Such a bang on post! You actually wrote everything what I was thinking all the time.. some times I even lost interest in this show because of these points. They should show something related to Islam.. they always show Asad being chauvinistic, mariam getting forcefully married, they are always up for a Dargah trip which is so forbidden in Islam. Their is more to this religion than they what actually show. I doubt they will show anything related to Ramzan. One day they will just wake up and say that today is eid 😳

Brilliant post :) I second your thoughts completely. QH was promoted as a muslim social. One of the two USPs as mentioned by KSG in the Press launch was it being a Muslim show. The mention of muslim culture was very much evident since the beginning. But sadly the PH has forgotten that they were supposed to make a family drama about two families who are connected by blood and yet lead a life separate from each other. It was never a love story atleast that's what I could decipher from the initial promos and was more or less a different tale from what is being shown to us now.

But Frankly, I understand that TV people change tracks instantly as per people's demand and liking but what I fail to understand is how they never acknowledge the religious beliefs that these families supposedly had/should have. As u said they have never acknowledged God's presence as such except a few times that too were in the beginning.
Also,I really liked the Rashid and Asad scenario that you presented that would be one good thing to see; something that would tantamount to required growth in the original plot. Ramzan is an important event that Muslims all around the world follow and if they don't follow that then it would one big flaw in their tale,Not that there are any less flaws but this one would be a major flaw by the PH.
All said and done. I feel one should shut their brains for those 30 minutes while watching the show coz logic ki vaat hai sab jagah :P

KaJen, thank you for understanding this post! I appears to be making those who cannot stand me on the forum happy today. 😆 Hell must have frozen over. I do not want the show to be preachy preachy, or have the show turn into some super orthodox version of QH, but seriously, if this is supposed to be a Muslim family, you could never tell.

And i am glad you like the scene. The fact the writers and i see the ph do not know about islam or what muslims do beyond visiting a daargh or go to ajmeer is the reason they cannot give us the these scenes. since no research is done and there are no consultants for the show, then the show doesn't serve any other purpose other than to 'entertain.' i like that we have modern muslims - albeit the ridiculous skirt scene - but it would not hurt to show even a person say bismillah.

i mean daadi has been seen praying one time! old people are praying non-stop.

Agree... Though i am Hindu, i completely agree with you... In Hindu serials, they often show leads praying, having pooja etc...
But in QH they don't show such things... From what i have seen from my Muslim friends, they strictly follow their religion,... Even when my Muslim friends are in lecture, they ask teacher to leave them for 15mins just to pray namaz... But in QH, they don't show anything.. Instead they show totally opposite..

thanks for liking the original post, but i have to say, the reason i did not click for yours is I do not welcome any post on the thread that is going to make such comments about what is or is not forbidden or permissible in Islam. I don't go to Dargah, but I would never insult another Muslim who did by coming here and telling them what is or not explicitly permissible. If they want to go and it is permissible for them, respect it. I would appreciate it if you and others would please refrain from making such blanket statements as this will result in the closure of this thread and the dialogue going in the wrong direction. thank you.

in terms of the show, yes, is is very possible that ramazan may be ignored all together. and yes, there is more to islam than just visits to the dargah. some of us actually go to the mosque - not often, but we do. 😊

I do not think they need to show them praying in every episode, but the number of times in proportion to other shows is amazingly minimal.

Oh my God, thank you so much for this post!🤗

Actually, to be very honest, I was thinking the same for the past few days especially about the whole religion thing and all.
Qubool Hai is definitely one of its kind, the main reason for it being a show with a Muslim background. Lekin, we hardly get to see scenes which has to do with the religious things and all. Exactly like you mentioned. Most of the show are about Hindu religions and we often get to see all the rituals like praying to Bhagwan, mandir and much more.
I do not have anything against any religion and have great respect for any kind of religion.
But yes, why do we not get to see the characters of QH praying frequently or do something else related to the Islam? It is somehow disappointing to see that the PH does not pay too much attention to it. It would enhance the feeling of the show, since they stated QH to be very different and all.

I do hope they keep in mind that the holy month of Ramazan is coming up. Of course we understand that it is not possible to fully implement the Ramazan in the show, but at least acknowledge it and try to find a way to include in the show. Hopefully, they will also celebrate EID in a big way just to show that even if QH is a minority in its religion background, that does not have to mean they cannot celebrate a beautiful religious day like EID. We have seen a lot of special episodes during Diwali, Holi and perhaps other important religious days, so why not EID right?

Thanks I like your comments. I agree, they don't have to even go overboard, but the acknowledgment is important, but I would at least want to see it mentioned at least once a week as Ramazan is at least one month long and it would be interesting to see how they would integrate it into the story line.

I honestly feel the same way at times in light of the nonsense with mini skirt. and the shirt tucked in the jeans for the quran khanni and the promotion of slapping as acceptable, I don't know if they should even touch on such a complex subject as Ramzaan. If they cannot show culturally how Muslims behave and dress, how they heck will they know how Muslims fast etc?

Isn't it a discussion forum? 😊
I haven't insulted people who go to Dargah, I just said that they mostly show all that which is forbidden, they don't show what actually Islam is..what was so wrong in this?
It was a clear statement.. I didn't abused anyone, or said that people shouldn't go, I just meant that its not a part of Islam. And if you are opening a thread you should welcome all kind of views.
Sorry if it offended you but I just wrote what I felt shouldn't be highlighted in this show.

A discussion forum yes, but you made a statement about what is forbidden for you. For some Muslims this is fine. Do I visit, no. And I have my reasons but I would not come here to tell people what is or is not forbidden and this is not the purpose of this discussion thread and I do not wish for it to move in that direction as it will upset others and result in the subject being diverted and the thread shutting down. So please remain focused and use your words wisely.
Thank you.
