I agree to equality means balance to even.at the end of the day.or week..ashlok POV.

Home is woman and maker is man,,can be reversed too..as home maker..in one..
Exactly..honour or sanmaan..shlok gave it in different way Aastha sensed it..or felt or her principles..made her say the husband honour in front of wife..giving priority..in public..as men ego hurts easily.,ang graha man reforms more..same way shlok by ritual way for survival of path did it..natures choice..next also nature choice of thorn sting..of real survival of his selfish ness..acted and agreed to villagers who are three wise men..kinda felt Trimurti..or dattaterya(Trimurti)who said to worship women
And led to temple ..and from precap he has thilak so might say he offered prayers by self acceptance..a guess..but the medicine applying care and concern are not true..so some part of men and some part of women.dialy nok Jhok can be silly.serious.or even..
Life partner partnership thrills I say joy or sarrow..

(A house becomes HOME because of the WOMAN (wife) occupying it)

Naturally, the women had complete authority over the management of the household as well. The modern word of "Home-Maker"
MAN's life is not complete until he gets a wife and lives happily by treating and respecting her as his equal, nay, his other-half.The couple in their wisdom, called that most important concept of "FAMILY" as a chariot and equated MAN & WOMAN as its two wheels.
Therefore, the WOMEN due to their inherent biological nature, weaker physical structure than men and child-bearing ability were trained and encouraged to get education in the art of HOME MANAGEMENT or SOFTER PURSUITS (As I had said this was not a rule but was a COMMON WISDOM of the era considering WOMAN's physical / biological structure.). The ultimate objective was always to create HAPPY FAMILY and ultimately a VIBRANT CHARACTER ORIENTED SOCIETY.
As can be seen, in VEDIC India WOMEN held special status and respect in the society. The ancient VEDIC society envisioned WOMEN as a free-spirited individuals and as NOT merely sexual objects. They knew how to balance freedom against the natural biological boundaries drawn by the nature for MEN & WOMEN. They also knew if this fine balance was not maintained how adversely it may impact the society with ill effects.
Similarly WOMEN were treated as noble, holy, respectable individuals and equal-half of MEN . Further women were looked upon as MOTHERS, SISTERS and HOME-MAKERS guiding and contributing in training of their young off-springs into becoming responsible, character-based citizens of tomorrow's society.

Nice Post

You are correct in telling

both have different responsibilities to run the house correctly. Doing the job in balance is more important.

Sometimes husband should be given priority and sometimes the wife

Madhu - lovely post
you know, i think the whole idea of the Cvs taking us to this remote village in or near the jungle to tells us about the practice of shakthi pujan is exactly this concept of Vedic society or old Vedic India where women held special status and respect in society -
vedic times were presumbly small societies / villages and women were treated as individuals and there was freedom - and as mentioned i believe in vedic texts, lot of equality -
in fact, shakthi is the first power that hindu society has worshipped from times immemorial followed by shiva or the phallic symbol and then nature - all the things of nature were worshipped -
unfortunately as societies and villages became bigger and kingdoms grew, men became powerful and aggressive towards women dictated by lust - mahabharatha shows that more than anything else in our history/mythology - so women, for all convenient reasons in the subsequent
male dominated societies, started being illtreated and given inferior status in the excuse of protecting them against evil - and the story continues with minor changes and slight improvements till today -
EBp was trying to tell us that this is what it was (village societ) , and this is what we have come to
(A house and other male dominated families/groups) despite all the development and education etc ...
and that there is way and a possibility to move back to original beautiful concepts from the vedas...😊 well this is my little input to yr very beautiful analysis😊
