They reached the house and Maan asked Geet to change .She went and Maan too went to wear another clothes .Geet came after change and went to kitchen to serve food.She reheat the food and served it in only one plate as she was not hungry.

She brought the food to the living room.Maan was sitting on the sofa and was watching TV.

Geet gave him the food and set near him.

Maan-Geet your food?

Geet-Maan I m not hungry I m little bit tired .

Maan-Geet thoda sa kha lo phir humen village ke school me bhi jana hai.we will get late there.

Geet-Haan to I m sleeping for some time.so that I will feel fresh at that time.

Maan-Okey you can sleep but after having some food and he took a morsel and brought it near her mouth and Geet without any fuss took that in mouth.

Maan-So you wanted to eat from my hands .arrey! pahle hi bol deti ki mere haath se khana hai

Geet-Nahin Maan I m really tired.

And after having their lunch Maan watched some news channel and made some official calls.when he finished he saw Geet sleeping on sofa in an uncomfortable position..He set by her to adjust her head in a comfortable position by putting a cushion under her head but Geet took the support of his shoulder and slept more peacefully and Maan 'seeing no option he too adjusted himself beside her and slept .

Maan opened her eyes first and found Geet still sleeping on her shoulder.he waited her to wake up.Geet too felt some movements and opened her eyes and found herself sleeping on maan's shoulder.

Geet sit properly and looked at him.He gave her a smile and asked-so you slept well

Geet-Hmmm '. and again leaned on his shoulder as she was still feeling lazy.

Maan-Geet 'It's four in the evening and we have to go to school.chalo jaldi se ready ho jaao.

Geet-Maan jana zaroori hai kya.

Maan-yes Geet .only few hours and we will be back.

Geet-Okey .I will come in few minutes

Maan and geet reached school.small children presented a little dance item to welcome them.

Sarpanch-aap logon ka swaagat hai yahaan(you are welcome )(to Geet) aap yahaan ki hone wali maalkin hain to ab aap bhi hamaare liye utni hi sammanniya hai jitna ki Maan hai(you are would be owner of this village ,spo you are as respectable for us as Maan is)

Geet-Kaka please mujhe Geet kah kar bulaaiye.jaise aap Maan ko bulaate hai.mujhe achchha lagega(please call me Geet as you call Maan by his name and I will like it)

Sarpanch smiled at it-Jiti raho beti.( Live long dear)chaliye school ka daura kar lete hain(Let's take a tour of the school)Hum log yahaan sham ko school chalaate hain.Subah sab ko bahut kaam hota hai bachche bhi apne mata pita ki madad karte hain na isliye(Wec run school in the evening as there are more work in morning here and children too help their parents in those work.)

They were walking in the ground to go to the principal's room.then they saw a little girl crying.

Geet-Maan ek minute.She went near her and asked-Kyun ro rahi ho(why are you crying?)

Girl-Mujhe bhi khelna hai par wo ladke kah rahe hai ki main nahin khel sakti unke saath(I want to play but those boys say that I can't play with them)

Geet-Kyun nahin khel sakti?

Girl-Kyunki wo cricket khel rahe hain aur kahte hain ki ye ladkiyon ke khelne ke liye nahin hai sirf ladke khel sakte hain(because they are playing cricket and they say that this game is not for girls .Only boys can play.

Geet-Achchha.aao mere saath. Tumhara naam kya hai? (to Maan) Maan just wait for me I m coming back in some time

Maan gave her a smile and nodded.

Girl-Mera naam Soni hai.

Geet-Hmm.Come soni

Sarpanch-Geet kahaan jaa rahi ho?

Geet-Kaka abhi aayi. bas thodi der.

Sarpanch-ye kya karne ja rahi hai?

Maan-Kaka aaj aapke school ke ladkn ko sabak milne wala hai(kaka today boys of your school are going to get a lesson) aayiye hum bhi chalet hain( come we too go there)

They saw Geet talking to those boys-Tum log isko kyun nahi khelne dete apne saath?(why are you not letting her play with you)

One boy-Madam ji cricket hai ladkiyaan nahin khelti(Maam this is cricket girls don't play it)

Geet-Achchha tumse kisne kaha?(Really who told you?)

Boy 'Madam ji sab kahate hai(maam..all say)

Geet-pahle to mujhe didi buklaao aur ye to galat hai khel koi ladke aur kladkiyon ka nahin hota every one can play any game(First of all call me didi.andthis is wrong games are not for only gols or only for boys.every one can play any game)

At this boys started to laugh as they were seeing some alien.

Geet smiled and asked-agar main saabit kar doon ki ladkiyaan cricket khel sakti hain to tum kya karoge(If I prove that girls can play cricket whet will you do in retuen?)

