Sorry but I am bewildered. Zoya stands up for wearing a micromini but she cannot stand up when she's being slapped. Hello? How is this supposed to be progessive or the sign of a confident woman? Total joke. It's pathetic.

Yeah agreed! Find it kind of strange that she's so full of guts now, but had none at that time. She stood up for herself today because she believed she had done nothing wrong right? Well she KNEW she hadn't done anything wrong at the time of the slap, yet she couldn't be bothered to stand up for herself then. Strange, very strange.

That's an excuse - things are not different - the writers think it is OK for a woman to be slapped and her to remains silent because that's what women are suppsoed to do. Progression is only seen in wearing a micromini not standing up to abuse.

Maybe Zoya felt responsible for Dilshad getting shot. And had no fire to fight back. And things have changed anyhow sooo.

situation was different, Dilshaad was dying, and Zoya did feel bad coz she also thought that Mariam had something to do with the shooting

The slap then was an outburst of Asad'd love for his mom

She didn't stand up for herself that time because Dilshaad was between life and death...it was no time to be standoffish...woh mauka sahi nahi tha...and yes...that slap is something which can't be forgotten...till date i cannot accept that scene..it was so not cool

She felt guilty that time and despite Dilshad's condition not being her fault. But then she has always argued and reasoned with Asad and clearly knows how stubborn he is and tries to deal with it. But then everyone has a limit.

I think why she didn't speak up then was because she could only imagine ( not even understand ) what Asad must be going through, and that itself was a horrible picture. She wasn't okay with it then and she isn't okay with it now, but there are times when people let such things go.
Today she said something along these lines : "Aap ko khali logo ke kapdo se matlab hai". The slap thing was a very emotional, intense sort of...incident. I'm not justifying it, but in comparison, the skirt thing seems much more shallow and inane. And i think that's what Zoya meant today ( the shallow part )

What i don't understand is, why is this becoming a matter of female liberties or respect. I understand the difference between a male and a female getting slapped ( by a male ) and its connotations for society.

But " the writers think it is OK for a woman to be slapped and her to remains silent because that's what women are suppsoed to do " How does this come in the scene? I mean, had I been a guy, I would be equally aghast/shocked/outrageous had I been slapped due to no fault of my own. Or if i was understanding, then i would be equally understanding. How does any of this imply that she suffered all of that because of her gender,

Okay, now i realise that the last para sounds a bit offensive, but i've never really been very eloquent, sooo...sorry about that 😛
Just curious
