yup totally with u on this girl!!
Forget 19th century. Jane Bennett was so 19th century and she definitely did not put up with such shit. 👏
It is just not the era it is the attitude that it is so totally like a won to forgive and forget the minute he says I love u and fusses over u .
The attitude of a meek woman waiting for her man to notice her and sower her with love is so nauseating when I see on TV.
I am married .. I will do a lot for my man ... but tolerate such words and turn the other cheek ... sorry I will let him have it.
If the girl cant stand up for herself and love herself then no one will really will.
and shows promoting this same notion of sickly M& B romance... uhhh.😡

See the point is the generation and age we're all living in now, has woman taking precedence over men. Yes there is crime, (read : rapes assaults and many other horrendous issues happening as well) but at the same time girls of this day and age are all extremely independent, all working, making a career to be secure in life so they don't have to be looked down upon and can proudly live a life without any man as well 😆 I honestly do not think we girls will watch a show and go do what a Zoya/Khushi or any other fictional character would do. I mean we're not here to pick up a leaf from the stories of Indian soaps. I am sure we take Indian shows as seriously as we would with any comedy stage show. Because that is what they all are, 'entertainment' mediums.

Redemption is apologizing of course but its also not committing those mistakes again. This is a QH forum but I am just going to mention IPK in two lines so excuse me. Though we feel that the redemption period of Arnav was very little, but a sorry said once or said hundred times should mean real whenever said. Arnav meant it when he said it, but before saying that sorry and after saying it, he protected Khushi, her respect, her families respect and honor. And never again did he mistrust her. For me redemption is not about saying the sorry, its about feeling it.

This is a show, and its got a story, its got characters and they're going to make the story revolve around what the character is. The character will commit mistakes, fail and falter but eventually the story has to come around to balance it with the right too, because the audience likes to see the good win over the bad, its a normal cycle of life. They watch the show for a love story, an arrogant man, an extremely angelic, calm and beautiful girl, both opposites but yet come at a point where they realize they are soul mates, there is lack of trust.. misunderstandings, there is a separation, some pain, some romance but then the mistakes are realized, relation evolves, they come to a certain half way where they can live a peaceful life without poking at the others opinion which they may not agree with and its happily ever after, that is all the viewer wants, and as long as that is on the screen, I think it works the best for them lol. And the audience watches any entertainment to see fiction, they have enough reality to face in their own lives to look into a daily soap with so much seriousness as to be so highly affected. I am sure the audience of this show does not consist of kids, and the audience that this show comprises of has it in them to watch it and switch off from it at 10 😛

@bold - I think they would. That's why twilight received such negative reviews. Because things like that, books, media and TV influence people's thinking. The first thing people say about twilight is it's a bad influence on teenagers. Another thing, teenage girls wanted to be vampires. There was a sick post on someone trying to be a vampire some time back. Google it.

Re Arnav, I stopped watching it. But what Asad is doing is saying sorry, then repeating the same mistake! He just NEVER listens to her. So any redemption here? I don't think so.

Its each to his own, for the makers at least this is a work of fiction and not a moral lecture class. Its about two people, their different behavior and life and that is all.

And regarding Asad, has the show got over yet? Its on its way right? Plus not like these guys have been a couple since years, they met months ago, but have found feelings for each other just now, they don't even have a relationship as yet, so to work on all these things, there is a long time to go :)

But this is not necessarily a new phenomenon is it. Started with Swabhimaan, carried on with Banegi Apni Baat and finally we got Ekta Kapoor who made a million bucks just out of protagonists who arm-twist (literally) their supposed loves. And in all these serials were women who carried on being in love despite the idiosyncrasies.

Gul is just capitalizing on it. But she atleast tries to weave a story around, that being the only saving grace.

I never take these stories for its face value and never will be a believer but I have a flaw too. I love drama 😳 And one more thing, I do not even remember when I was a teenager anymore 😆

No.. it's not a moral lecture class. But keeping these things in mind, that audience is easily influenced, shouldn't they be careful about what they portray?

And I know it's been a few months. But what's the point of saying sorry when he keeps making the same mistakes again? Does he actually then mean it? I don't think so. And saying sorry doesn't always erase the pain you once caused. Plus, back to my original point, because audience is influenced (though I get it that you don't agree with me here) they'll think it's alright to let a guy treat them like this, because like Asad and Zoya, things will get better. They won't. The real 'Asad' will just continue walking all over them.

Oh.. and interesting point to add.. someone just told me..

there are so many ppl on the forum that are like "oh I went for a haircut and i wanted the one zoya has, and when i explained it to the hairstylist ... even he knew zoya" or like "i went to buy a dress like zoya and even the shopkeeper knew her" like these are such superficial things but they are great indicators of the psychological impacts of the show.

so it does influence the audience to a great extent

Oh... don't get me started on Ekta shows..!! 😆 The only one I watched and loved was Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil.. as far as I remember.. Prem was a sweetheart in that.. And to be honest..apart from that, the only shows I followed on a daily basis was DMG and now QH. Though I'm starting to regret the latter.

Aww no cause to regret. I am sure people will turn out ok. Our upbringing plays a major role too and I think the parents around are very very capable. Bad serials or bad books will cause no harm 😊

We can agree to disagree, because honestly I really do not think there are girls of our age or some much more older watching daily soaps for learning or being influenced. Plus this is like the billionth show on tv and there are various characters in them all, but does not mean each of them are here to teach us anything, not the shows not the characters. I think these shows are entertainment, and every little thing does not mean to give us a lesson for life.

If misunderstandings are solved, Asad changes overnight, his character is bend to please the forum complaining of Asad being an MCP LOL and Zoya is made hard to him, leaves him and goes and never comes back ( like in your OS ) and the story halts at that, with nothing left to show and the audience won't watch it, the trp drops, and there is the answer to what the audience wants, "entertainment" not lessons.

Bravo! I'm so delighted to read this coz I second u totally! For the starters I'm not a 4 lions fan..seeing women get treated like trash is not my idea od entertainment which is unfortunately has been a part of all three popular shows of 4lions...Heard MB is following the same thing? Is the idea of having an abusive hero and a strong yet "blinded in love" heroine the best one to garner TRPs? I hope not! As much as i hate DABH..I'm glad that it atleast portrays women in
a better light than this newage hit formula ones.

Am not aganist QH but the idea of having such a guy in my own life scares the shit outta me..Redemption is one thing that has never been show and I'm sure it won't be either since its the male we are talking about..Males are superior and we women are supposed to worship them *rolls eyes*

I don't have problems with angry young men like Asad,Arnav or Maan but the problem lies in their attitude which never changed..Love is one thing but woman can't be shown as the weaker and becharrii party all coz of love..Not only its disturbing but impressions that it leaves on the viewers especially girls leaves me baffled..seeing the trend picking up similar ideas makes me sad and scared at the same time. :|
