While a pair of jeans is perfectly nice to wear any day, i expect the makers of QH to know that Salaat (or namaz) the muslim prayer, cannot be performed while wearing jeans. its not allowed. its not a question of indecency or modernity or being liberal but it is a question of following some basic islamic rules.

do the makers want us to believe that zoya owns nothing except that pair of blue jeans??? im sure she can afford a salwar suit set, and look just as smart in it 😊

I'm a Muslim and I don't agree that you can't pray in jeans.

Islam says a person shouldn't dress like the opposite gender or wear clothes which are too fitting and revealing.

Who says jeans are only for men?
And her jeans weren't too fitting, plus her kameez covered most of it. Yes they could have been looser, but come on at least she is trying to be a good Muslim by praying, and that is more important.

I however do think it is silly of the writers to always make her wear jeans as if that is the only sign of a woman being modern. Modern doesn't mean Western. A girl in a kameez, a burka, a saree, or whatever can be modern, not just those in Western clothes.

People on the forum also need to calm down. Those that follow their cultures and religions shouldn't insult those that don't care about it, and those that don't care about it shouldn't insult those that do, I've seen the latter happening often on here.

A person who is modern isn't someone without morals or standards, and a person who follows a religion or culture isn't backward or stupid. We all have different perceptions of what is right and wrong, but can't we at least be civil about it, please?😊

Don't expect serials to tell u abt ur religion. QH does not portray Islamic values, it's just a show with Muslim characters. And I know whenever such things are questioned, people try to argue against it with their limited knowledge (and their personal experience) rather than talking about what the actual teachings are. As per my knowledge (what I have read and heard), Muslim women, while praying should wear loose dress that should not reveal any part of their body except the face, palms n feet. But this forum is not meant for discussing Islam n its teachings. So let's not get into it.
