KaJen, thank you for understanding this post! I appears to be making those who cannot stand me on the forum happy today. 😆 Hell must have frozen over. I do not want the show to be preachy preachy, or have the show turn into some super orthodox version of QH, but seriously, if this is supposed to be a Muslim family, you could never tell.

And i am glad you like the scene. The fact the writers and i see the ph do not know about islam or what muslims do beyond visiting a daargh or go to ajmeer is the reason they cannot give us the these scenes. since no research is done and there are no consultants for the show, then the show doesn't serve any other purpose other than to 'entertain.' i like that we have modern muslims - albeit the ridiculous skirt scene - but it would not hurt to show even a person say bismillah.

i mean daadi has been seen praying one time! old people are praying non-stop.

I was about to write that this is the 2nd post in a row by you that I've liked😆.
And No even am not the one for those preachy tales but just the fact that they are going in circles all over makes me feel . I mean seriously the amount of dances AsYa have done, they can surely participate in some dance competition😆 Also those gifts..Allah! That guy gives so many gifts..TBH I really want Akdu Ahmed Khan back..this cute puppy love wala Asad is not my cup of tea but of course to each his own😊
The only thing Muslim about this show is their names..It was an opportunity for them to come up with something totally new..but now its like Geet and IPK all over again with slight changes..One being the religion!

So according to you QH should not show an religious behavior or celebration? Your post arguing that it was not done in chak de, is saying that since the film is about Indian people who just happen to be Muslim, it does not warrant it? Right.[B]pkab had it because there was a character who was Muslim. PR? Did we have any of the lead characters attending a Ramzaan dinner or visiting a family wishing the Eid Mubarak?

i never say qubool hai should not show any religious festival, celebration.

sure they will show festival, celebration as a part of indian daily life.
i told you in my 1st post you should not be surprised if we see qubool hai eid mahaepisode with other zee actor.
but religion is not the theme of qh.
ramadan is still one month away and eid two month.
so lets wait and see before giving any final judgement.

After manav archana reunion in nov 2010.
manav gets works from an indian muslim garrage owner.

see i myself an indian muslim but you have to understand qh is not a muslim drama for worldwide muslim population.
qh is an indian family drama where an indian muslim represent the indian family and its mainly made for indian auidance.

Indian muslim youth besides a muslim identity also wants a common indian youth life identity today.

so in qh i think there will be zoya in prayer, asad in prayer, going dargah, reading holy quran, celebration of festival but there will also be indian daily life issue which an indian muslim familly face everyday as a common indian familly.

I actually agree with you! Even though I am not a Muslim, I also wouldn't mind seeing more about the Islamic religion and culture...you know thats one of the pulling factors of QH, it is different as unlike other shows it is based on a Muslim-family and for me I think I would like to see and learn more about Muslin beliefs and culture for sure. I hope they do show Ramadan properly because without that the show will also seem very unrealistic. Although I have my own opinions about religion and what it says about short skirts and drinking and other things, I do agree that there are some beliefs and values that are fundamental to almost every religion and to humanity so yes I also wish the PH would incorporate perhaps some meaningful lines from the Quran to make a point.

The show is not about Islam per se, but they do need to pay attention since the characters are Muslim, it is wise to keep at least culturally, a Muslim background. I do not feel the need Islam needs to be introduced or discussed, but in fairness with other shows it would not kill the production team to at least show that someone goes to the mosque, says "inshallah" or "bismillah" or even says a dua when they are struggling with a problem.

Let us say we have the Tanveer track; why not show Zoya making a dua for Asad's welfare? Wouldn't kill them to show that would it? We would have every other character on every show where the characters are Hindu do this, but not Zoya? How come? I don't mean to make this a religious show, but come on, we have one show about Muslims and so far I really don't see anything that defines these people as Muslim other than their names and those names are so ancient that only 60 year old women have them. That goes to show how little work was done in grasping modern day Muslims.

Agreed. I understand this show isn't Islam per se, but it would be nice to add something once in a while. All of the other shows I have seen are Hindu based, and I have learned about Hinduism. True we don't watch shows to see if they are portraying the religion correctly because many shows are not centered around the religion. I think it would be nice to mention it only because the show is labelled as Muslim based. And yes just giving the characters Muslim names doesn't mean anything.

But I would like to see some mention of a modern Muslim, modern in the sense of how they are living in current times with their religion. Not modern as in one who follows Islam but doesn't really, I will not get into this because at the end of the day this is just a show and no point in arguing.

Thanks guys for liking the post. I personally feel as off today, the writers should not even attempt to embark on any thing pertianing to Islam and Muslims and have all the characters convert to another faith or lack thereof and to one with which they are more familiar and comfortable. A mass conversion is in order for the Khans, Farooquis and the Siddiquis 😆
