I know it's been so long since have been here. I have meaning to share this for quite some time now. Even though the OTT ness of some of dabh characters has been really annoying; I am finding myself liking and empathizing with Sandy's character more and more. Who hasn't seen variations of such crazy people. Definitely true for me in my workplace, you know the liars and troublemakers, etc...and I can admire much more how much it must be costing her to stay silent, maintain her own inner peace and still calmly go about her own business...taking the long, tough road,

It is so tough to listen to the day to day pettiness without wanting to scream back at them and yet when the axe finally falls, you find that the silent way was the stronger way in the long run.

p.s. Now CVs that still doesn't mean you can treat sandy as a doormat...you cant take dabhily for granted. But I like how they are showing that sometimes silence can be a sign of inner strength and brings a person greater respect in the long run.

Excellent post. Silence is no doubt golden, but I feel CVs keeping Sandhya's character patient has another reason. This is a story of clash between traditionalism and modernity. Here Bhabo represents the traditional school, while Sandhya the modern one. If they want to bring Nayi Soch that is change in the conservative mindset, then they have to keep Sandhya in the RP. Had they shown an aggressive Sandhya then neither would Suraj have supported her nor would Bhabo have kept her in the house. If she is thrown out and she pursues her dream outside how will you bring a change in a conservative mindset about emancipation of a woman through education and career. Rebels are never emulated. They are condemned and forgotten. They are here aiming to show a change from within the setup. For that Sandhya has to be shown less aggressive and more acceptable to a traditional mind. Her character has been built in such a way that the viewers start really feeling for her and her dreams. That is what to my mind the CVs are aiming. A general acceptance of a Bahu from a traditional household being allowed to pursue her dreams of a white collared job.

Exactly my point of view too Sailesh. Even if I never watch another episode, I know Sandy will always be somebody who keeps her powder dry and has that inner peace no matter what happens around her. I wish her well.

I always believe that "Peace" is the first ladder to equip yourself to face problems. Once you find the peace and the inner strength, then you can face any problem. It won't even appear as a problem for sure..

About workplace, I've also witnessed crazy people around me who play dirty/cheap politics and are ready to take advantage of your goodness. so basically it taught me to stay alert and keep eyes/ears wide open no matter wherever you're..

About Sandy, I'll agree with you.⭐️

Sandhya is fighting within society. If you are fighting within society you need to prove that you can keep all the tradional norms along with having your individuality. There is a misconception that a career woman does not care for her family. So to break this myth she has to be shown balancing both career and family. Hence for me post IPS track is very important.

Awesome post Shailesh. And wonderful replies too specially from Uma ji, Ami & Shruthi. Her silence is her strength which has helped her to sail through tough times in life. Such a silence nd tolerance is a very rare virtue found in precicious few ppl.
Even if its easy for her to ignore ppl like momly, Chavi, Meena now nd even Bhabo at times, it must have been next to impossible when she was new to RP family. All wud create problems for her nd Bhabo wud show no mercy in putting her down. It was during d SV2 track that even viewers cud nt tolerate for what Sandy was put through. It was very cruel.

But I do salute her patience nd her inner strength. It's very inspiring.

@infan you are right SV2 track was one in which her individuality shone through. Despite being trying to understand the reason behind Sooraj's change of behaviour Sandhya for once doesnt lose her individuality. She doesnt agree to husband wife relationship just to stay married. When he questions her with divorce papers, calls her evil, manipulative she not for a second try to justify her innocence. The way she takes the divorce papers from his hand and tell relationships are not built on pieces of paper, but on trust and there is no point contuining it if the trust is broken was brilliant. Again when Sooraj drags her down she remains calm, doesnt blame him, tells her brother she is leaving her marital home, calmly pacifies Chaturi and Chotu. If that was not enough though she was sad sitting in that bus, though she acknowledges she has started loving Sooraj she doesnt run behind him begging forgiveness for saving her marital life. key reason being she believes she has not done anything wrong. Again when Sooraj sees her after accident she doesnt take a single step towards him and show her feelings only after he has confessed everything to her. That is her strength. It is that strong personality that Sooraj admires and have fallen in love with. He will never be able to love her if she surrenders that personality to what Bhabo wants to make out of her. The sooner she realizes that it is better for her. She has realized it to some extent now.
This is where Sandhya wins and Emily loses. If even in the face of challenges Sandhya didnt surrender her individuality and faced with challenge Emily had surrendered all her principles as well as the individuality.
