This round will not have any theme. From next round we are going to follow a particular theme. The contestants will submit the songs to the mentors. And mentors will post the download links here in this very topic. Mentors are requested to give the song details too like the title of the song and film. Like last round mentors will need to post the song details before hand.

Hey Barnali, thanks.

Now last years mentors and Last years participant 😆 ahem ahem... need to give me tips on what needs to be done 😆😳

So basically this one is a free for all round, with no theme, no particular artiste selected, just every contestant can sing a song of their/ mentors choice.

Sounds interesting.

Do Mentors discuss the songs amongst themselves to ensure that no two contestant are singing the same song?

Oh boy...it does feel a little strange being a mentor. 😆

Priya, last year we "booked off" the songs the contestants would sing in the Mentor's thread, so that no one else picked the same ones. I think we could follow the same pattern now. It was quite efficient.

Also, do we restrict songs by the gender of the singer? That is: will the female contestants only sing songs by female singers?

Or is it a true "free for all" round?

Okay let me explain the whole procedure Priya. You with the contestants will finalise the songs and post them here. The strategy is to post it as soon as possible so that the other gharana don't take that song. 😆

I think in the first round, we will need a weeks time to locate the contestants, then start the actual process of knowing them and then recording songs.

One mentor is still to put in an appearance here 😃
