing jeans was only for Tanveer to know she's there. There is nothing else that stands out.
No offence to any religion.

I agree with you. That was the only point of the jeans... When my mom saw that she said, "Tanveer is going to know where she is." and she was right!!!

It's nothing to do with Islam... I believe they made her wear jeans so that Tanveer could come to know the whereabouts of Zoya!! I'm pretty sure they are not meaning to hurt or point at a particular religion!

What? I pray Namaaz in jeans all the time. I don't think it's wrong as long as it's decent and covered. Turkish, Irani and other people they only wear jeans i think and they don't even have dresses like Shalwar Kameez or even the Burkaah mostly, do they not pray Namaaz in jeans? I think it says no where that you can't pray in that and actually Zoya was wearing a long shirt which was a bit loose that makes it okay i think. I mean yeah if her clothes were tight then you could have said that.

I mean she wasn't wearing capri or skinny jeans or something.

See guys, we can not just preach here unless we have quite a heatlthy knowledge about Islam which most of us don't. Yes, I wear jeans and sometimes I offer namaaz in that. But I won't go on to say that what I'm doing is right because it may not be the case. Jeans (esp skinnies) and clothes as such DO outline our figure and this kind of attire is not allowed by Islam, as far as I know. However, just like your clothes don't define your character, they don't define your prayers either. There are many things to be considered during namaaz and clothes are just ONE of them- wearing jeans will not mean that your prayers are not accepted.

With all due respect, your post is offensive in many ways.

a) Our Islamic rules do NOT change with time. The basis, as laid by our Holy Quran, remains the same. For instance, just because wearing skinny jeans is a norm nowadays doesn't mean it will be accepted by Islam- at the end of the day, it exposes and outlines our figure. Nonetheless, these restrictions do not mean that Islam hinders our progression in the world, not at all!

b) Everyone can question their religious rules and regulations, of course. But I can say with full pride that our Holy Propher (P.B.U.H.) has explained the reasons for the rules which were laid down and even now, Islamic scholars are there to answer our queries. Many 'gender discrimantory' rules have concrete reasons behind them.

c) Oh, you will be surprised to see how wrongly many aspects of Islam have been shown in QH. But since it never promised to preach Islam or any religion, I won't object to that. But believe me, all the mazaars and taweez and many other stuff shown is NOT in our religion.

Having said that, I'm not a perfect Muslim either, but just cause Muslims round the world do wrong things doesn't mean they become right in the light of Islam. So yes, you can attack US for stuff we do wrong, but please do not attack our religion.

Thank you.

I don't think anyone pays that close attention, they aren't Muslim actors, so there are bound to be mistakes 😆
