The strong and silent one...

It's there in every shot, in every breath, in every glimpse and glance. If not in front of our eyes, then at the back of our minds. It's all encompassing, ever present. The strong yet silent spectator to it all. The saga of Rangrasiya cannot be imagined without it. To me, it speaks volumes. Tells the tale. Carries the puppets on its massive shoulders. Yet has the sense and sensibility to blend in the background.
The Desert .
Vast, bleak and unrelenting. Barren to the core. Seemingly lifeless. The harsh emptiness that is reflected in Rudra's savage eyes. It's not easy to survive this wasteland, and only a few tough ones manage to traverse and master this never ending sandy horizon. Rudra and the desert seem to be one. Quiet, strong, ruthless, yet beautiful. A quirk of nature. Both seemingly dry and unrelenting on the surface. With secrets buried deep in the gritty grains of time. Both the man and the landscape complete each other. Can't take Rudra out of the desert and neither can we take the desert out of Rudra's soul.
Or is it the one that is reflected in Paro's innocent heart. The emptiness and loneliness, the vacuum created by her early loss. Bereft and bereaved, shedding dry, invisible tears. Waiting for a drop of love, hope. Secretly and fervently yet unknowingly waiting for some relief, some rain in her abrasive life. The desert is her love. The sands, a witness to her guileless simple dreams. The sands that she runs over, glides over effortlessly in pursuit of her soul mate. This very silent friend will cushion her fall too, will try and absorb her hot tears and eventually try to heal the wounds inflected by the sands of time and circumstance.
Or is it in the cruel stature of Thakur Singh. As heartless and as cruel as the hot sands can be at times. Selfish and uncaring to the core. Engulfing everything it touches. Life taking and suffocating.
This majestic creation of nature lends a unique backdrop to a heart wrenching tale. It's an integral part of this saga. In every frame, always present at the back of our minds and hearts, a representative of all that's wrong and all that will be put to right. An antithesis, as gentle as it is cruel, as life sustaining as it is lifeless, as welcoming as its forbidding. Rangrasiya and The Desert.

As usual a superb post, oh my ...the way u have compared the sand to each of the characters & their lives ...beautiful. It really does play a very integral part in connecting to and understanding the characters. It gives them a lot more depth.

Great post eve...👏

I remember the Promos of Rangrasiya on indian radio channels were on these exact lines. It went something like...
Rann ki reth jaise sookhe Rudra ke dil mein kya khilla payegi paaro mohabbat ke rang.

when i saw the show and rudra's character was introduced i immediately knew what the promos were all about...Rudra's past has forced him to become an arid, harsh, empty, heartless and dangerous...just like the desert...
Paro...for Rudra...she'll be just like the rains the desert thirsts for in the summer...

Can't believe this surprise!! ...Just glad you liked what I wrote, the barren landscape appeals to me, seems such a perfect backdrop for all the characters and the story, can't imagine this happening anywhere else ...and now I don't wanna lose you again so, chand ki tarah nahin..taaron ki tarah nazar aana Tongue

Oh...I am not based in India, so didn't have a clue. But seems like we had similar ideas 😆
As I said for me the man and the landscape are one. It is barren yet beautiful. Arid yet attractive. Somehow whatever I say about the desert seems to apply to the man too and vice versa :)

Amazing take! That is perhaps one of the most eloquently written analysis on how integral the desert is to this story! The 3 analogies-brilliant! Posts like yours, I believe, are a part of the Rangrasiya experience, in fact, they enhance the experience of watching this show!

Very nice, the landscape is definitely another character in this saga.