Boy- jo aap kahengi(Any thing you say)

Geet-chalo ek over khelte hain agar main out ho gayi to tum jeete aur nahin hui too main jeeti(Okey-Let's play one over If I get out then you win if not then I win)

Boys-Theek hai

And the game started Soni was on the non striker end. Geet took her dupatta from her one shoulder and wrapped it around her waist and tied it.and the best bowler of the school came to ball. First ball was a miss. But Geet was safe. On second ball Geet touched the ball with bat and she took two runs.and after that there was no chance for the boys to stand at one place.Finally hitting after two fours and two sixes Geet was standing with a smirk on her face.and the boys with their heads down.Maan came forward and said to the boys-kabhi mat sochna ki ladkiyaan ladkon se kam hoti hain(never think that girls are lesser than boys in any work)

Boys-Sorry didi

Geet-Nahi abhi to bet bhi puri karni hai

One boy-humen kya karna hai?

Geet-Soni will decide what you will have to do.Soni bataao kya saza deni hai in ladkon ko.

Soni-Nanih didi saza nahin ye to mere bhai hain.bus hum chahte hain ki hum bhi inke saath khel saken.(No didi no punishment for them as they are all my brothers.I only want we girls to play with them)

Geet-See this is a girl who easily forgave you main hoti to main to kaan pakad kar sit ups karwa deti.ab kabhi mat kahna ki ladkiyaan cricket nahin khel saktin.ladkiyaan to aaj chaand par bhi ja sakti hai.( If I were at her place I would have made you to do sit ups with your ears in your hands.never say that girls can't play cricket.today girls can go on moon too)

All said sorry and Geet and Maan smiled and said bye to all of them.children were happy to meet them.

After taking the round of the school and discussing over siome issues regarding to the management of the school Sarpanch kaka took them to their house.Geet was very excited as she never had to village before so it was all new for her and she was enjoying her trip.

They reached sarpanch's house and set in the open yard .Soon Geet got bore as there were only men and women were inside of the house and all were talking some serious so she asked to Sarpanch- kaka kya main aapka ghar andar se dekh sakti hoon?maine kabhi bhi gaaon ke ghar nahin dekhe hai(Kaka can I go in side of your house ?I want to see how a village house is)

Sarpanch-Haan Geet. Poochhna ki zaroorat nahin hai.Jaao. (off course GEET.No need to ask.Go)

And Geet went in. she saw the cattles tied on one side and the women of the house were preparing for the dinner

Women saw Geet and there was all got alert to see her.Sarpanch's wife-Arey bitia tum yahaan kyun aayi yahaan to sab kuchh ganda hai(why you are here ? it is dirty here)

Geet-kahaan ganda hai kaki aur main aapka ghar dekhne aayi thi aur aapka kaam karne ka tarika bhi .Aap kya kar rahi hain?(No kaki it's not dirty.I m here to see your house as well as the way you work.What are you doing?)

Kaki-Hum raat ka khana bana rahe hain (we are preparing dinner)

Geet saw that they were cooking on chulha(stove made by bricks and mud) using woods and upla(cow dung cakes) and she found it too exciting that she asked-Kaki main bhi ek roti banaaon jaise aapp bana rahe hain(kaki can I make one chapatti like the way you are making)

And out side of the house maan got the news about geet trying to make chapatis on chulha so he came in and saw Geet struggling with that chulha and chapaati.He instantly started to catch this act of her in his mobile to show it back at home.Geet was trying hard to make a round chapaati without using a rolling pin as kaki was making it by hands with the help of water.Finally Geet nade an thick uneven and small chapaati and as she put it on tawa it got shrinked there and got stick on tawa. All woman present there laughed to see her strugling.Maan too smiled to see her like this but Geet pouted at seeing all making a fun of her-Aisa nahin hai ki mujhe kaam karna nahin aata.mujhe khana banana aata hai,bas ye chulha kuchh gadbad hai( don't think that I don't know how to cook.I know but some thing is wrong with this chulha)

And she tried to pick that chapatti from the tawa and it broke as it was sticking there and got burnt too as she was late to pick it up.and in this process her eyes were red due to smoke and she closed her eyes because of burning sensation her fingers touched the hot tawa and a ahh' came out of her mouth . Maan instantly came to her and held her hand to saw the damage .he blew at her finger and Geet was red with shyness as all present there were looking at them with a smile on there faces.but maan didn't care of them.He helped her to stand ,took her hand and put it under water-Is it fine now?

Maan-Ab tumahaari chapatti ban gayi ho to chalen.

Geet-Maan it was too good to see them cooking without any rolling pin and it is very difficult too to work on this chulha.

