😃 Thanks Barnali.

Wonder what happened to venky, he did say he will be participating, guess he did not log in thereafter.

I wish someone does tamil or a Malayalam song 😳 some lovely malayalam songs which can be sung with ease, but it would depend entirely on what the contestant wants.

Hi all - When we thought of the Regional round, there were two thoughts.. - there are so many beautiful songs in the native Indian languages that we would all like to hear... second, this will be a round where I guess music and singing will rule over the lyrics of the song.. Lots of times it happens that the lyrics of a song are so appealing that we go for it irrespective of the music.. here there is no scope for that 😃

Yes - Barnali'di, Anu and Me can help you out in this round if required 😳

Another suggestion - just like the magical mentors had trained each other's singers in specific rounds dedicated to the MDs, here also perhaps we could do that.. Like Priya could train Tanaz's gharana singer on a Tamil song, while Appa could help out with a Bengali song for Priya's gharana singers 😛 Kya khayal hai? 😉

I have a suggestion for Barnali di and company. But all the other mentors has to agree to it before the final decision. Why don't we allow the contestants to use a little echo. That will make the songs sound much better for the audience. All the contestants will get this advantage, and there will be no imbalance. I am sure that the judges wilk be able to identify the true potential of each contestants even with the echo.

As long as there is a level playing field, it is fine. So if everyone can use echo, it is a level playing field.

I need more clarification about regional songs. Will all languages be allowed? I think it is better to let the contestant choose the language he/she is comfortable with.

Appa, it is good that the issue is raised now, instead of being raised at a later date. But I am not so sure about this.

Firstly, the contestant must know how to use the echo. The contestants mentor must know how to optimise the use of it.

If we are going to use technology to the benefit of the contestants, it has to be even and some contestants or mentors cannot suffer because of lack of knowledge on how to use it. The contest should not become one wherein talent has to bow down to technical knowledge.

Two, No doubt the Judges can make out good potential even when echo is used, but this gives scope for a discretion, which can lead to issues later.

Why not have one echo round, where someone who knows how to use echo and how to optimise ones voice posts something here, and all contestants get the benefit of it. And if one or two mentors have more knowledge about it, they could guide all those contestants who have doubts on it?

Alternatively, echo to be used in the final stages only, by which, we can all get some training in it, and all of us are on even platform without being at any disadvantage.

The coordinating team thinks that Echo should not be used and that has been specifically mentioned in the Rules Section also... First as Priya pointed out that a technology enhancer can become a disadvantage for someone who does not know how to use it and we want all to play on a level ground... Also - its really an individual perception when we try to enhance the voice using technology and that may not really help the judges to give a more objective decision... Secondly, once we allow echo to be used, there can be a suggestion to use another voice enhancer and there is always a chance that this becomes an issue...

So we will stick to the rules not to use any voice enhancers including echo... Also - mentors please ensure that you have heard the song properly before posting the song in this thread - once posted, the song will be considered as final and there will be no option to change the song later..

Hope this clarifies all doubts 😊

Yes Sahana - all Indian Regional Languages be allowed.. So that rules out Hindi (as it is a national language) and English (its not a Indian Regional Language).. And yes, I think it will be good if the singers choose the language that they are comfortable in... Afterall diction matters a lot... Please let us know if you still have doubts...
