Let bygones be bygones my friend, as I say that was an entirely different situation.

I think you are being too hard on her. I was appalled when he slapped her just like everyone else and I was appalled when she forgave him so easily too. Keep in mind this is a daily soap and the characters are not consistent. If you look at every episode as a microcosm in itself, its an improvement. She stood up for herself and told him to eff off. I wanted to say, you go girl. Every small step is a step in the right direction. So, I think if I put it in perspective, for me it was a win.

Honestly, Asad's inconsistency annoys me more. Who gives a girl a sari with a backless blouse and then complains about her skirt? I mean, neither are within the boundaries of dressing conservatively, to be honest. Besides, he doesn't mind cozying up to her in public (dancing in front of his mom, sis and dance teacher) and then complains about her lack of tehzeeb. Bleh.

For me, the writing on these shows is always inconsistent just because of the nature of the beast. If I keep that in mind, I liked what I saw today. It was progress.

If the writers were to portray Zoya as a strong, confident liberal woman, they should have shown this side to Zoya too, when that slap took place.Wearing a short skirt does not represent a liberal western woman but is indeed a cliche/stereotype...this is a misrepresentation of Asian western woman, as not all liberal minded western woman would dress in short skirts but their are other numerous styles of clothing that us western women do wear other than just short skirts and jeans. How about a long skirt for starters, maxi dresses, pedal pushers, blazers, waist high trousers,jumpsuits...etc,etc...the lsit is endless...maybe some research should go into what western/Asian women really do wear.
It would hve been nice to see zoya stand up against physical abuse and voice her opinion back then, like she is now!

Despite what Asad says Zoya has tazeeb and adab -

Note that whenever Asad shouts at her in front of other people she never shouts back at him - she tries to reason but Asad has previously always been too mad to listen or look at her point of view due to his own hang ups (this week when Zoya was pulling Tannu's burnt skin we saw that this is changing and credit goes to Dilshad) .The same way even today when Dilshad was there Zoya was mute and giving her MIL a helpless look.

However if you note every time he has shouted at her when it's just the 2 of them - she has given it back to him -their first meetings, the episode with house rules, the meteorite shower night, after mangalpur when she makes paste for his hand. So today it was the same - she gave it to him in private plus i think she was really hurt for she is trying so hard to get his approval to say everything is real and not nakli - instead he said the opposite - even i did not realize how much she is trying to mould herself into the kind of girl he likes and i have watched the episodes sooo many times .

This is what Dilshad means when she says Zoya is very "samajdar". Appi and Jiju have raised her well!

strangely I was thinking it's no different than if my bro pisses me off at my uncles - i wait till we are in the car or alone and take it up with him or if i get pissed at my significant other we don't argue in front of everyone and air our dirty laundry for all to see - we do it in private coz despite all the differences we respect each other!

Now to the matter of Zoya not giving it to him when he slapped her is coz

1) She felt responsible for Dilshad being shot - Marium was in the city coz Zoya helped her

2) She was just as worried sick abt Dilshad as Asad was

3) She went to Asad to comfort him and if lashing out at her and blaming her helped him cope she took it silently - we can see from other cases too she will do anything for Asad

4) As my mom always advises that when someone screams at u and even if u scream back louder u will not have much impact or get ur point across to that angry / hurt person - u might feel better but the communication gap will be there regardless. however if u wait and later when the person has calmed down and talk it out rationally / reasonably when neither person it hyper or super sensitive you get the matter resolved much better - that's exactly what happened between Asad and Zoya when he took the black bitter coffee out to her

i think dt time she was too shocked to react
may be seeing dilshaad on death bed n asad crying
for his mother didnt let her react dt time as she herself
was shocked firstly cause of dilshaad nd secondly she saw
asad like this for d first time n may b d last time.
coming to d dress i have a bit different view all together
i am happy infact very happy dt they are showing this dress thing
cos in india definately many male guys judge girls based on clothes
ny mischap happens they blame d girls dressing style
"kapde pehne hain character nahiin" line was quite apt. yes i agree d lenighth of the dress was too short but then its ok i can ignore the negative thinking n look at d positive side dt surbhi did look beautiful in it.
but having said dt from past seven months QH is just concentrating
on dress (traditional dress vs modern dress) i agree dress s a major thing dt needs to be changed but then there r other things too like many villages in india dont send their daughter for education, child marriage gul showed dt mariam case dts one aspect other is child marriage, ppl changing their identity for marrying twice etc. from so many months she is just concentrating on dress i am not saying its bad but she is neglecting other things dt happens with girls esp n indian society. all she is doing is dragging billi track unnecesarily but yeah i am glad finally d story is moving ahead.

So what exactly do you want us to say?? Everything we say are excuses and everything you said is right?

That's an excuse - things are not different - the writers think it is OK for a woman to be slapped and her to remains silent because that's what women are suppsoed to do. Progression is only seen in wearing a micromini not standing up to abuse.

yuh know, like ur soo right 👏
