As far as customs are concerned they change and need to change with time whether Hindu or Islamic. Any custom which is misogynistic or shows bias towards a particular gender deserves to be questioned.

This is not the first time I have come across such misogynistic and outdated posts on QH forum and it spoils and spreads negativity throughout the entire forum.

And no I don't agree that the makers have failed in portraying a Muslim background properly, not every person who is a Muslim follows each and every rigid tradition blindly and I don't see anything wrong in it.

LOL you make me laugh so hard ... 😆

UHH.. its not about "pleasing anyone" on this forum.. there's something called 'RESPECT" which I don't know think you have heard of?? Talking like an arrogant rude person will only hurt you in the future not anyone else ya know. So it would be nice if you would LEARN to talk nicely to people since I am not use to talking to things that dont know how to respect other people.

Also.. I disagreee .. a religion is not a written book by men which can be changed with time. You can change your thoughts but you can't change a Holy Book or Religion. Religion is a Religion and alll religions talk about peace and equality. And Yea Religion is for guidance not oppression. A custom is different from what a Religion. A custom is something we do based on our culture. All Islam says is for women to wear clothes that don't show your figure and to wear clothes that show modesty. Women are precious in Islam which is why it is stated for Women to dress nicely. That does not mean not to do fashion, wear jeans etc. Wear anything you want but you should make sure its modest :)

And Yeah Islam has answers to every question you can ask. There is proper reasoning behind everything and therefore we do not question Islam. You can question your religion.. but we can't question the teachings/rules of Islam. Every rule/teaching has a reason behind it which is valid and perfect. Therefore.. any "bias-ness" towards any gender is not questionable because there is a valid reason behind it which is acceptable.

& If you read my post... I did not say I was mad at Zoya wearing jeans or calling her names or whatever. All I said she could have worn a shalwar if the QH team wanted but they didn't so she wore jeans. That does not say make her a bad Muslim.. since Muslims wear jeans and I don't know why this should be an issue.. like okay yea she could have worn a shalwar etc. but she didn;t.. so what? No point arguing about it.

And.. Yea they have failed protraying Muslim background properly...& Showing a Muslim background does not mean showing them praying 24/7.. UHM showing a show with a background from a particular religion should show points from a religion, like I am not saying the show should be 100% Islamic or show them praying etc 24/7. No. I don't say that. What I meant was they should atleast show things that are from Islam if they are going to show a Muslim Background. Thats why I say they failed to portraying a Muslim background properly.

Also.. the post maker stated their opinion.. I don't think they were bashing anyone or spreading negativity. They stated their opinion. If you don't like it you can't label it negativity. Learn to bear peoples opinions ya know.

But I won't go on to say that what I'm doing is right because it may not be the case. Jeans (esp skinnies) and clothes as such DO outline our figure and this kind of attire is not allowed by Islam, as far as I know. However, just like your clothes don't define your character, they don't define your prayers either. There are many things to be considered during namaaz and clothes are just ONE of them- wearing jeans will not mean that your prayers are not accepted.

With all due respect, your post is offensive in many ways.

a) Our Islamic rules do NOT change with time. The basis, as laid by our Holy Quran, remains the same. For instance, just because wearing skinny jeans is a norm nowadays doesn't mean it will be accepted by Islam- at the end of the day, it exposes and outlines our figure. Nonetheless, these restrictions do not mean that Islam hinders our progression in the world, not at all!

b) Everyone can question their religious rules and regulations, of course. But I can say with full pride that our Holy Propher (P.B.U.H.) has explained the reasons for the rules which were laid down and even now, Islamic scholars are there to answer our queries. Many 'gender discrimantory' rules have concrete reasons behind them.

c) Oh, you will be surprised to see how wrongly many aspects of Islam have been shown in QH. But since it never promised to preach Islam or any religion, I won't object to that. But believe me, all the mazaars and taweez and many other stuff shown is NOT in our religion.

Having said that, I'm not a perfect Muslim either, but just cause Muslims round the world do wrong things doesn't mean they become right in the light of Islam. So yes, you can attack US for stuff we do wrong, but please do not attack our religion.

Thank you.

THANK YOU FOR THIS :) PERFECTLY WRITTEN. FINALLY LOLLL :) xoxo

I am glad I don't respect people who use religion as a tool for oppression of women be it hindus or muslims. Also you need not worry about my future, its quite safe and secure. Thankfully I have not lapsed into middle ages. Instead of making a post about Zoya's wonderful dialogue about allah in the previous episode you guys feel its okay to judge women based on clothing. I feel sorry for you that you actually think that alah would even consider such a petty thing such as clothing rather than the prayer itself.

Oh God, The narrow mindness of this is grating my nerves...Seriously you made one single conclusion that wearing jeans during prayers makes you a bad Muslim & how Gul should have done her research correctly...

Girly get to reality, Muslim People wear jeans all the time and all over the place...As far as I know wearing jeans in Namaz is not Haram and many people do it...so please dont make out that Zoya has to be the epitome of the Muslim Girl just beause she is from a Muslim Background...

Dont forget that she is from the States where people usually dont wear salwar Kameez...

Anyways my motive is not to offend Muslims but all religions are open to interpretations and questioning. So if anyone is free to pass judgements based on clothing , then others are free to question the misogynistic aspects of religion which may not even be actually true. Any social evil based on religion is open to questioning be it Sati, purdah system, sharia law that actually considers the rape victim responsible for rape and sentences her to adultery. Keep in mind I am not insulting Alah , only questioning deep rooted misogyny in religion. I have full faith in God be it Allah, Jesus or Krishna and doubt that any God encourages a social discrimination based on gender .

Uhm... firstly It is Allah ** and secondly. It does NOT state anywhere that in the "Sharia Law" the rape victim is responsible for the rape. Get your facts straight. You sound like a person who bases opinions on things based on media and stuff you heard. Also, I did not say any Religion encourages social discrimintion. If treating Women like a Gem in Islam is considered Social Discrimination.. then I don't know what to say anymore to people.

LMAO you are feeling sorry for me? LOOOL puh-lease cutie. Don't even go there. I can read and interpret information and not make up my own things and post things without reading them.

SO before being such a rude thing.. learn to go read properly and then try to post properly.

Im sorry, but i happen to have this argument almost all the times..whether its with my brother-in-law or complete strangers..Let me start! What the hell are you talking about. Give me an Ayat in the Quran Shareef that says jeans are not allowed while performing prayer!
I am not no extreme pious person, actually i consider myself far away from that yet i still do what every ordinary muslim should do.
Let me get this clear to you and everyone else that is reading this.
All of Zoya's clothing are modest. Actually she is more modest that those salwar dresses the girls wear.
Does Zoya have backout?No
Does she have sleeveless?No
She wear full sleeves all the time and she is completely covered
Yes, agreed that her clothing are body fitted and all. But she is still covered fully and all her clothing look modest and not vulgar.
Another thing, i think its your thinking or maybe your cultural thoughts. Islam was not brought about from India or by cultural or ethnic wear. It is told throughout, all other Women should wear women clothes(in the serial she wear female jeans and female tops) and her clothing should be modest i.e. Fully covered!!
She can pray salaat in what is known as fully covered!
