While a pair of jeans is perfectly nice to wear any day, i expect the makers of QH to know that Salaat (or namaz) the muslim prayer, cannot be performed while wearing jeans. its not allowed. its not a question of indecency or modernity or being liberal but it is a question of following some basic islamic rules.

do the makers want us to believe that zoya owns nothing except that pair of blue jeans??? im sure she can afford a salwar suit set, and look just as smart in it 😊

no islamic rules have been written in modern era. but yes, any kind of western wear or any kind of boys' clothing (like shirts) is not to be worn by women during prayers. this is because certain dresses clearly show the outline of a person's body and women in islam have been told to wear loose clothes that do not reveal figures.

What about in cultures where shalwar kameez do not exist and the most common form of wear is trousers? If I remember correctly Zoya was wearing a long top which went up to her or just above her knees...any kameez would be of the same length on top of a shalwar so what would the difference be. I think she was modestly dressed to perform her salah.

I don't mean to be rude or offensive. I agree with ur original post about her having more than just blue jeans to wear but do not agree with your comment on what she was wearing whilst praying.

I read namaz in jeans sometimes...I don't find any problem in it, except that it kind of gets a bit difficult sometimes. When I'm in university or at work, I can't go home to change so that I can pray my namaz. I believe that religion should not be made more difficult than what it is. As long as you are covered and wearing decent clothes, I don't find any problems in it. Besides, shalwar kameez is decent according to our culture, but if you go to arab countries like Saudi Arabia...they find it indecent! So, the thing is that everyone has different views about it. Neeyat is what matters, and Allah knows what is going on in our hearts...

Actually I pray namaz in jeans quite often as well, but I do also know that I shouldn't. Because it is indeed true that clothes worn especially during prayer should be loose-fitting and not reveal your figure in any way. I guess we shouldn't take Zoya as an example of a perfect Muslim that's all. It's hard to be perfect anyway.

Zoya left everything and came. Don't go into the technicalities of how she's managing with only one or how they couldn't give her another.
The point of her wearing jeans was only for Tanveer to know she's there. There is nothing else that stands out.
No offence to any religion.

I don't pray with jeans but I don't think it's wrong to pray with jeans if your shirt is long enough . I mean Zoya was wearing jeans but her top was to her knees so there was nothing revealing or showing her figure. It depends on the clothes she could have worn a very long skirt but it could have been tight showing the figure of her body and the top would be to her waist wouldn't have that been wrong??? so it depends on the clothes and how you wear it. You can make something look decent or not decent. But you are right when we pray we have to be careful in what we wear

but at the end this serial is not a Islamic show
there are many things that are not ok in Islam and they are showing it
so I think people shouldn't believe everything they see

I think you can perform your saalat in any loose clothes (shorts are not allowed). I live in Canada and I wear jeans. If I am not allowed to wear jeans for my saalat then I have to miss it while I am at university or work place. Allah wants you to perform saalat at any cost. You just have to be completely covered!
