For a change, the caf round was arranged in the Academy gardens. Fame Kudi Shilpa invited the two contestants, Rakesh and Ritu, onto the stage. They were carried onstage in true maharaja style. Since both were receiving terrific support from their home states, Chattisghar and MP, everyone is certain the winner will be chose by a very small margin. In the solo performance round, Rakesh sang Dulhe ka sehra, but not in his natural voice. Daler was not happy with this fact and advised him to sing in his natural voice. Ganesh asked him to concentrate on his performance, which he felt was his weak point. Ritu sang Jindagi me koi kabhi, but she sang it while standing still. This complete lack of performance irritated Ganesh and he advised her to select a song on which she could perform. Daler pointed out that she was not in sur most of the time. This time even Sowmya agreed with the judge's comments and that irritated Palash. Daler only added fuel to fire when he said that Palash did not feel any pain for the way his students were singing. A visibly upset Palash immediately rebuked them by asking them how they could possibly know how much pain he was suffering. Daler apologised for the comment and the matter was sorted out. In the jugalbandi round, Rakesh sang Jan ne jan and Ritu answered with Baras ja e badal. Then Rakesh sang Badan pe sitare and Ritu sang Piya tu. It was a good round where they pitted against each other for the first time. In Mentos- Dimag ki batti jalaye round, Shilpa asked Ritu what would be one thing she would like to change about Rakesh. Ritu promptly answered that it would have to be his clothes. She would have him wear a primitive leaf-skirt! Shilpa then asked Rakesh what nicknames he would give the judges. Smartly, Rakesh bestowed the name of the famous Mughal emperor 'Akbar' to Daler paji. And then cunningly added that Ganesh would be 'Birbal'.
Both the contestants appealed earnestly to the people of India to vote for them. One of them will have to leave the Academy after eviction round on Friday.