Maan-Hmmm(to sarpanch) kaka ab hum chalet hain. And he went near kaki and said some thing to her and she giggled to hear him and other women too gave him a smile.They bid bye to all and went to farm house.

On the way Geet saw big green fields only both side of the road

Maan-is your finger still burning.

Geet-Not much and don't worry thodi der me theek ho jaayega.We girls or ladies are used to it

Maan gave her a stern look at this-what was the need to do all that?

Geet-Maan It was so fun to do that.But I could not make a perfect chapati even after so much efforts and I m feeling bad for that.

Maan-Don't worry do more practice and you will surely be able to make a perfect chapati after ten or twelve years

Geet-What do you mean by that?

Maan-We come here once or twice in a year. So it will take you twenty or more efforts to make that perfect chapatti and in ten years you will do that and he gave her a teasing look

Geet-Maan how mean?You are making fun of me na

And both laughed at it

They reached farm house and saw Suman was done with cooking of their dinner.she asked maan-Bhaiya ji maine khana bana diya hai.Main ruk jaaoon yahaan?(I have cooked dinner for you.Should I stay here ?)

Maan-Nahin Suman tum jaao and he gave some money to her

Suman-ye kisliye?

Maan-ye tumhaare bachchon ke liye and she took that money and thanked him.Then she left.

Geet-Maan I m going to take a bath as I m smelling myself all smoky.

Maan-Okey.

Geet came out of the bathroom and saw a box on the bed .She opened it and found a note_Geet plese wear this.I want to see you in this.Geet saw that it was the same white saree which she wore on Mr.sahni's party.matching ear rings were kept with that

Geet caressed that Saree and with love and went to get ready.After she got ready she came out of the room .Maan was waiting for her. As he saw her his eyes were full of love and admiration for the beauty which was standing in front of him with a deep,blush on her cheeks.Maan came near har and her and took her hand in his and said-Geet you know I love this saree a lot .Though it belongs to dadi but I always asked her to give it to my wife, though you have wore it before too but I couldn't admire you that day and you know why. You were looking like an angel in this saree that day and that's why I asked you to wear it today as I can see you with my full authority on you.This saree looks more beautiful on you.

Geet was all shy to hear that praise-Maaann but he stopped her by putting his finger on her lips and Geet could clearly feel the difference in that touch.

Maan-I have some thing else for you and he picked up a small box in his hand from the table and opened it.It was a diamond necklace with a pendent carving LOVE on it.

Geet-Maan I don't need it

Maan-I know that you don't need it but this is my wish.I want to make you wear it with my hands

Geet moved forward to allow him to fulfill his wish.He put that necklaceon her neck and and closed it's hook.-Geet it's looking so beautiful on you.

Geet-It's too pretty maan

Then he held her hand and helped her to come out in the back yard and Geet's eyes were full of surprise at the scene.

A dinner table wes set for the two with some candles on it and there wer lanterns all over the surrounding which were complimenting the ambiance of the house.

Geet eyes were full of glow to see this-Maan You have done all this for me? I loved it.this is so beautiful.when did you do this.
Maan -when you were getting ready. You liked it?

Geet-It is awesome Maan.Thank u so much and then she gave a look to the food. All was her favorite. all punjabi food.her mouth was full of water to see that food but then her eyes stuck on one dish it was covered.

Geet-Maan what is this why it is covered?

Maan-Because it's for me only.

Geet-Aisa kya hai jo merer liye nahin hai? I want to see it. And she went to uncovered it.

Maan-You can see it but can't share it as it is only for me and he gave her a smile.

Geet was confused-what is so special about it that I can't even share it and she uncovered it and her eyes were widened with surprise-Maan. Ye kisliye.this is not cooked even completely more over it is burnt too.it will taste bitter maan. (It was the same chapati which Geet cooked at sarpanch's house.Maan asked his wife to deliver it to farm house)

Maan-nahin Geet. For today it is the tastiest food for me because MY geet has cooked it. You took lot of efforts to make it. You got your finger burnt for it and your eyes to were burning that time with smoke so how can it taste bitter for me Geet?

Geet was looking at him with disbelief-How can a person love someone so much that he was ready to eat the worst food too only because it was cooked by his love.

Maan looked at her face and ask 'Geet kya hua .aise kya dekh rahi ho?

Geet could not hold her emotions anymore and she hugged Maan tightly by her neck.Maan was startled at her actions.He tried to separate her from himself-Geet. What happened?

Geet-Maan please . let me stay like this for some time.and she cluched his neck more tightly

Maan could understand that she was emotionally charged and he allowed her to stay like that .He too wrapped his arms around her to comfort her
